I heard a rumor as to why they quit using staples to secure the TM6 in a person's passport. Supposedly since it is forbidden to alter or deface a passport, it was determined that stapling did in fact deface a passport so that is why they stopped. But again, just a rumor.

What about all the other things they like to staple in your passport?  Also, if it is illegal, it would probably only be so in the country of origin.

Just booked r/t to EWR (NY) on Singapore Airlines with premium economy for $1350. It was only a few hundred more than Cathay, Emirates and the same as United. Air China is NOT an option ever! To me that's a no brainer since Cathay, United and Emirates were economy fares.

Good choice and excellent non-choice.  No mainland Chinese airlines any time and not even because of the coronavirus risk.

as well i presented them with my print outs for 12 months for my bank in Canada.

Maybe I am misunderstanding something but are you saying that you applied using the income method?  Then you say your bank in Canada?  The Embassy letter should have been all you needed but then if you show that the pension money went to a Canadian bank, that won't do it since it has to be in a Thai bank.

Any one of the following would have been OK.  Monthly >65K into a Thai bank, 800K for the proper time in a Thai bank or a valid Embassy letter.

  4. What I would do is to:

    1.  Make sure all the 65K rules are followed

Minimum of 65K every single month on roughly similar dates

Not one month even 1฿ short

Every deposit is coded to show foreign transfer

Your bank is willing and able to prove the deposits

    2. Get your extension based on income and don't even mention that you have the 800K

    3. If successful, do whatever you wish with the 800K

First released in 2015. Updated frequently since then.  When you say "its final form" is that it? No more updates?

Tried once before but found it useless and not compatible with many sites.

This one is not at all like the one released in 2015.  I think they kept the name "Edge" just for familiarity.   "Final form" meant that the Chrome based version until now has been available as a beta now it is released in a full version.  I am sure it will get frequent updates.

  6. Has anyone tried the new Microsoft Edge?  It just became available for download yesterday in its final form, 16-Jan-20.  It is pretty cool and is based on Chrome and looks almost like it too.

No idea yet if it will work with the various immigration online forms.
