Fortunately for me I was already going to cancel my service at the end of February.

OK, so the answer from HP is this: With a Single Language version in Thailand, during setup it will ask if you want English or Thai. This is a one time selection and cannot be changed later without a Pro upgrade.

Not at all. It means that the interface will be in Thai, but you will be able to input English characters etc
You will need to install English US keyboard for Thailand laptops.
Understood, it was just that it struck me funny and I had to think about what they were saying.

Every Windows computer has mutiple languages you can choose. But you have to download the corresponding language package first and then set the launguage.
Sorry that is incorrect. With windows 10 home or windows 10 pro, it is correct. But a single language version can only be changed by upgrading to Pro or reinstalling.

You should look whether they say "Windows 10 Home" version or "Windows 10 Pro" version.
For Windows 10 Home (quote from Microsoft):
And you can bet it is Thai language installed except explicitly specified otherwise.
I don't care whether anything is installed but do on myself and pay a small amount for a license key. But that requires some basic knowledge.
PRO by default is multi-language so these are Home Single language notebooks.
I would have no issues installing a fresh copy of Windows except that if the laptop fails I will not be able to get warranty. With the newer no optical drive, most laptops do not have installation media.
The quote from MS about changing the input but not the display is kind of funny.

Yes Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home both allow you to choose during startup. However this is Windows 10 Home SINGLE LANGUAGE which can only be changed by upgrading to Pro. I can easily get a very cheap Pro license which will fix the issue however, if it starts out in Thai I will not be able to get that far.
I have asked HP Thailand Sales and they don't know. HP support is checking.
I cannot quite tell but it looks like the pictures show a combination english / thai keyboard.

I see many laptops for sale online in Thailand. Many of them say they have Windows 10 Single Language but they never specify which language it comes with, English or Thai. You have to go through some gyrations to add additional languages but I can't do that if if comes with only Thai installed. I am looking at an HP HP 15s-du1060TX. This is a US model number but who knows what the language is. Anyone bought a single language version before?

Whats with the question mark? I think u know what I mean. Isaan is an area, people usually Laos descent and Bhudist. Khmer is a religion / culture and yes Khmer people are found in South Eastern Isaan
Religion, I don't think so, 97% of Cambodians are Buddhists . Khmer are simply people from Cambodia and speak the language. People from Isaan who speak Khmer, are in most cases not really Khmer but they do speak something like the Khmer language. If someone from Thailand speaks Khmer in Cambodia, they are immediately recognized as speaking Surin-Khmer.

And when it does happen, don't forget to report it on the TM-whatever report 30 days in advance.

Will be as useful as the health certificates Thai bargirls need to get!
I know many bar girls and personally I have never seen one with a certificate. In fact, I don't know any who actually go to a doctor unless they are sick. Even if they did have a certificate, who would check.

How could anyone anticipate the doing away with embassy income letters, the requirement for useless insurance or in the long term, the drastic decline on the exchange rates for many countries? If the 800K in the bank were to be suddenly changed to 2M , would that also be a failure to plan?
And this was all in the last year.

Here from newssource: https://www.silent-gardens.com/blog/philippines-9a-tourist-visa-stricter-enforcement-of-regulations/
Their visa system gets abused like thailands, obviously they will crack down - this will happen everywhere in the world.
I was warning about vietnam for a while here, got only laughed at ... well, now see yourself.
All these SEA countries - except glorious Singapore are super protectionist, because they are braindead. Foreigners have far less rights in PH/VN than in thailand, and it's only going downhill from here... think twice before you go their long term without an SRRV visa.
I will be getting an SRRV but planed on using 30, 29, and 6 month visas as a backup. The 9A link seems to be stressing that they are serious about not working on those visas; not an issue for me.
The video seems to be someone who is doing their normal 36 month visa run. The flight is "really difficult" because of him. He has medical and memory issues that really have nothing to do with tightening of short term visas.

OK thanks
If your friend truly has diplomatic status, and it is often misinterpreted, he could not be arrested for not doing the TM30. In fact, as the well known case in the UK shows, he could drive badly, kill someone and get away with it.

I am in the same situation. My order was to arrive before 13 February and has been delayed another 2 weeks. Tracking says it was ready for shipping on 20 January. I had to "chat" to find out about the delay. My complicating factor is that I will no longer be in Thailand on the 28th. I am not allowed to cancel since they say it has been shipped but it really hasn't.

If this is true, its no longer an alternative...three months was bad enough but having to leave and pay every month is madness. A few reports coming out of Manila and Angeles that PI is clamping down on being able to do tourist visas for three years, now requiring people to be married or SRRV
I don't doubt you but do you have any background on those reports about the Philippines, like where can I see them? I ask because I am heading there in a month.

Knife? What do you mean?
I guess you are not an Australian movie fan. Crocodile Dundee. Famous line where someone pulls a normal knife on him and he replies with a giant one and says "you call that a knife....."

Yes this is of concern but the big picture has to be taken in account. The regular influenza killed over 7,200 in the United States in just the last 3 months of 2019.

One thing I have noticed with the new Edge is that it isn't getting updates like Chrome gets.

I heard a rumor as to why they quit using staples to secure the TM6 in a person's passport. Supposedly since it is forbidden to alter or deface a passport, it was determined that stapling did in fact deface a passport so that is why they stopped. But again, just a rumor.
What about all the other things they like to staple in your passport? Also, if it is illegal, it would probably only be so in the country of origin.

Just booked r/t to EWR (NY) on Singapore Airlines with premium economy for $1350. It was only a few hundred more than Cathay, Emirates and the same as United. Air China is NOT an option ever! To me that's a no brainer since Cathay, United and Emirates were economy fares.
Good choice and excellent non-choice. No mainland Chinese airlines any time and not even because of the coronavirus risk.

Better call it westerners. That will at least include the US and Australia/NZ.
Or call it Farangs as that is the intended use of the word.

In most cases Grab adds an additional fee to or from airports. Also, Grab is location dependent. Fore example, I find Grab much cheaper in Chiang Mai than Pattaya.

Neither one. They are both approaching the high or even very high maintenance cost time frame.
And you do know that BMW is shorter to type than Beemer?
