I guess the laptop should have dual language capability (Thai & Eng.) and both languages on the keybord. -
Is Resin a brand name? If yes does this brand hve advantages? Is it compatable with Solar power/internet controls?
-
Thanks. You mention 'solar submersible pump'. Does that mean the actual pump is at the bottom of the pipe? Or? Thanks.
-
Thanks, you entioned "... 4 inch pumps are very common." Could this be a solar powered pump with remote (internet) controls? Expensive? Thanks again.

Agree, come on rain in Chiang Mai.

What is the diameter of the blue plastic pipe please? And is there any special fittting at the end of the pipe? E.g. a basic rigid filter? Does the typical blue plstic pipe come in different thickness/quality? What's recommended for this purpose. Thanks for sharing.

I called K Bank Call Centre this morning: -Now changed again to under US$50,000 no check at all. -Bank staff do manually check that account number and name details received agree with K Bank records, therefore if large numbers of transfers this could cause some delay. -Is transfers goes first to a Thai intermediary bank there will be a delay, intermediary bank take their time to onforward to the final receiving Thai bank. -Over US$50,000 refererred to Thai money laundering agency for check, details unknown.

Yes, well worth a read, thanks.

My Thai son's wife has inherited 20 rai of land in the Tak area and they are in the process of estblishing an orchard. Apparently this area has limited water available (except for rain and local small streams, often dry). They've asked my Thai son to help finance the equipment/installation of the equipment to tap underground water. Supposedly quite abundant but quite deep. My son is not so familiar with anything to do with farming etc., the information my son has: - Water extraction pipe needs to be about 40 metres deep, maybe more. Locals tell son to spend more and install good quality stainless steel pipe. About 2 to 3 days to install. - Cost of all equipment and the cost of instaling the underground pipe plus a solar powered remote (inernet) controlled pump about 65,000Baht. - There's 2 large big ponds at the location used to store rain water. Could be used to store water pumped from the underground water supply, and the ponds could be increased in size. I'm hoping some members are familliar with the subject, can you please share some comments. Thanks.

Best Starting Salary for University grads
scorecard replied to EVENKEEL's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Theres other options rather then salary (an employee). Some start their own business and become very successful. I had one young Thai man in a bachelor of Business class at Thammasat uni. He completed high school and then completed a bach. of civil engineering degree all in New Zealand. Then he decided he needed business knowledge and he started with a bachelor of business then completed his MBA (at Thammasat). By the time he had completed first year of his bach. of business he had started 2 companies in Bkk (one in music, other in sports, both had 20+ employees) and was making good money, and he had completed a business plan (well constructed) for his 3rd business. Some grads., make plans to gain experience and reputation aiming to be sought out by others (often at high fees) to coach, train, advise, etc., and make big money (my Thai son). -
Why would they? Also, do Japanese and Korean girls demand an inspection before going home? Do they ssume that boys/men who are cut personally made the decision to have it cut? Circumcisum is still practced widely for nwborn boys in many countries, meaning that hundreds of boys are cut every day. Additionally muslim boys are required by their religions to be cut and 99% are cut just after birth.

And should be. Years back I had just boarded a flight at KL International and someone at check-in told the check-in clerk her check-in bag had a bomb in it. As expected the airport staff, all people milling around KLIA and passengers on all aircraft waiting to take off deplaned and bused to another complex about 1km away. Police in flack jackets, helmets etc, and with rifles appeared quickly. Then big team of army guys called in, 5 hrs later army announced 'all clear' and everybody bused back to the airport. Two hrs later my flight to Bkk departed. Days later the news services mentioned the bomb hoax passenger had been sentenced to 60 days jail in Malaysia and fined about 100,000Baht. Plus ongoing action by various aviation companies, shops at KLIA suing for hoaxer for compensation. She claimed it was all totally unfair because it was just a joke. Nationality of the hoaker I don't recall.

And others take advantage of the weak minded/naive folks. -
A bit like "I had a wreck." Meaning "I had an accident." The wreck is the end result of the accident.

Are there any 'normal' farangs living in Thailand?
scorecard replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Maybe so at the Lotuss near you. The nearest store to me the staff totally ignore the customers and any reaction you feel like you are a 100% nuisance. They unpack incoming stock in the area where customers make 3 lines to pay for their purchases. if the customers is in their way you get told so. Asking 'where is xxx please?' gets ignored. -
