Thai Airways investigates cabin crew incident – ‘Tray Gate’
scorecard replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
"... vanished to the back of the plane ..." I experienced 2 incidents in business class, evening flight HK to Bkk: 1: Passengers boarding (into Bus class) at HK, no cabin staff whatever, all passeners taking care of everything themselves. One old Thai lady near me pressd the call button several time, no response. She got up and went to the galley area, can't open the curtain, someone is holding it closed from inside the galley, Eventually the curtain was pulled open. Guess what, they're having a birthday party. Passenger came back to her said and yelled loudly across the cabin 'there's no cabin crew because they're having a birthday party in the galley'. Obviously the party goers heard her announcement because they quickly came into the cabin and tried to look busy but in reality looked like unprofessional idiots. 2. Also Evening bus classs HK to Bkk. As quickly as possible after take off the meal is served and quickly cleard away. Then a waitress (trolley dolley) pushed a food cart to the front of the bus class section, several other staff following and they put an ice bucket with cans of beer, bottles of spririts and mixers on the cart and all disappear. Then an announcement, 'starting today XX tave a new policy, after dinner is finished all drinks are self service, help yourself from the trolley in the cabin. A little while later an old Thai passener wants something and presses the call button many times, no response. She gets up, goes to the galley area, can't open the curtain, someone is holding it closed from inside the galley, Eventually the curtain was pulled open. Guess what, they're having a birthday party. -
Thai Airways investigates cabin crew incident – ‘Tray Gate’

Again, I wonder how many managers and supervisors moved across to the 'new Thai', and how many cabin crew moved across to the 'new Thai'. All taking with them their old attitudes, ethics and behaviours! I dread to think how they would perform in an accident or very urgent life threating scenario to get all passengers off the aircraft in a very short time. Why? It's been noted several time before that many of their staff haven't attended training for years. They make a silly excuse to not attend and get away with it. -

and now we have 'killed the intruder..... . My adult Thai son would be the one who might have physical contact with them. He's fit and would have aimed to disable them rather than attempt anything more. He's a devout buddhist, violence unless to save life is not on his agenda. There's no weapons of any sort in the house just the normal kitchen knives. In reality we don't know how many intruders. We now know that on the night before the check of doors and winows got interupted my other family stuff/problems and a longer double sliding window was closed but not locked. In fact we never unlock/open the windows and leave them open on that side of the house because of the dust and pollution in the air coming in from the highway nearby. But during that day we had a visit from son's loud mouth brainless brother in law who always interferes with everything at all the family houses and son had told him 'close the window and lock it' Resposnse 'it's not important', later. Son did then lock that window, maybe 2:00pm. Around 6:00.00 a.m. the next morning my son went downstairs to get breakfast for his kids and noticed the curtains flying out of the window and then on closer checking, that the double sliding full length windows were full open. Since esablished that the idiot brother in law unlocked the window but didn't open the window late the previos afternoon. Son called his wife quickly and also called the cop who lives opposite who came quickly. Son's wife quickly established her purse was open on a coffee table meaning that it had been removed from a cabinet and she realized about 10,000Baht was missing. Also quickly noted that all the cabinets in that rooom had been disturbed and things moved around. Cop quickly got another cop living in our village to come and try to get some clues but nothing.

Perhaps worth adding, the main reason to put a usfruct in my name on sons land was because his wifes demanding/greedy/unethical elder brother and sisters were all demanding that their younger sister (my son's wife) was the real owner of the land from the date she married my son (their interpreation of Thai law, about which they know nothing, they make up laws regularly to suit what they want. Son went to our trusted lawyer, she confirmed that son's wife was NOT entitled to be the owner from date of marriage. Lawyer also suggested son add an usufruct showing my name. All done. Next time this subject came up my son was waiting with a copy of the column on the back of the land title showing the usufruct. They demanded this was not legal, son got his lawyer on the phone and she insisted the usufruct was legal. Then they tried to inist cannot be in the name of a farang (as above they are all armchairs lawyers who have no knowledge whatever of any Thai laws. Lawyer insisted it was legal ans she sent the website address of the appropriate law to my son. Son resent the webiste adrress to his several in-laws. Then no further discussion except me being attacked (one of several times) for stealing things from Thai people. Son responded to this with 'show me the papers for your pick up truck, I'll give a copy to dad, maybe he will use these papers to steal your pick up'. They froze, subject dropped.

Prayut goes on defensive in second day of censure debates

No doubt wissanu, who is a strong supporter of the PM and the appointed senator rules, will have a method ready to select the new gang ready to go. Sadly/unfortunately there's a very large number of militay folks candidates for them to select from; retired generals & snr. officers, current generals etc., none of whom willl rock the boat. -
Not my area of extertise however i'm now firmly fixed in 'absolutely don't believe anything you read/see on any news services, any country. All of them. If you bother to monitor a few stories you quickly see/realize other information which proves that many stories are blatant lies, the 'journalists/media outlets' involved are very dishonest and know it but have no hesitation to tell lies and spread deliberately inaccurate comments all with a political purpose.

He's at least 50 years behind the times and in some subject areas 500 years behind the times. He doesn't know the regulations re Covid- 19 have changed/ been cancelled. And nobody tells him / well established he's not a listener and nobody under a general would dare mention anything to him, conversations confined to 'yes sir'. -
I suspect there's lots of assumption and bar talk/bar lawyer stuff here. This needs to be checked with a real and experienced lawyer. I mention 'experienced' lawyer because not many lawyers are experienced regarding usufructs. And there are amphurs / districts where the Land Titles Officer seniors will not allow usufructs. They are fully legal but as well known local interpretations do happen and there's nothing you can do o change that. My own experience. We live in Chiang Mai. Our family house and land is owned by my Thai adult (40 yo) Thai son. His name is on the back of the chanut as the owner. There's also a usufruct in my name on the same property, all recorded on the back of the chanut. The usufruct is for life. I am the only person who can cancel it. It does auto ancel when I die. Without my written permission the property cannot be sold or re-developed.

Sure. I've been living/working in LOS nearly 35 years. Many years back I went to a lecture at the SIam Society. The panel was 3 very old Thai psychiatrict (2m, 1F), all historians of many decades. All spoke perfect English. An audience member (western) asked about the role/place in society of the military. In quick summary this gendered many comments / key words from the 3 panel members like the military leaders expect 'glorification' of the military as primary, necessary (somewhat connected to xxxxx on elephants engagedin wars). Also comments that the older (and some younger) military seniors considered/expected all citizens to have total respect for the miliary as a thank you for the militaries winning of wars/sacrifices, etc. And total respect because they 'lead' the country. Also these older leaders expected that they should 'build' the future direction of the country and it should be followed without question.

Thanks. Re your comment 'be carfeful who you invite...'. We have a senior cop living opposite our house, a few years back he invited three builders to come and measure etc., and give quotes for adding another room to his house. He told each builder 'you must come alone' and he and his wife made sure they were close by all the time each builder was in the house. Third guy came. Next morning their Toyota Fortuna was missing. Plus a small box with wife's jewellery missing. Other cops quickly tracked down the Toyota and they could see the jewellery box in the car. They waited until someone came to get in the car, it was the 'builder'.

Our village (Don Chan area) is quite secure, outer walls all have cameras, cameras every internal soi, many street lights, etc. But 2 nights back thieves found an unlocked window and emptied DILs purse, nothing else taken. We've now realised there's several dark spots where nobody would notice thieves checking windows etc., so we now put on all the many lights around the house (under the eaves) at dusk. Son now wants to install 4 or 5 cameras but he has no knowledge what to buy / perhaps a whole system? At a reasonable price. I'm guessing there's new/improved technology in this area all the time. Expert suggestions appreciated.

Wise again
scorecard replied to norfolkandchance's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Any members ever used WISE to: - Transfer funds from K Bank - To a bank in Poland or Czech Republic? WISE tell me they can do it but must be transferred with recipient currency showing as US$ (cannot be in Euros or local Polish etc., currencies). WISE say this is really not a problem, all banks can easily/quickly convert to local currency on arrival. WISE say sender must quote a SWIFT code or IBAN code. (Without a SWIFT or IBAN code they cannot do the transfer. WISE say it's possible the transaction could involve an intermediary bank therefore an extra SWIFT fee, probably around US$5-, which would be deducted from the final amount paid into the ultimate receiving account. Any commenst appreciated, thanks. -
