Bangkok woman’s unexpected fall in lift shaft sparks high-rise rescue
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It amuses me when there's a mention of tik toc for no reason whatever. -
- '...thaiembassy...' is NOT in any way part of the official Thailand Immigration Bureau. - it's a commercial business which gives paying clients 'advise', nothing more / nothing less. It's been reported before that the 'advice' on their website is less than 'accurate'. And there's several more commercial business operators in the same league. - Thai Embassy website is not 'approved / certified /written' by the Thai Immigration Bureau.

Since spoken to the officer on the 1506 hotline: - The SSO funds receivable is set up to take member contributions from members bank a/c on 15th of each month (for the previous month), if 15th is on a Sat, Sun or public hol, the system automatically waits and takes the member funds on the next working day. Cannot be a joint savings account, must be an a/c in the name of the SSO member only.

Sure... I'm guessing the home-stay detention also means (in his version of the world) that it's OK to do basic things that non prisoner detention folks can do; shopping - and who would approach him and his mafia gang and would he respond 'but be reasonably officer, it's Just 10 minutes'. -

So, practice your own medicine, if that true (which it's not) you also have no right to make your comments just above! -

As per usual with high profile wealthy folks the land purchase / transfer was a feature of the evening news on that day. Numerous Gov't officials and Khun Pojaman in attendance. Just prior it had been mentioned that the land purchase/transfer was illegal, and the shocked looks on the faces of the gov't officials revealed their disgust. -

Some questions for all foreigners who have retired and moved to SSF Voluntary Insurance scheme: 1. Seems that what now the standard practice is that the SSO set up a process to remove the monthly members fee direct from the bank account number given by the foreigner. Any comments? 2. I've been given some info from other sources which seems to indicate that the SSO activate their system to take the monthly fee from the foreigners bank account always on the 15th of each month? Is that true? Any comments? 3. Obviously I can check my bank balance on my K Biz internet banking screens end of day on the 15th, however do you get an e.mail from the bank or from the SSO confirming they have received the monthly contribution? Any comments? 4. I offered the SSO a K Bank joint savings account but they (The Chiang Mai office) declined that and requested a savings account in my name only. ANy comments? Appreciate if you would please share any relevant comments, thanks.

Opposition must not link budget debate to Thaksin : Pheu Thai

Why/how could they face legal action? Is there a specific law about mentioning thaksin? -
-But keep in mind quick renewal or annual renewal is NOT required by any regulation. -An Exit / Re-entry stamp is only required when the PR holder actually departs the country, so it can be obtained a few days before the departure date. -Therefore it's possible a PR holder has no Exit/Re-entry stamp for several years because they had no plan/need/desire to travel abroad in that period. -An Exit/Re-entry stamp is not required for domestic travel within Thailand. -However PR holders who travel continuously (probably their work) can get a multiple entry stamp, and many get this quickly after their old stamp expires so that they are ready to travel is needed urgently in another country.

All good points and very specific to your personal and your private situation. I got some flack when I announced I was going to Oz for 2 years. Mostly from my sons Thai mother in law and son's Thai brother in law (a full on mid aged flamboyant loud lady boy who has opinions of many things, 99% of which he doesn't begin to understand). Their 'objection' was that I was abandoning my son, son's wife and kids for 2 years. Son (and his wife) realized that we should think long-term, realizing that (as I had promised and reinforced) I would always give them regular support (until I die), especially financial support for their 3 kids for education. Son's mother in law and brother in law didn't begin to understand this, in fact son's brother in law several times trotted out 'but he's a farang, all farang are rich with no limit... '. Son and his wife quickly took the line 'it's not open for any further discussion' and always changed the subject.

Yesterday I had a clear, polite and insightful conversation with an SSO lady from the 1506 Hotline and we discussed the plastic SSO member card. A summary: - The SSO no longer issues member cards to Thai members. Their SSO member number is the same as their national ID card number. - Foreigners, including those who have retired and transferred to the Voluntary lifetime insurance are not issued with the card automatically but they can request the plastic card at their local SSO office, made in Bkk, sent direct to the member by Thai Post, usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. The card included the same national ID number as on the pink ID card. The name of the holder is in English. My card will be requested on 2 Jan 2024 when the New year break is finished.
