In small village where I'm staying pot is taboo?
Bday Prang replied to Elkski's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
I've yet to hear anything negative about it from any Thai I know. Brother in Law and his wife are a bit strait laced he's a police captain and she's some sort of clinician, they just named their new cows Gancha and Kratom, The other brother in law , also police, has been growing it for years , The youngest of the wifes brothers also police, has given his son 2 Rai of land to grow it on too. I was at a load of funerals and a good few weddings over the last 6 months and me and the missis used to play a game to see who would be first to spot the plant , it was very rare that there was no plant lol. The OP must be in the "bible belt" -
Some people should not be allowed out on their own. have you forgotten where you are ? This is Thailand pal, you need to learn to keep your eyes open and to trust nobody. Anybody selling anything anywhere needs to be regarded with a healthy suspicion , This includes but is not limited to, Lotus, Big C , PTT , PEA, 7/11 , Global , Thai Watsadoo , Homepro, Do-home , etc. all chinese hardware shops, any local markets, mom and pop shops and of course anything connected to the motor, trade.including main dealers You also need to keep your wits about you when dealing with Banks, Insurance companies and hospitals. and be very wary when dealing with Teachers, Immigration and the Police, infact anybody wearing a uniform or receiving a government salary. Exercise caution when dealing with "tradesmen" especially electricians. and maintain vigilance when paying in hotels , restaurants and of course bars Its a battlefield out there! with thousands of them lurking in the shadows, just waiting to rip you off, with or without the help of your missis . Always check your change . and don't forget to be extra alert around drug dealers lol

The sad fact is, for many it probably does , We have all heard of the "placebo effect" its a well known medical phenomenon, in this case it has a much stronger effect , as its generally accompanied by the reluctance to accept that one has paid over the odds for something, I remember the advert for Stella lager "reassuringly expensive" was the phrase they used . Throw in the encouragement of a few "experts" and a bit of herd mentality and many sadly fall for it Same with the shape and colour of the bottle and even the label and the name printed on it , none of that has come about by accident, packaging is a key part of "Advertising and Marketing" which, like hypnosis, seems to have a profound effect on certain people people, and again herd mentality does the rest These days there are also the excruciatingly annoying internet influencers spreading the b/s too . Despite what many believe, the alcohol in VSOP Brandy , Absolute Vodka, and Lao Khao is chemically identical However, as I said , some people are more resistant to hypnosis than others, this would explain why some, like us, were happy with 400bt lumps of brickweed , But did you notice the pack like mentality with all the negative comments that were posted regarding brickweed , by people who were obviously subconsciously regretting paying over the odds for their designer bud . Did you also notice that It was about that time that a few "experts" appeared on here, reinforcing the benefits of "top price weed" and some also telling us how difficult it was to grow "properly"?

When all this started, if i remember correctly some were charging around 1000 per gram, and astonishingly some people were actually paying that much for it ! Unbelievable, It must be the first time that a substance actually became more expensive after it was legalised , Even 250 baht per gram is, as you rightly say, absolute madness. any body suggesting otherwise is probably involved in the supply, either that or they have just been conditioned to paying ridiculous prices, due to coming from countries where prohibition has artificially inflated the price of a plant which is no more difficult to grow than a tomato plant or any other vegetable, and as such, in my opinion, should be priced accordingly. Likewise if you end up with a bit too much its no big deal to give a bit away to "friends and family" just like when the mango trees all flower together , or just bin it lol Had it never been illegal in the first place, it would probably be sold quietly in the local markets at around 5 baht a bag, by the same old women who sell the betel nuts and accompanying paraphernalia. As far as I 'm concerned that's kind of how it should be. Can't say I'm a fan of the designer, neon lit "dispensaries" Just to put things into perspective , I'm In the Uk at the moment and an ounce of weed is costing me £200 which is not much more than 250bt a gram. It breaks my heart after paying 400 bt for 100g of brick People charging or promoting those sort of prices are not doing us any favours

American arrested in Phuket over alleged “stock manipulation”
Bday Prang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You and all the others really need to let this go. This is of no consequence to any of you, life is too short so move on. Or, is the constant outrage that some claim to feel, really just a form of virtue signalling, desperately trying to convince the rest of us that you would not do exctly the same if you were in his position ? -
not only that, but most in the west have had their common sense gradually removed by endless and pointless "heath and safety" regulations, The younger generations have lost the ability to take care of themselves As soon as they venture out into the real world they are an accident waiting to happen. With their natural instincts eroded they are akin to a Lab-rat that has been released into the wild.

No way , its nothing to do with the airlines and its none of their business, people need to look after themselves and take responsibility . There is too much molly coddling by governments and the like in the name of health and safety and this is what we end up with a generation of people who should not be allowed out unless accompanied by a responsible adult

is there a doctor in pattaya who can confirm if a girl is pregnant
Bday Prang replied to parafareno's topic in Pattaya
Yes , am certain there is a doctor in Pattaya who, for a fee, will confirm if a girl is pregnant or not. In fact I am sure there are many -
according to the linked article..... .Weerakit added that these offenders along with the non-repeat offenders would have to report themselves to the Probation Department to start doing social service work and going through traffic seminars. Some of them would also have their driving license suspended. and even more bizarrely... If the offender was discovered to be highly addicted to alcohol, they would be transferred to medical centers to undergo a 4-month rehabilitation program. I'm wondering, would it not be the job of the courts to decide what punishment would be handed out or have the police been granted special powers ?

Phuket Immigration announces results of their recent overstay crackdown
Bday Prang replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Spot on mate , anybody making negative comments about this should look at their own country's pathetic attempt at controlling unwanted or illegal immigration. These guys have a job to do , and they do it . U.K border force could learn a lot from them , -

Something very fishy about this story, Starting with the opening sentence,. A classic sensationalist headline . "They are the pictures Nobody wanted to see" and then despite the title of this thread I couldn't actually find an actual comment from a single "outraged netizen" Strangely , despite his concern there is no mention of the guy taking the cannabis off the kids, and furthermore if he was genuinely so concerned about the kids ( and the image presented to tourists of course) why did he not immediately contact the police or one of the numerous drug / crime hotlines rather than merely posting about it on social media ? "And there could be fears that people who are still "anti-weed" will seize on such alarming pictures and say "we told you so", notes ASEAN NOW." It appears to me that ASEAN NOW are doing exactly that In my opinion the whole incident and reports are completely staged and false, However it is a fact that feral street urchins do exist in south east Asia and many of them are unwillingly involved in far more unsavoury activities than this
