Correct, and it looked nothing like cannabis at all By the way I call b/s on all of these "reefer madness" stories, Last year a guy allegedly cut his penis off after smoking !!! Strange how they have reappeared just before election time. The media is not producing these stories alone there will be influential types behind this . It has all become politicised

Nothing brutal or savage or heartless about Britmans suggestion,a totally pragmatic and doubtless very effective,3 pronged strategy, playing on a) her natural instinct to protect her "investment" and prevent him from straying,She really will not want him going anywhere alone especially Pattaya b) The accompanying loss of face if she lost him before the build is completed and he has payed for the new house party c) The immediate short term loss of cash whilst he's away you have to find their achilles heel, Its not difficult, its normally money, but women can be stubborn and often are prepared to "cut their nose off to spite their face as they" So occasionally a bit more leverage is needed and " loss of face" as shown above could be turned to his advantage The above however only provides a short term solution, and the long term prospects are not looking good If he's landed one like this , who can't or won't stand up to her family , he cannot appeal to her better nature, and unless he is prepared to forget his western sensitivities, and take a bit of action, "man up " if you like, he is on course, firstly , to lose any respect he may have left Secondly to exist in a living hell, and then finally he will inevitably lose everything. The op needs to ask himself (and his wife) if she would behave like this if he was Thai, Its pretty obvious what the correct answer is, He also needs to ask himself if he would stand for this treatment from a woman of his own nationality, and would he also be so willing to build her a house He may be able to pull it round but it will be hard work and there will be tears (on both sides) but it is possible and i've seen it happen , although as he said, its been her long term dream to have this house, he needs to get them all "trained up" before its finished or all is lost

Yep hit the nail on the head there, Blood is thicker than water, but money is a damn sight thicker than blood. Pattaya trip is pretty much guaranteed to work Other than that he could buy a big dog, Invent a ghost story , or he could divert his construction resources to building a wall and a gate (he should have done that first and he will have to do it eventually) so that looks favorite to me, He could try embracing the situation and including them in the project, by assigning them some small tasks to help out.. that will also get rid of them

The Thais can indeed be "enterprising" and nothing surprises me anymore, but Somchai would have to come up with a slightly more sophisticated scam than that if he wanted to fool anyone but the most inexperienced of smokers. He wouldn't be getting any repeat business either so that must be a tourist only scam One of the many benefits of deregulation is that kind of scam and pretty much any other cannabis related scam will be very rare now. There is now no reason for anybody to buy dubious weed from dodgy characters in dimly lit pub toilets. The new wave of neon lit shops proudly have their product on display and visual inspection is normally, welcomed What is criminal, however is the price some of them are charging. If they can get away with that , then the scam is a complete success already. They don't need to add grass, no need to be greedy and risk exposure and loss of reputation As for those paying the exorbitant prices ? Well it's what tourists do isn't it? If I was on holiday and treating myself, I guess I wouldn't be too bothered wasting time, searching out the cheaper stuff either , as long as what i bought was ok I'd be happy

"We" actually refers to yourself doesn't it ? Your first sentence indicates that regulation does not work very well. for you What actual issues do "We" have with cannabis ? And please, please, do tell us all how reclassifying it as a narcotic would be of any benefit to anybody except illegal drug dealers and the criminal underworld generally The last 100 or so years of prohibition have proved this to be the case. you need to pay more attention. You should leave backpackers to take care of themselves, they will all be more worldly wise than you for sure.

In the Uk 20 years ago we used to buy these eye drops called "eye dew" it would turn the whites of your eyes whiter than Donny Osmonds teeth. Not exactly sure what was in it although something called "witch hazel" was involved. I heard rumours that Visine can help beat a urine test,( not by ingestion) anybody else heard that?

Just like the anti-terrorism security charade at airports , A ridiculous situation where normal peoples lives will no doubt be inconvenienced further in the name of crime prevention. whilst the real criminals have already found a way around any new regulations and are laughing at us all

I find it so false when people use it , especially regarding people they don't know. I suspect the people who "solemnly" utter RIP at the slightest excuse in an attempt to highlight their caring and sympathetic character, are often the same people calling for overstayers to be all but hung drawn and quartered

The huge increase in accidents they ( The mainstream media and certain TVF members) all predicted has of course failed to materialise. It is only to be expected that they all jump on a story like this where even a whiff of cannabis is mentioned, regardless of whether it was a contributing factor or not , and they would never let the truth or the facts spoil a good story.

You ended up in hospital and were disabled for 5 years as a result of trying to impregnate women, ??? After more than 30 years here, that has to be one of the most ridiculous stories I have ever heard. but ok I will give you the benefit of the doubt. You were a single guy with no kids, so why describe your behaviour as selfish? Your post is nothing more than virtue signalling. That tells me all I need to know. Looks like you may have to up your game though, as your points to post ratio indicates a lack of popularity. Never mind 3 other like minded individuals appear to have crawled from under their rocks to "like" your post, did you get the warm smug feeling you were hoping for?

Bangkok bank new atm card
Bday Prang replied to bubba1's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I can't see that being a problem assuming the account is still in credit after whatever monthly charges may have been taken, but I think if the balance drops to zero they close the account. If you have changed your passport during your absence, try to take your old passport with you when you ask for a new card, or things could potentially become challenging. Personally I would not consider transferring any money over to that account prior to your departure, for use on your trip, just in case the account had been closed or "lost" or "was being used by another" or any one or more of a myriad of other possible excuses. It is Thailand afterall -
I couldn't make any sense out of the original OP but it has been kind of reissued (now at the bottom of page 3 for anyone else who missed it) The first OP was obviously posted in error and appeared incomplete and almost nonsensical, to me it appeared to be an article about Thailand welcoming these Russians Fortunately since they posted what is presumably the updated version, It now appears that the opposite is true, and that preparations are currently underway to remove at least some of them. Might even include a few oligarch types if there are any here and Putin wants them back Could be somewhat unfortunate for some who have bought property Oh dear!

They are breaking their own law, Russian law. They are nothing but draft dodgers and should be seen as fugitives from justice, Their own justice! They should be extradited

It was only a theory, I have no idea how they actually do this stuff, But I am certain they will be doing it. They literally cannot help themselves

I'll be plain for you and too hopefully you will be able to understand, The offence to which you are referring has been in the statute book of the Uk for probably more than 200 years, The actual offence that you seem bizarrely to have no knowledge of is "drunk and disorderly" Now I wrote that very slowly because I genuinely doubt that you can read very quickly I am reasonably certain a similar law exists in Thailand already The term "drunk and incapable" was a term often used jokingly in 1970's british comedy productions when a mans virility may have been impaired by alcohol on his wedding night for example And your examples of the degree of "incapability" as you put it don't cut it either there really is not that much difference between stepping into the road without looking and crossing the road without looking However you are bothering me so maybe you are still drunk and incapable from last night, or did you start (very) early today? Hope that was clear enough

Around 20 years ago I was involved in the construction of a large factory at a place called Broughton near Chester in the UK. The factory was built for the manufacture of the airbus wings , I am well aware of how Airbus construct their aircraft If you had bothered to read my post properly you would have better understood my assertion, which was,.. That if somebody wanted to indulge in a little corruption and perhaps line their own pockets by maybe purchasing a multi trillion baht aircraft at a possibly greatly inflated price using government money, It might not be as easy as just contacting airbus direct , having a quiet word , asking them to say nothing, and handing over a brown envelope, It might be necessary to involve several third parties to facilitate the process. and just maybe one of these third parties is based in America. The fact that the aircraft are built in several different countries has absolutely nothing to do with my post, I don't understand why you mentioned it. Were you expecting the Thais to fly around europe speaking to every manufacturer of all the various components asking them to load the prices ?
