You may be right, but it seems like "six of one and half a dozen of the other" , as they say both illogical as far as I am concerned

Probably for similar reasons that people who don't want the vaccine always have to be so vocal about it. They seem unable to just "not have it" without telling everybody. Then again if masks are so effective, why do people who do wear them get so bothered about those who don't ?

Many Thais are not blessed with common sense , Likewise many Thai government mandates are not based on common sense either. Indeed legislation is no substitute for , and does not promote common sense, as it reduces the need for people to think for themselves . A largely uneducated population is the easiest for governments to control and this countries population fits that description. They have had the fear of god put into them, and it will take a long time to get over it, Don't forget that people here, including the educated and some, possibly most, senior government officials are scared of ghosts ! I can only imagine its a similar situation everywhere to a varying degree due to a combination of people not normally being used to being controlled by fear, and governments being rather good at using propaganda to scare people when they feel it is necessary

Are you referring to a list similar to the UK 's H.P,I. (hire purchase index) ? I'm not sure that such a list exists, in which case it would be possible to get finance on a repaired car. I suspect it actually is possible to get finance, who told you otherwise? your wife ?? Many things are "possible" here ! If such a list actually does exist it could obviously only include damaged cars that were recorded and put on the list so it would probably only include cars that were damaged whilst on finance, or cars for which repairs were paid for by insurance companies. It is certainly possible to insure a damaged & repaired car as i have done that several times Easy enough to find out, If you find a damaged and repaired car that you want just apply to a finance company giving them the registration no of the car and see what they say Of course as a foreigner you will find it VERY difficult if not impossible to get finance on any car even a brand new one

I think "Drunk" is originally a slang word in english, specifically used for intoxication by alcohol, its origin is pretty self explanatory as alcohol is normally ingested by "drinking" The Thai word "mao" is a bit broader in its meaning, it equates to intoxication in general, and not necessarily by "alcohol" It is also used when describing sea sickness and car sickness even dizziness / lightheadedness etc so i reckon it just equates to "feeling a bit out of it" Normally the context in which it is used is enough to clarify what it means, so just saying "Mao" is enough but if its not obvious they will add another word to clarify when needed "Mao lao" drunk "Mao gancha" stoned "Mao yah" drugged up, often but not specifically, refers to intoxication with yah bah or yah E there's aso "Mao rot" car sick "Mao reua" seasick (literally boat sick) and lets not forget "Mao "rak" love sick (kunt struck or cock happy)depending on gender / sexual orientation I've heard Thais referring to being "yellow" and they do actually turn a bit yellow when having a "whitey" but as its difficult to get any sense out of them in that condition I've never found out for sure if it means a whitey or just being "twatted" like I am at the moment

Liz Truss’s premiership has got off to the worst start possible

So many relatively well off expats on here whinging about cost of living in the UK , claiming that they care. whilst at the same time trying to rub salt in the wounds by arguing for a labour government. Not one labour government has been responsible for improving the economy the last lot left things in a terrible state requiring years and years of austerity ( formerly known as living within one's means) to balance the books again. How can anybody wish for that to happen again. -

Well you have now , I am perfectly happy with my life and as a result of the recent budget I am even happier. The only thing that could make me happier still, is contributing less of my hard earned cash to enable the workshy, lifelong benefit claimants to continue their idle and pointless existence, Nobody is dreaming up punishments for theses spongers unless you consider the suggestion that they get off there backsides and go to work for a living equates to be a "punishment" of some sort -

money is getting tight , there has even been talk of cancelling the triple lock on pensions, That's obviously ok as long as the money taken away from our pensioners is diverted to the more deserving social security scroungers. It should be the other way round, cut their benefits and give it to the pensioners who actually cannot work anymore and really deserve it -

Their "enablers" seem to be very concerned for some inexplicable reason. It appears to be a form of virtue signalling, they enjoy that, in case anybody hadn't noticed -

Or it shows how fickle the markets can be , you may have noticed the pound has started to recover already, surely this can now be heralded as a positive sign or do we only comment when it drops, ? It would appear your understanding of things leaves a bit to be desired -

So you are prepared to sponsor somebody who does not agree to work to the tune of 6.72% ( strange figure) but ok , That's brilliant, I'll send you my bank details then we can make the process easier, as I was thinking of taking early retirement and living off benefits for the next 7 years with the help of a tame doctor and some advice from "welfare rights" and a couple more lefties like you on board I should bell well on the way to a life of leisure, I might even get myself an i phone and a few tattoos, I might even vote labour as an increase in benefits will no doubt be part of their next manifesto, -

CRT tv's are still available, both new and "second hand" which perfectly good enough for benefit claimants, after all as they say "beggars can't be choosers" Its perfectly possible to claim benefits without using the internet, as long as one is actually living in the UK. Benefits are designed to help people in emergencies on a temporary basis and are not designed to be used as a lifestyle choice -
