Travel Fake TDAC Website Emerges as New System Debuts in Thailand
VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
For obvious reasons, I haven't looked and won't be looking at this fake site but I don't quite understand why anyone would bother with it assuming that you have to enter the same amount of information as on the official site. What's the incentive to pay to do the same job as you could do for free? -
Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailandโs Tourist Charm

And you'd probably be right. I've no problem if you don't like the fact that I like the women, the bars and the sleaze. Adult things for adults! -

I'm dying to ask why not, but it's none of my business. Have you looked at the various European airlines, requiring a stop-off? -

Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailandโs Tourist Charm
VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Sort of, but, don't you think it is incumbent on you to go where the options suit you, rather than expect your choices to be made available everywhere? IMO, that is a major failing with tourists - going somewhere and not adapting. To go to extremes, otherwise, you'd be expecting the same options in Pattaya as you'd get in Monaco! That's one of the many reasons I choose Pattaya over Phuket, despite going to Phuket for 20 years, back in the day. Yes, everywhere is more expensive today, sadly, but my point there was that flight prices aren't necessarily the fault of Thailand - re-read my post. And, I stay in a lovely hotel, rated as 3 star but I think that's optimistic. However it's clean, aircon, WiFi, good pool, friendly staff, just off Soi Bukhau. Walking, Baht bus or Bolt distance to everywhere I like - 1100/night in Feb-April. Works for me! -
โGreek Styleโ sex (for Greeks) Have dinner, get the kids to bed, 10 minutes in the missionary position, Melina sleeps in the wet patch. Kiriaki and Panos hook up at a rave and get busy in the back of her Toyota Yaris. Marianna and Alexia spend an idyllic weekend at a hotel ordering room-service and working their way through 300 ml of Exotiq Sweet Strawberry Kissable Massage Oil. Yiannis and Panos go to a Truffaut retrospective and then after a brief spat about the relative merits of The Last Metro and Day for Night, they have a make-up 69 on the kitchen floor. Anastasia calls Kostas five minutes before he is due to referee the Super League football match between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. Her fertility predictor alarm has just gone-off and he had better get his arse home and deliver his little tadpoles in the next 30 minutes or else!! Aris is banging Irene but fantasizing about Marina who works down the supermarket. Aris comes in less time than the Olympic record for the 1500 metres and promptly falls asleep. As always, Irene finishes herself off with her trusty power tool! โGreek Styleโ sex (for non-Greeks) Danielle wears a Goddess dress off one shoulder and no underwear. Norman attempts to roger her for the entire 43 minutes and 11 seconds duration of a Best of Maria Callas CD by trying to remember the name of all nine Muses. Kyle and Krystal have a lamb kofta from the local kebab shop and then get off-their-faces on a hideous mixture of Ouzo, Retsina and Raki. They drunkenly perform the โZorba the Greekโ dance and gratuitously smash some crockery before briefly copulating on the couch and then throwing-up a lot. โGreek Styleโ sex (for deities) Males pretend to be something they are not (e.g. a bull, a swan, a satyr, a shepherd, an ant, a shower of gold, someoneโs husband) Females get seduced, conned, or raped. Rapistโs psycho wife then turns-up, blames the victim, and dumps more crap on the poor girl. Bonus prize: Victim transformed into a tree, or a constellation, or a cow, or a bear, or burned alive. โGreek Styleโ sex (for people that like sploshing) Get naked and liberally cover one another with sliced vine tomatoes, chopped cucumber, thinly sliced red onion, Kalamata olives, dried oregano, chunks of feta cheese and a liberal slug of extra virgin olive oil. You can now have Greek Style Salad sex. โGreek Styleโ sex (for people that like euphemisms) โGreek Styleโ is a polite way of referring to male homosexuality. More specifically, it means anal sex. (A choice occasionally used by heterosexual couples as a cheap form of contraception.) The name arises from the fact that homosexuality was regarded as an important morale-booster in the Ancient Greek military. It was felt that soldiers would fight more bravely in the company of their lovers. You get to shout โTHIS . IS . SPARTA!โ as someone plunges into an unexpected hole?

Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
VBF replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good post showing that it's really not that much of a challenge - bit like when the eVisa was first introduced, people were wailing and crying about it - I've had 3 of them from before the visa-free period was increased to 60 days - takes about 10 minutes including the payment process. Regarding your final paragraph: if tourists have the hotel name then presumably they have the address, and, if part of a tour, then a quick web search should show the full address. -
Tourism Thailand Vows to End Dual Pricing Amid Growing Tourist Backlash
VBF replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I did that once. I'd borrowed a friend's car and went with TGF of the time to Nong Nooch. On the way there, my friend's licence fell out of the sun visor, so when we arrived at NN, I showed it and got the Thai price. TGF looks at me and says "you don't look like Peter (my friend)" I couldn't resist it......my reply was "We all look the same to you lot" ๐ -
Report Cannabis Warning for Britons in Thailand: Leave It Behind or Risk Jail
VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Quite! But Gooding's a so-called "diplomat", or in plain English "A waste of space" If you're a Brit, living in Britain, you (should) know the law, ignorance of which is no excuse. If you're that bl**dy stupid you deserve what you get. -

VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What a nonsensical reply! EXPLAIN How am I "foraging" by walking down a street and going to a cafรฉ or restaurant or food hall where there are many local people eating good food? Why do I need to pay for fancy tableware and annoying air-conditioning just to eat boring foreign food in a country that produces (IMO) the tastiest food on the planet? If I'm a forager, you sir are an arrogant snob.๐ฅต -
Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailandโs Tourist Charm
VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
For you perhaps, but I prefer to leave such snobbish affectations in the West where they belong. Simply look to see where the Thai working people go and eat and follow them. Markets, food halls street food etc. I basically avoid Western food when I'm in Thailand and can still get a delicious dinner in Pattaya for under 100 Baht. Oh and a lot of the flight price rises are not down to Thailand - if you fly from UK for example, look to see how much of your fare is due to TAX and fees imposed by the UK gov. -
Ah feck it!

Breakfast in Pattaya - Ongoing Thread as I tour the best spots
VBF replied to ChuckInBangkok's topic in Pattaya
Indeed - when I was in Patts this year, it appeared to have expanded, and was still full. I've had several evening meals and cocktails there over the years, (never breakfast) and always found the only bad thing about it was actually being unable to get a seat. Good luck to them! -
My experience at Jomtien is about 5 years old so maybe things have changed. I always think if you look like your passport picture you're probably very unwell! Maybe they now compare the picture you supply with the one they take? I don't know. I only mentioned going and asking for passport sized pics 'cos that's what I did and it worked - then! I don't recall actually measuring them but I got a load of them. Sadly the "hansum man" in the pics isn't quite as hansum any more - tempus fugit regrettably. ๐ข

Me too, but I must say that this sort of misunderstanding could easily occur anywhere that posts on social media are taken out of context, which is of course, pretty much everywhere. The Thai police get a lot of criticism but I think they need to be congratulated on this occasion for carrying out an efficient investigation.

Ah you're assuming I'm an Agnostic theist, who, as you say, care. No...I'm an Agnostic who, as I say, doesn't care (about religion) I searched for "What is the difference between agnostics and agnostic theists?" and found https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-agnostics-and-agnostic-theists That link provides loads of reading, much of it contradictory. I leave you to plough through it if you wish. As for the time I'm spending, sometimes it's interesting to debate, agree, differ or whatever. My views haven't changed inasmuch as I have no idea whether god(s) exist, I cannot prove it either way and likely never will. Furthermore, if I was to somehow find proof that it or they did exist, my life probably wouldn't change for better or worse - THAT'S what I mean by not caring - as I said earlier, I'm very happy for others to care or not. Someone posted that I'm just apathetic - quite possibly but to be flippant, who cares about apathy? Not I Bottom line is that, in my personal life, religion and all that goes with it is just an abstract concept - discussing abstract things is interesting though. Clearer? Facetious afterthought, countering your mild sarcasm: In the words of Lewis Carroll โWhen I use a word,โ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, โit means just what I choose it to mean โ neither more nor less."
-
And there you have it ๐ For me it's all academic anyway because religion or lack of is for other people - I'm agnostic on the matter. ๐ As I've written several times, I really don't care and in fact perhaps we should all simply form our own views and just do what feel is right. As I also said earlier, as long as we're not harming others.
-
Ah thank you - agree about atheism...... Best wishes from Mr W. Washy ๐ (Who still doesn't care ๐ )
-
Not sure if you're challenging me or making a point? Clearly, being agnostic, I have neither because I haven't wasted my time because agnostics don't actually care! Having done a little searching, I find https://www.dictionary.com/e/atheism-agnosticism/ in which it says that atheists don't believe and agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve. In my case they don't really care!
-
No! That's atheists - so sceptical because there is no clear proof of religious beliefs. BUT, they want to prove their negative beliefs and persuade others to join them. Agnostics just think it (religion) is all nonsense and not worth worrying about.
