  1. Fires where I live are an annual occurrence and premeditated. There's a 10 km road that runs from where I live to Route 24. Everyday it is used as a rubbish dump by drivers traveling it. For the local amphur to clean this up after a year of dumping will be cost a lot and is labour intensive. So what they do every year, around this time, they send out a tractor, towing a grass shredder down this route shredding all accessible dumped rubbish and dry vegetation. We all know that once this has been done someone will put a match to it. Always done at night. Consequently we have this annual wild fires. No sooner that the fire has cooled then out come the self employed rubbish collectors who collect all none perishables and take it for recycling. Also done on the lane dividers on Route 24 where road users throw trash out of their car windows.
  2. I can't recall setting up my account but come to paying it always, automatically, comes up COD so I've always stuck with that.
  3. 100% correct. When I last went back to the UK my UK license was expired. I hired, and drove a car on a Thai license. Never a problem.
  4. I have a 9 incher but I've never used it a a rule.
  5. No Pit Bull mentioned in the story. Doh
  6. More kids are killed by cars/traffic accidents. Lets get rid of cars. Doh.
  7. That's a myth and total tosh. And I don't believe a vet told you that.
  8. If you're married, or in a relationship, get a family member to do it for you.
  9. Biggest killer of humans are mosquito's, 725,000 people per year. I don't see people jumping up and down demanding them to be outlawed.
  10. One of the last dogs one would judge as doing that.
  11. First person ever to receive a face transplant was a French woman who was mauled by her own pet Labrador
  12. We have an American Pitbull. Never a problem in 9 years. Best family dog I've ever owned.
  13. So are you saying it's incorrect?
  14. I had an accident with a motorcyclist. The guy only had one leg. (Keeping the story short.) They thought me to be at fault until my insurance agent showed them my dash cam footage. They then decided that the one legged man was at fault but because he was poor they didn't fine him the 1,400 Baht that they were going to.
  15. A must read https://perfecthomes.co.th/tm030-registration-thailand/#:~:text=Property owners in Thailand must, responsibility is with the owner. DrJack54 is wrong in his posts about TM30's
  16. For my first hand drawn map I photocopied it prior to giving it to immigration. They've accepted a photocopy every year thereafter.
  17. If the farang knows his rights then he needs to stand his ground instead of letting IO walk all over him.
  18. Can't you people understand that you're being taken for idiots? Immigration know full well that your average Thai won't pay 500 Baht every time a farang stays at their accommodation and he doesn't report the fact? It's much easier for IO to scam farangs than to chase Thais for money. Wake up. Not the Farang
  19. What kind of idiot carry's on going to IO knowing full well that if he hasn't got a TM30 in their passport he'll be sent home. Doh And what's a re-entry permit got to do with a TM30?
  20. The actual legal definition of the law in Section 38 of the Immigration Act of 1979 is: “Landlords and leaseholders that receive a non-immigrant resident on their premises, have a legal obligation to report that individual to Thai immigration; this report needs to be completed within a 24-hour period of the non-immigrant resident’s arrival.” https://herorealtor.com/simple-guide-to-tm30-thailand-immigration-requirements/
  21. No I haven't. I've been here 18 years and not once have I, and many others, had to submit a TM30.
