  1. 'Attempts' have been made and are probably still ongoing but can you state categorically where there are functioning motorcycle lanes used solely for motorcycles?
  2. 'Schemes' yes in Bangkok but are any in use at this time? If the pilot project proves the special lanes are effective, the department will expand the project to other areas in Bangkok. https://www.pattayamail.com/thailandnews/bangkok-to-designate-special-lanes-for-motorcycles-388680
  3. There are NO motorcycle lanes in Thailand. Google is yer friend.
  4. Used to be that Buriram IO were their own agents. Dunno if still doing it but it wouldn't surprise me.
  5. As I wrote earlier today. Ignorance isn't an excuse in the eyes of the law.
  6. And I believe most accidents occur in/on the hard shoulder which Thais firmly believe to be a motorcycle lane.
  7. I agree to a certain extent. The helmet should also meet a safety approval test.
  8. I'd have thought Buriram would have been up there.

  11. No. Make the law so the punishment fit the crime. There's other ways to punish people other than to fine them.
  12. You can't have 2 laws. One for the rich and one for the poor.
  13. No it isn't because if it did there wouldn't be so many accidents. Fine them yes but make the fine hurt.
  14. I had a car accident with a motorcyclist a few years back. The m'cyclist only had one leg. Irrespective the cops wanted to do me for causing the accident. https://studio.youtube.com/video/16Zo4DXgohI/editLuckily my insurance guy turned up to assist at the police station. He knew I had a dashcam and asked the police to view it. After the police saw the video they decided that he was at fault. But due to him being poor they didn't fine him the 1400 Baht they were going to basing it on the man being poor and not being able to afford it. All a load of tosh. 4:17 into the vid. https://studio.youtube.com/video/16Zo4DXgohI/edit
  15. Not if you take all the mitigating circumstances into account.
  16. May be because the truck owner didn't have insurance or just had the mandatory Por Ror Bor insurance. Either way do you really think the police would come down on the farangs side?
  17. So why put himself in a position of being mocked if what you say is true? He's not a stupid man and I'm sure he's thought this through.
  18. A Danish guy, some years back, rode his moped the 370km, one way, from our village to Pattaya 4 times a year to go to immigration.
  19. Irrespective of whether I gain or lose from corruption the fact is it is illegal. 4https://thelawreviews.co.uk/title/the-anti-bribery-and-anti-corruption-review/thailand#:~:text=Penalties for officials demanding or,to 400%2C000 baht%2C or death.
