I don't see that. Any Russian skipping call up will get his punishment upon return. And return he will do at some time or other. What countries are actually taking in Russian draft dodgers at this time? In the short term Thailand may be assisting with dodgy extensions but that's not long term. No point in delaying the inevitable. If it is then Russia will shut it down and Thailand will be in the do do with Russian tourists being stopped from coming to Thailand as punishment to Thailand.

My understanding is they do not. It's use is suspended by the courts. Use it before the suspension comes into effect and............................ So it's unlikely his passport was suspended.

In the likes of rural Thailand mental problems are seen to be caused as being possessed by bad spirits. It used to be, might be still, that the family would take the possessed person to a temple and have the monks literally beat the spirits out of the possessed person. Not long after I came here in 2005 there was a case in the newspaper where the monks beat a young woman so badly that she was hospitalized due to the injuries the monks inflicted on her. Police became involved but I don't recall how the event ended.
