  1. Hence why I said 'BS'. They're very unlikely to ask for something that will make them lose face. I've told you this before. Never in my 50+ years of travelling the world has any copper in whatever country ever asked me for my passport. May be they can judge a person on appearance?
  2. Only 2 places I take my passport and they are the bank and immigration. Both only once a year. For those that claim a policeman ask for their passport surprises me as I doubt yer average Thai plod would know what he's truly looking at. For sure he's not going to understand the date stamps as Thais have their own calander years. He sure as hell wouldn't know what the immigration stamps are for.
  3. And I say those that bow to any command cus they're bricking it that cause all the problems at immigration.
  4. Can't you go some ways in to why you recommend. It helps
  5. For me I find the most stupid thing is that they want my children's photo's as well. Apparently up until they turn 20. Don't they exist after that?
  6. Ex PM Abhisit Vejjajiva has British citizenship. Odds on he can own Thai land. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abhisit_Vejjajiva#Early_life_and_family
  7. If you have children you need to have the children in the photo.
  8. Don't forget 'no cost' to do the transfer. If the officer says there is a charge then tell him you will want a receipt.
  9. Same goes for my 3 kids. Also we never gave them 'nicknames' which seems to be compulsory in Thailand for whatever reason.
  10. No it's called an excavator the rear arm on an excavator is called a 'back actor' or a 'rear actor'
  11. You go in person to the office to where you registered.
  12. If it got rejected then you must have entered something incorrect such as a date. I did mine but put in my birth date wrong. I noticed after about 5 days of waiting and I deleted my error before time was up. I believe they have 7 days total to respond to your application. This thread may help.
  13. Thanks to all that have replied to date. I understand what you all say but at the end of this my wife and daughter are my stumbling block. They have this vision of being famous and if it doesn't work out someone will have to take the blame. I will write down, and ask, all the questions I feel need to ask. And I will ask for a contract copy before we go to Bangkok and have a lawyer give it the once over first. It's all a coincidence as I just purchased a new T-Shirt tuther day.
  14. My/our main concern is that it's taken a few years to get to where we are today and it would destroy my daughter if by being too inquisitive with questions it may go against her and GMM not bother with signing her up. My wife believes our daughter's education and accommodation will have to be financed by us and may well be out of our financial range. It may mean that my wife will have to move to Bangkok to stay with her while I remain in the NE and look after our other 2 children. Too many questions to ask.
  15. Our daughter (luk khrueng) aged 15 is a very forward child and has been pushing herself in attending various talent auditions in Bangkok and NE Thailand over the years. She sees herself as a singer/musician. She plays the guitar and obviously sings. Anyways yesterday we/she got notification that a company in Bangkok want to sign her up. The company being'GMM'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMM_Grammy. Between now and April they want us to go to Bangkok to sign a contract. Only problem being is that I haven't a clue as to what that will entail. Do we have to hire a lawyer ourselves? Will they school her? House her? Many questions we need answering but know of no one that can help us. Hence why I'm asking on the forum. May be, just may be, some one can help us. Any sensible advice will be appreciated.
  16. I reckon BS on that as yer average Thai policeman would not know what he's looking at if he was to see your passport and he wouldn't want to embarrass himself in trying to prove there's a problem with it. .
  17. In 17 years I've only been asked for my driving license. Hang on I've NEVER been asked for it. I automatically hold it up when being stopped. Never been asked for my passport and I never carry it or carry a photocopy. Some people just worry too much.
  18. In English it does. Google for it in Thai. Or just translate. Law Text Land Code Act 1954 (up to 2008 amendments) https://www.samuiforsale.com/law-texts/law-text-land-code-act-1954.html
  19. Like most kids my 3 don't like eating vegetables. Comes with time. In place of the vegetable loss I make sure they always eat fruit as an after instead. The choice is then there as to their preference. One or the other in our house.
