Accident Retired Police Figure from 'Boss' Case in New Hit-and-Run Controversy
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The usual Thai BS and so surprising he just happens to be a retired policeman with a close association to the Red Bull hit & run incident! His explanation is an indication of his level of intelligence, ethics & morality, maybe the pre schoolers would believe his story! -
If you have in fact done 400 plus dives then you would have been around a few novices who often struggle with buoyancy control and in doing so end up sticking a fin or their knee onto the reef/coal which causes damage to the often fragile coral. Having a camera and attempting to take pictures enhances their instability and also takes their focus off keeping their fins & knees etc off the coral. Having logged more than 3500 dives in Papua New Guinea I have seen this coral destroying practice many times and even from certified divers which you obviously are so you should really know this happens and support the law. I am sure other divers associations members would totally agree with this as most like myself are keen to preserve the reefs. I hope you are also!!!! Yes the dropping of anchors is devastating to reef life and the practice of the ill informed, uneducated & selfish!

Travel Weak Baht Offers Pattaya Tourism Potential Boost Amid Low Season

Typical Thai reporting, what makes these morons think the baht is weak when in fact it is quite strong, dribble, dribble & more dribble!! -
Immigration Thai PM Tackles Overstaying Tourists with Visa-Free Scheme Revamp
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Lets be honest, the level of corruption in Thailand is relatively high & wide spread with more interest in collecting brown envelopes than enforcing the laws so offering visa free to so many countries just opens the flood gates for all the riff raff to drift in and do what they like. The quality tourist over the quantity should be their focus and will automatically reduce these problems but the short sighted greed for money is just too much to resist and too difficult for them to foresee the future. They dont want the back packers but they want the Indians & Chinese, generally speaking the difference being the back packers generally behave themselves, stay longer and spend a similar amount on a daily basis, are not here to work illegally or involved in scams! Will the authorities ever wake up? -

Travel Thailand's Chinese Tourism Faces Crisis as Arrivals Plummet
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thailand tourism despite its constant rants about Chinese tourists has always wished for quality tourists rather than quantity tourists and its very true which is the preferred tourist by the hospitality operators. So now 1 of these budget traveller countries is not coming they are squealing like stuck pigs!!! I say great, spend your time and effort attracting larger spending travellers !! BTW its April and bloody hot so maybe thats a contributing factor that these morons have overlooked!! Vietnam has the same issue! -

American Tourist Dies in Phuket After Night Out Drinking with Friends
paul1804 replied to Georgealbert's topic in Phuket News
Quite likely he was not drinking exactly what he was ordering, methanol etc can be lethal and when it comes to money peoples morals so often become non existent! Very sad for his family and friends! I hope forensics reveal the real autopsy details ??? Last night in my restaurant a couple came in to order takeaways, she had obviously been drinking and during the short time they were here she collapsed in my toilet, her boyfriend called an ambulance and she left on a stretcher barely conscious, you have to be so careful what & where you drink! -

Chinese Men Caught Removing Documents from Collapsed Building in Bangkok
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Chinese standards & workmanship, are you surprised! CREC & CRCG did a few projects in Papua New Guinea when I lived there, same level of workmanship, 1 of their high rise projects got condemned for substandard materials and failing to install as per stipulated materials! It the same all over the Pacific where they win contracts on price and brown envelopes, cut corners like this latest debacle in Bangkok, so nothing has changed, I guess they fit in quite well in Thailand!!! -

paul1804 replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
What about Thailand's recent deportation of the Uyghers to china and the treatment they will likely receive once back in China!! "This groundbreaking initiative marks a major step forward in aligning Thai law enforcement practices with global human rights standards, reinforcing the RTP’s commitment to public safety, legal compliance, and ethical policing" -
Motorbike Clash: Tourist and Ladyboy Tussle on Pattaya Streets - video
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
When will the authorities educate these female imposters not to hassle tourists and cause trouble. I say give them a male haircut ( short back & sides ) as first offence punishment and that might just get their attention to behave themselves. Like this altercation the fragile ego's in this country are pathetically concerning!! "Because we didnt have our motorbikes it felt demeaning" thats the sort of response you would expect from a overly spoilt child!! -

Thailand Weighs Designated Drinking Zones for Tourists

Thailand Weighs Designated Drinking Zones for Tourists
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It would be very simple to make all hotels & restaurants allowed to serve alcohol as per their licensed operating hours like most developed country's so no 2 - 5pm restrictions & no alcohol free holy days!! But maybe thats too simple for Thailand who loves complications and hanging on to draconian outdated laws that make no sense!!! -
Bars in Thailand Set to Close This Week for Buddhist Holiday
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Its a rather outdated law but thats the case for many laws in Thailand including the silly 2 - 5pm, the Election Day ban etc, surely in this day & era it should be dont drink alcohol on the day if thats how you feel, much like some Catholics dont eat meat on Fridays!!! The irony of these silly laws is that a large percentage of Thai's including the makers of these laws will have an alcoholic drink on the day so it makes little sense, maybe in the next century they will get up to speed with reality??
