  1. Just an uneducated tosser who thinks in his tiny mind that slapping some innocent Cambodian will change anything. Like the Burmese the Cambodians are in Thailand to fill the labour shortage and often doing tasks that Thais feel are either beneath them or may involve work!!! It also gives them a feeling of superiority looking down on the "Brown People" as they call them.
  2. So their scam centre's can get back to scamming people!!!!!
  3. I need to stop reading these TAT, TCT & other similar agencies articles! They contract themselves weekly, obviously dont proof read their stories and mostly offer a bunch of dribble. In my area wholesalers are experiencing a better June/July than the last few years, tourist accommodation for August is almost completely booked so it can't be all doom & gloom in the tourist industry. Yes Thailand is no longer the budget destination it once was but thats not really a bad thing because budget destinations so often attract budget tourists and Thailands deficient infrastructure is overloaded, remember Thais dont see the bigger picture where better infrastructure attracts tourist with bigger spending budgets. One day they will get it so lets hope for those in the industry its not to late. Thailand is still a relatively cheap destination globally, locally produced food, housing, restaurants, fuel etc etc. Hopefully the Tarrif war will lower the cost to the consumer of Thai imports which globally are on the expensive side, compliments of a greedy short sited government but I suppose its an easier way to collect revenue!!!
  4. To keep a whole bunch of unproductive people employed at the Tax payers expense!!
  5. That is Thailand & it is the Thai military, what else can you say but unbelievable & a disgrace against humanity!
  6. Last week its doom & gloom & the next week it claiming high tourist numbers so at least this article is somewhere in between. With poor infrastructure, rising prices, scams, Taxi mafia, violence, safety & outdated visa rules are just a few reasons why Thailand often struggles with attracting more tourists. Their marketing strategies target the wrong nations, if you are going to offer bargain hotel rates at least offer it to tourists who will actually spend money when the arrive but Thailand makes these offers to low spending nations!! It appears their preference is to attract numbers & not spenders!
  7. Exactly right and many seem to overlook this fact!!
  8. Given the apparent injuries the RTP should already should have the guy detained! The guy probably holds some position or is well known in the community so they are reluctant to act.
  9. Like several other countries political adversaries or anti government voices seem to either disappear or are detained/imprisoned! Call it what you like but it happens!
  10. Hun Sen was a Khmer Rouge commander, him and his family both part of a regime that committed horrendous crimes against humanity while serving under Pol Pot!! His family dynasty has partaken to this day in a watered down version of Pol Pots massacre!! Not too much different from the current situation in Myanmar where an illegal regime is systematically murdering its people for their own personal gains and Thailand in a sense embraces that illegally instated Junta regime! China also plays a huge part in all of these countries, there for its own financial gain at the expense of the people! Most of the scam centres in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand & Myanmar are Chinese operated ripping off citizens of the world.
  11. I guess that depends on the size of the Brown envelopes!!
  12. Thaksin has the good of the country at heart! Better him than the likes of Anutin and most of the other clowns that masquerade as leaders but are mostly their for their own personal gain!!
  13. Maybe the Thai's feel more comfortable with Indians & Chinese, certainly people from those regions have more in common with Thais and share quite a number of their practices, ethics & living standards. That's probably why tourists from those nations get offered preferential pricing with hotels & flights etc, for the Westerners they just want their money, come, spend and leave!
  14. If you read the statement published in May & again in June all registered restaurants, bars & hotels etc in the Thai tourist regions are permitted to sell alcohol on those Buddhist holidays, not just Phuket!!
  15. And that's what Thailands "supposed" elite & the military weren't happy with!!
  16. Personally I think Thaksin is the better choice of the current lot, Pita would have made a difference! Thailand needs to have a "democratic" election without military influencing the results.
  17. I often ask myself how many cannabis shops sell just cannabis related products in terms of drugs? Associating with users of cannabis often leads to the use of other substances that are illegal. I have been told numerous times by cannabis users that cocaine is a very readily available in Thailand! Join the dots and I can see why the authorities realise they have a Tiger by the tail!!!
  18. Just remember who granted his return to Thailand arrangement!!
  19. Most of us know different societies have different standards and sadly the Indians and Chinese generally speaking are budget tourists with different social standards to most westerners, there are always exceptions but I am generalising. For reasons unbeknown Thailand embraces these non western societies with greater advertising budgets & offering cheaper packages mainly with Hotel rates. Why would any organisation purposely target a lower spending sector that has social standards that even Thailand rejects yet this is a continued practice, it just makes no sense but then it is Thailand!!
  20. They can afford them and they weren't a priority, their law & order, infrastructure and education is far more established & advanced than Thailand, thats why!!!
  21. Pull the other leg, Thailand! When are you going to wake up or is that too much to expect!!! Budget tourists are not the answer to your wishes, quite the opposite actually!! The more resources you spend on attracting low spending tourists the social issues associated will deter high spending tourists from coming!
  22. Why does Thailand need submarines & fighter jets, spend the money on education, health, law & order & infrastructure. Invest in your future like Japan & Singapore while you have the chance. You have no regional enemies so do not need all these worthless toys that you won't look after & maintain!!!
