Only gullible fools think there is some good for them in the Belt and road. It's all about China getting goods out and raw material in. And their military out if needed. I think too many brown envelopes have blinkered the view of reality of many of those in power.

Ah, yes, I remember how that happened last time, after central banks started pumping money into banks after 2008: hyperinflation, massive price increases by a thousand percent, I had to transport bank notes in a wheelbarrow to buy a loaf of bread and a bottle of water.
Having a flashback to your youth in the Weimar Republic ay!

Football and jet skies are of no interest to me. What I would like to see are girl's wrestling in custard instead of jello or mud. That could keep me entranced for hours! ????

The cynical me's first though was: For a country like Thailand with very few dairy farmers there seems to be a lot of cream in that budget for extras! And why go, the Dutch are big trading partners with Thailand anyway. Not much to be gained from this junket.

I get it now! At one of their many conferences the moderator said to everyone "Write down on a piece of paper some crazy idea about getting tourism up and running again" They all did. And I thank them from the bottom of my heart for the abundance of humour and occassional belly laughs I enjoy when day by day they release those crazy ideas to the media. Thank you TAT.

Whilst I revel in the humourous comments from other posters and now each morning eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new day to drink from that fountain of insanity that emanates from government circles the unintentional humour....I feel the occasional pinge of dispare at the plight of those effected by this insanity. Ordinary people just getting by, no money in the bank, no safety net... It's hard for them and it's harder with a government that cares not what they suffer. So that humour I find entertaining comes with a dark side for others.

Watching the progress of this crazy train project is akin to watching the movement of a glacier towards the ocean!

A bit of competition is good news for consumers. Not so good for any producers who are not moving with the times.

Look at the very first picture in the post where there is a blue passenger coach and the coach wreck, and tell me that it's a single track again.
Yep, should have said separate track. But footage of a prior accident with a passenger train some time back has been seen by some and mistakenly attributed to this accident.

Those eyewitnesses did not then see what is shown on the video ie the bus did not stop at the crossing, simply drove straight over it without looking to the left.
If as they say another train had passed from the right, why was that not shown on the CCTV video. Total lies from them.
It's a single track at that point. Freight trains and express trains (don't laugh) would have a green distance signal and a green on the home signal to indicate the points were laying for the mainline. If the train was to go into the 2 road through the points the distance would be on reduce to medium (yellow over green) and red over green on the home signal. If the freight train was going into the yard the home signal would be red over red with a low speed light. Not sure of the colour here in Thailand but purple or yellow is often used back home with the speed indicated on that signal if lower than the normal slow speed attributed to the low speed light.
A bit hard to tell but it could be a SDA3 locomotive that can do 100kph.....but no idea if it was in fact doing that speed. With bogie wagons as seen it may.

Also, he expected that Thailand would be the first country to allow Chinese tourists to enter after the Chinese government allowed its citizens to travel overseas, as these tourists would help boost the country's economy.
Insane, the country that gave the whole world a severe virus will be the first country to visit Thailand. Like nothing has happened.
Apparently they are not coming! All revealed in another thread. ????

Months ago in the first thread I said the ones who benefit will be that big dogs and apart from a few token somchais the small farmers won't get a fair go. And I also said the big dogs already has a license even before the legislation came into effect. Grumpy and cynical!

Just this one report substantiates what has been up to now only
accusations and theories. So we can assume from this that every government announcement is either a lie, a series of lies, half truths, or lacking in sufficient detail to be considered the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Sharp summed it up nicely! With household debt Being the 300 pound gorilla on everyone's back it is difficult to see how more spending will help the regular people. Sure it will help the Bangkok elites....but for the other 69 million....no!
