I've been to Ranong and seen the existing deep sea port. If they want to make it work more efficiently they will need to spend twice as much on roads so that they can handle large volumes of truck traffic. That would include road tunnels through the hills.
For size comparison there are 2 navy patrol boats tied up at the North end.

Smoke and mirrors comes to mind. Even if he is assisted by the police in his endeavor to find Thailand once he gets here there is no guarantee the course of justice will be true and swift.

I read the other day 38 have died this year because of dengue fever with 60.000 effected. Many thousands die on the roads each year and little is done to curb that. The flu takes many many people each year. People die from diabetes, cancer, lung disease, suicide. So, to those in power and to us normal people death is an everyday thing, it happens everyday for whatever reason yet the Wuhan China virus is being treated differently. Why? Is it a power game? Prayuths much loved emergency decrees seem to be coming every month on a regular basis now. Honestly I am finding it hard to understand how they can destroy the economy and effect many millions when only 59 have died.

LG (Lifes Good) make phones in Vietnam....or Korea. That will be my next cell phone....soon. Shopee isn't a patch on Lazada, which is owned by the Alibaba guy.

Do tell...why would the US Army waste their time training Thai soldiers?

Grid tied roof top solar installations are a good way to go. With solar panels improving all the time and using solar tracking systems a few dozen houses in a village can be a great help. We could add 10-12 kW to that grid with rooftop on our house and shed.

The land district came here and wanted the farmer here to change to the same title from por bor tor 5. Everyone said thank you but bo thanks. They waiting for the promisses of chanote now should be fullfied. The other title you talking about can not change title right?
The King could reclaim the land...but in the current environment I doubt he would discuss the matter. But where there is a will there is a way and my guess is the mine owners have become very cosy with some people in government. No brown envelopes will remain unfilled.

What the ell is he smoking? Double the output in one year! Would be incredibly interesting to find out how he plans to do that? Maybe he will be nominated for a Nobel Prize for his efforts at producing humourous comments!

What were are looking for is a tree that can tolerate exposure to overspray from pesticides and other chemi that would blow across land we have reserved for organic grape production or maybe other use. But we'd need a tree that can exist in a plantation grouped reasonably closely and grow no more than 7-9 metres high. Fruit production is not a priority. The prevailing wind most of the time is from the South East. But the possible fly in that ointment is the Chatree gold mine wants a huge swath of land Kho Kheaw which is Moo 5 Wang Phlong all the way down towards Nam Om in Phetchabun including the 60 rai of land which is for Tik and her brothers when Mar goes to live with the forebears. Of which 20 rai WE could grow vines on. So, the mine could get 500.000rai without the many orchardists and farmers getting proper compensation. Sor por Cor land was given to the people at the Kings pleasure..... No title just peoples name in a book possessed by Po Ya Ban. If your thinking that sounds Dodgy....you would be right. We can't do a dam thing until then issue is settled...one way or another.

'Much addo about something trivial' springs to mind! Wasn't that the name of a old Marylin Monroe movie? ????

So delighted this year, and do not need to water anything for months. Full tanks, and full pond. The trees growing to quick and the soil to soft, so we have to support them and guide them for not falling over.
Trees one year now, and the Yangna trees thrives very well. Non of them need any support so far.
Looks like a great place to live....you have a spare room? THis Yangna tree you mention, does it produce fruit? Does it have a Western name?

If there is oversight of teachers then the overseers are failing badly. Maybe some tough measures are needed from higher up the education chain.

I haven't seen or used the word beserk for so long I had forgotten it existed! As I said on farcebook "With some criminals they should be locked up and the key thrown away. " What I forgot to add was some should be executed to save the taxpayers some money.

Well, well, well! Mother nature has blessed us with more water during the night...not that we needed more water! Some of the ones growing long stem rice have had the misfortune of the rain knocking over large swaths which may need to be hand harvested...if in fact it can be harvested. At the house 50+mm at the orchard 50+mm and at #2 orchard 45.0mm

It's a huge undertaking and I doubt it will work out as well as expected. I have a suspicion companies will employ new people who come with the government's 50% subsidy but let go other people already employed by the same company. It's the way big companies work that makes me suspect that. I am guessing some bean counters have already crunched the numbers.

If your under 60 years of age and have no medical problems the need for worry is low. 60-75 with no medical problems moderate concern but if your dealing with a medical condition there is a lot to be worried about. Over 75... ⏰

Poppycock! Are they so stupid to realise a lot of export products depend on people in other countries having disposable income which is a bit scarce these days. I used to think their stupidity was humourous...now I find it somewhat annoying!

Hire the sex worker.
Forget the sex worker only want there money, not there love.
Lonely guy promise to send money from there country.
The sex worker accept the money. Sure, why not.
The sex worker work same when they return to the country. But lie. Say sweeet things. Lonely guy think is love.
Then lonely guy say will make house for sex worker. Thai law is must be the sex worker name the chanote/nor sor
sex worker then sell her land she/family already owner to the lonely guy.
then she need furniture, car, school for her kid, etc etc.
get married. Pay 500,000 sinsod for sex worker with kids already.
lonely guy decide will live in thailand. Dream be same Phuket everyday, lot of farang, farang food, thai speak English. Will be wonderful.
but, she build the house in Issan village.
Nobody speak English, no farang food.
Nobody want be freind with the sexpat.
Lonely guy lonely again, wife play cards, drink and drug with freinds everyday, boring listen to lonely guy complain and complain.
The man in village lazy to speak with lonely guy= lonely guy will hate thai man.
Lonely guy think all thailand is same the small village in Issan. He expert about “ Thainess” now.
So he join TVF forum and give advice everyday.
When the money finish, sex worker will finish with him. For what? She need money. Her job.
He will cry he scammed.
She will think he stupid. It was business deal. Not love.
He will hate all Thai people and culture.
Lonely again. Lonely and poor.
Bad decision.
Maybe is good idea NOT legal sex worker. Safety for the foreigner.
????
You seem to have an intimate knowledge of how the game is played!

I am a bit different, I know exactly where my money is! And how much! A couple of years ago I left 18k baht in the little zipper pocket in my shorts which went through the wash. That was the first time I didn't know where my money was ever! Got it back the next day as good as new.

Heavy rain to lash country from Wednesday to Friday
in Thailand News
Posted
We are in the lower North so may not get another lashing...not that there is anything wrong with a good lashing now and then... but every container and drum and tank we have is full of water so all it can do is cause flooding which is annoying and destructive.
