  1. You just described 80% of the posts here. It's getting harder and harder to find actual useful info that is real on this site.
  2. I doubt they will back out of this one. The first year or two will be a bit of a gong show but things will eventually settle down.
  3. I used that VIP service several months ago. No complaints. They handle all the paperwork for you so that is of some value. Includes lunch at an outdoor roadside place on the way back. Worth the additional baht to me for the extra elbow and leg room over the cheaper service. Don't count on getting too much sleep with all the weaving and bumping along on the highway. My hope is that I will qualify for that new 180 day visa next trip and will not have to do this again. One problem with doing Cambodia border runs is that they put this huge visa sticker in your passport that takes up a whole page. Now I don't have many empty pages left even though I got the higher page count version. I will probably have to renew my passport early just because of that. If it weren't for covid it would have been filled up by now.
  4. It's a hugely popular diet now a days so I would be surprised if you could not find read to eat meals in Thailand. It's easy enough to eat keto friendly food in Thailand without doing that. Khao Man Gai is a perfect example of healthy street food. Just eat the boiled chicken and veggies and leave the rice. You can eat the skin too if you want. If you just ate that and salad every day you would lose weight quite quickly. Spit roast chicken is another easy to find example. BBQ chicken/pork skewers. Schwarma on a plate without the pita and without too much of that white sauce which has lots of sugar. There is lots of good stuff that is easy to find in Thailand, you just need to learn to avoid the bad stuff, like rice and noodles. I leave most of that huge mound of rice on my plate. Maybe only eating a couple tablespoons worth. When I get a noodle bowl I eat the meat and veggies in there and leave most of the noodles. It may seem like a waste but rice and noodles are cheap in Thailand. They will give the uneaten stuff to the soi dogs.
  5. You are probably going to get hammered in here for asking about these for profit diet schemes which most people will agree do not sustainably work. Keto diet will work wonders though. Basically, you just try cut out as much carbs and sugar as you can. So no rice, no noodles, no Thai curries with lots of sugar in them, no bread, no pastries, no candy bars. All these years they have been telling us that saturated fat and cholesterol is bad and causes heart disease, but studies now show that it's actually carbs and sugar. The only fat that is bad is any industrial processed fat, like you get from vegetable/seed oils that have been made using high temperatures. Anything referred to as trans-fat or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil also means heat processed. The only fat processing that is not bad is if it doesn't use any heat. Sometimes referred to as cold pressed. The good news for Thai food lovers is that coconut oil is considered good. A little tricky trying to find Thai food that is not fried with the bad oils and little or no sugar though.
  6. Atorvastatin is very cheap in Cambodia if you ever go there. 30x10mg for $3 US (110b). I have also heard of guys buying it online from India.
  7. You don't even have any bank interest? Usually, you still have to file a NIL tax return in the west even if you have no taxable income, but I am certainly no expert on Thai tax law.
  8. LOLing these stories trying to normalize a convicted sex offender who has more felonies than Baskin-Robbins has flavors.
  9. You will still have to get a Thai tax number and file a Thai tax return, so just one more thing to deal with, even if you pay someone to do it for you.
  10. Have you considered using a cash pickup service like Remitly or Western Union? I don't think that will be subject to tax either (?) and should end up less expensive than ATM fees.
  11. A lot of them are. Mostly the same people who would have voted for the guy that has more felonies than Baskin-Robbins has flavors. Darwinism is working as intended.
  12. Traffic in Pattaya is getting pretty bad. Jomtien traffic is not much better. At least in BKK you have a transit system to help avoid it. I am seriously considering alternatives now. Phuket is definitely not one of them. Way too touristy and expensive. Hua Hin is not bad. The air pollution sees lots of triple digit days all over Thailand during burning season, so there is no escape from that. It is making me look elsewhere, like the Philippines. The tradeoff is the infrastructure and food is not as good, but at least I can still breath there.
  13. That is would be the 3rd time the date changed, so I wouldn't count on that one either.
  14. Yea, it's not like the world class loser was convicted of 34 felonies or something because that would be really bad....oh wait.
  15. Sadly, this is pretty tame stuff compare to all the the other things the convicted felon has been found guilty of.
  16. In the newly unsealed documents, Ms Ransome testified that her unnamed friend “was one of the many girls that had sexual relations with Donald Trump” – including at Epstein’s New York townhouse. “She confided in me about her casual ‘friendship’ with Donald. Mr Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her ‘pert nipples’,” she testified. She then described in graphic detail how Mr Trump allegedly caused pain to the victim’s nipples – and claimed she saw the resulting injury firsthand. “I also know she had sexual relations with Trump at Jeffery’s NY mansion on regular occasions as I once met Jen for coffee, just before she was going to meet Trump and Epstein together at his mansion,” she said. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-jeffrey-epstein-documents-b2475210.html?utm_source=reddit.com
  17. Apparently there is some kind of treatment for chronic tinninitus now. I haven't heard too much about it since it was first reported so not sure how well it works. It involves listening to that same tone which basically trains your hearing to ignore it I guess.
  18. I doubt it since this is not for permanent residents.
  19. It doesn't explain why they made it good for 5 years instead of just one year if it's a one use multi-entry similar to the current 6 month multi-entry tourist visa. Nobody needs to get a visa more than one year in advance. I think a more likely possibility is that it's re-usable every year for up to 5 years (with only one 180day extension in 5 years). Probably having to pay 10k for each 180 day period because that would be a similar price to the current 6 month multi-entry tourist visa.
  20. Not that I think this is necessary. Democrats have been doing very well in byelections since Roe v Wade was overturned and this decision will only increase Dem voter turnout in the general.
  21. This ruling should do wonders for Democrat voter turnout. The convicted felon is not even the problem. That compulsive lying loser is just a symptom. He is pre-dementia and will probably be dead soon anyways, like his father.
  22. Biden should just declare convicted felons ineligible to run for president. He may as well just declare himself president for life while he is at it. It would be an official act after all and that is total cool now. If he doesn't do that the convicted felon will if he manages to win, so may as well just preempt that now that the supremes have given the thumbs up.
  23. Obviously OP has been been jumped by a group of them.
