I've entered Thailand twice on a DTV. No questions and immediately stamped through both times. The airline also checked and it was the same thing. It's like having the golden ticket. I am on the digital nomad one if that makes a difference. It's possible they may look a little closer at the soft power ones since they are easier to fudge. If I was doing a soft power one I would definitely want to sign up for something legit. May as well try get some benefit out of it at the same time instead of trying to fake it using shady agents to avoid getting some other benefit from it other than being able to stay longer.

Still lots of Apple lemmings around willing to stand in line for hours to get the next iPhone once a year. I never have and probably never will own an Apple product. I was considering getting a used iPhone last year but after looking at prices, used Samsung Galaxy S phones offered better value.

What's amusing is this stuff Faux News implants into your easily influenced brains on a daily basis because of a lack of critical thinking skills.

IDK, that seems to me like one of the first manual labor things that could be automated with robots. I don't think plumbers and most other people in trades have anything to worry about though. We are still a very long way from robots being able to do that. It's mostly just whitecollar stuff that will be disrupted.

The positives will outweight the negatives. AGI will be smarter than humans and will be able to invent all sorts of new things. Discover new physics. Create new medical treatments. I think that is worth the negatives that will also come with it. Current AI is already smarter than 90% of humans by most metrics. We see hints of that right now. It has revolutionized programming. Stuff that used to take me hours now takes minutes. A lot of people think it will help make a major scientific discovery within the next couple years. Something that may not have been possible before or sped it up by many years.

There are also people who smoked cigars till 100. Doesn't mean it's good for you.
