Trump's First 100 Days: Supporters Weigh Progress, Pain, and Promises
Dirk Z replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Anyone here proud to be an American these days? -
In cases where there is the ++ (i.e. 10% service charge) I don't tip. In other cases proportionally, usually not more than 20-50 baht. My taxi ride is usually around 60-65 baht, if it is a driver that starts the meter directly I always give 100. Taxi's are absurdly cheap, these guys make little money, work hard and the rates have hardly changed in the past 20 years or so.

Pneumonia is a common disease in old people and even among doctors called "the old man's friend". The pope had a very high age, you have to die of something. So, completely physiological in the cycle of life.

I have made road trips in many countries (Europe, US, S-Korea, Japan) and from that I know that if you like, or at least don't mind, a lot of driving you can make a round trip through Thailand. Up north to Mae Hong Son, down along the Myanmar border, down to Krabi area and Phuket, then back north into Isan and back to Chiang Mai. Doable.

I go to Chulalongkorn, it is in the MBK area. 14th floor. Walk-in, prompt service, 700 baht if I remember well and result in 1-2 days through email. -

Eludes me why you would not wear them in town. No trouble there? Are seat belts such a nuisance? -

Quack medicine in this case. The real indications for this kind of treatment are very limited but unfortunately quackers can easily misuse it. -
Crackdown on Illegal E-cigarettes and Laughing Gas Leads to 693 Arrests
Dirk Z replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Laughing gas is not listed as a drug as such although it has psychotropic properties. It is used by restaurants as a pressure gas for applying cream, as in bakery. So it is commercially available. In the Netherlands this was the reason to ban the large containers. As a result the streets there are littered with the small metal capsules which you can also buy here on Lazada (219 baht for 10). Khaosan road appears to be a major hub for this gas. -
Crackdown on Illegal E-cigarettes and Laughing Gas Leads to 693 Arrests
Dirk Z replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am involved with a 25 year old young man who had been inhaling laughing gas in a bar on Khaosan road. He has now been in coma on ICU for almost a week. Unclear if there will be residual brain damage after he wakes up. Nothing to laugh about.
