  1. Nothing much we can do but rely on the border patrol to keep those out that don't belong.
  2. Do you actually think the government is reliable in giving out information that isn't biased?
  3. I have no reason to go to Chonburi, but when you get older, peeing is a routine, and thankfully, the PTT's are all around to go, plus they have Amazon's and 7-11's for food stops. I was joking about you not stopping besides for beer, and referring to longer trips.
  4. Where do you go to the toilet?
  5. One of many, one camera every 4 miles and a third not working isn't near enough to see what goes on along the border, as the coyotes know as much about the border as we do.............https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/mexico-border-surveillance-immigration-trump-b2629629.html
  6. How many cameras do you think are there in almost 2000 miles of border? And there aren't any cameras underground. 500 cameras with a third not working.
  7. There has never been or never will be numbers that are accurate, as they come in daily and most get by unseen, until some are caught at jobs or relatives houses, or committing crimes, as some have done. Trump, Biden, Obama, et al, have done little to stop them coming in. Biden wanted some to be with their relatives or from asylum, which is understandable, but the main illegal entries are those that pay coyotes to get them into the US for work. Work paid for by Americans, either in factories, farms or homes. No one knows how many come in and they never will, as there are thousands of miles of border with few agents watching. Few come in at the border crossings that are looking for work. Most are caught on ranches in south Texas <Arizona or New Mexico by border patrol, regular police and ranchers and are turned over to the proper authorities for deportation. Many never get caught. Americans are hiring these workers, and that's the main problem. Getting a work permit takes time that many aren't willing to wait.
  8. You'd be surprised just how many are coming over that border right now, most unseen.
  9. This is exactly it. Thailand outside of the beach areas is a very boring place to live, unless you do gardening all the time or play golf. Very little to do in the country areas besides drink, and this is why so many locals have problems with alcohol and die young from cheap liquor. Very much like how crack took off in the US Midwest, another boring place where farming is the mainstay with no beaches or other activities besides seasonal hunting and fishing.
  10. This shows why I'm neutral, although a comedy, it's pretty real............... .
  11. Some don't realize they'll also get older, and with it comes what may.
  12. Some are plain lucky. My brother was fit most of his life then became more sedentary, and gained weight, got diabetes, ended up needing heart meds, which he never did, then died at 67 from a heart attack, brought on by the diabetes.
  13. It's an estimate, and with data over the years, pretty accurate. I've tested myself, as my son, brother and aunt and uncle had or have it. My blood sugar is 88. Most people will not get or have it, and many can keep it at bay by eating healthy all their lives and keeping fit............https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/communication-resources/prediabetes-statistics.html
  14. Not even 40% of the US is pre-diabetic.
  15. The health departments and animal welfare is always on the ball, making sure animal cruelty is as non existent as possible. Cows here are food, as they are in America, so measures are taken to see they are well taken care of, but most of the cows you see here are skinny, meaning they aren't eating enough quality food. ................https://aldf.org/article/laws-that-protect-animals/.The US has the 4H, which teaches children how to take care of livestock, and many are awarded for prize animals,........... which are then used as breeding stock..................https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_welfare_in_the_United_States
  16. But again, you wouldn't know this because you don't know me.
  17. Some people here obviously do, but you can see the neglect that happens all over by how these animals are treated. I've never seen this happen to any degree in the US. Nowhere near deluded but definitely more aware than you seem to be.
  18. Why not just stay in Japan and visit Thailand, and other countries, for a month at a time? Japan looks like it has most of what anyone could want. Cold and warm weather, great food of all kinds, beaches, mountains, fishing, parks, and big cities. Has she been to Japan? Does she like it, might want to live there? It might be a lot better for you to stay there and have her move there, seeing you already have a residence there and the insurance.
  19. You're talking to the wrong person MalcolmB. If you knew how much I'm into music you'd be shocked.
  20. Stars aren't distorted, as stats are facts. Opinions can be wrong, distorted, biased, prejudice, as they are made by humans, who can lie. That things are hidden and distorted means humans are behind this , for one reason or another. You have to be careful what you read as much of it is biased opinions.
  21. Almost everyone has a routine that works for them. The only ones that don't are the homeless, who rely on getting by anyway they can. When you retire, the routine that you had, besides waking up and going to work, stays with you. After working all of your life for someone else, now you can do whatever you want, at your speed, and I'm sure many are like me, waking up early, eating breakfast, then either going to the gym, working around the house, watching more TV, reading books, taking care of your young children if you have them, at least part of the time, spending time with your partner, going out to eat, then going to bed after watching some more TV together. All parts of a routine just adjusted because there isn't a 9 to 5 anymore. I'm sure the people you see at bars at 9AM, talking to Bob, Reg, Charlie or georgegeorgia, are still in a routine. Then they'll go to the restroom to pee, and you'll follow them, which is part of your routine, to ask them what it's like being old and going to bars. Then you'll go outside, and wonder, why do all expats use walkers, when actually most don't, but that's still part of your routine. You went to Thailand and was accosted by monkeys, and you went to the police to file a complaint, but since you couldn't pick out the monkey in a lineup, they couldn't press charges. Instead of doing a "study tour" when you visit other counties, try having a good time, stop being nosey, realize you yourself is getting older by the day, stop looking at all older expats as cripples, which they aren't, and spend more time doing things positive for others, and also yourself, and when you go back home, you'll have better memories while you're mopping those floors in paradise.
  22. Or have a lot of money, as most couples who are lopsided. Most hot women look for money first, or at least second if there's some attraction at first. Seeing so many average to overweight men with hot women shows this. If you took money away and had everyone with the same amount, then we wuld see more balanced couples together, first because of mutual attraction, and then lasting because of compatibility.
