  1. Wonderful. Instead of one, Thailand wants four separate Casino complexes at the same time. Gee, I wonder where the financing will come from? I don't think Thailand will be recognizable in 10 years.
  2. Actually you are completely wrong. To be hog-tied, the hands and feet are bound together so that the prisoner is completely immobile and helpless. It can be in front of the body, or behind which is especially brutal. It is usually a prepatory step before slitting the victim's throat.
  3. Hellhole. If I was locked in that, I'd start looking at the towel in a different way.
  4. German criminal laws are more forgiving, focusing on rehabilitation instead of severe penalties. What may be lengthy-to-lifetime convictions in some countries may only be 3-months to 10 years in Germany. https://apnews.com/article/germany-child-sexual-abuse-19e743b19057aa7345bf3cba4a8f6fff Article with stats & figures for German pedophiles https://vtforeignpolicy.com/2024/12/germanys-ruling-coalition-plans-to-legally-normalize-pedophilia-and-molestation-of-underage-children/
  5. The Passport Card is intended for use by Americans travelling through most nations of North, Central, and South America , as well as many Caribbean nations. It would be completely useless in Thailand and the rest of Asia.
  6. I say 60/40 suicide/murder. His crime was obvious, even captured on film IIRC, and shaking-down drug dealers isn't the sort of crime that threatened the higher-ups, so there doesn't seem any real need to "shut him up forever". And, why wait 3-years when he could have easily been shivved in the showers by someone long before. Besides, there exists CCTV video of him alone in his cell when this happened. However, as he was accustomed to a life of luxury before his imprisonment, his depression may have built up to the point where he literally couldn't take it anymore and a knotted cord seemed a way out.
  7. Amazing! Only the Thais can manage to screw-up a cash cow money-maker like casinos. Other casinos, when dealing with different net-worth gamblers, simply have separate wings or floors for their high net worth players.
  8. Notice that this time around, there are no Thai Pols claiming that the "Uyghurs asked to be returned to China!" They finally figured-out that even professional liars couldn't pull that one off.
  9. If you understood "rich", they have Money Managers as well assistants that fetch their coffee for them. People in Starbucks don't even realize that they're paying premium prices for shyte coffee.
  10. Sure. Turkey is where I get my news. And did you read the ABC News article? "CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The red “Make America Great Again” hat is one of the most iconic symbols of President Donald Trump's campaigns both in 2016 and in 2020. And that hat, sold through Donald Trump's official campaign website, is made in America."
  11. Source .rw Yep! I get all my statistics from Rwanda
  12. Nonsense. You're just speaking rubbish out of your nether region. Official MAGA hats are made in the USA, in California actually. They can't make enough of them to satisfy demand. Of course one can get China-made copies, same as your Rolex
  13. So these geniuses thought that a Thai woman, travelling solo into Japan, would not raise suspicions with every Japanese Customs officer she encounters?
  14. Nonsense! The police are worth every baht you are willing to pay them. Unfortunately, this is true with most non-Western countries where the police routinely expect to be paid by a victim in order to pursue an investigation. This isn't as much corruption as it is that most countries don't pay their police a living wage. India and Mexico fall into this category as well. Unless they personally eyewitness a crime being committed, the police aren't motivated to respond.
  15. One's on cocaine and the other cannabis
  16. Many Chinese guides are working illegally, some even travel from China along with their tourists and return with them. As for Russians, Just look online for how many taxi tours are offered in Russian by "local guides".
  17. 600 job openings for Muay Thai coaches in Mong Kok? I doubt all of the HK territories wouldn't need that many. 81,000 baht/month may seem like a lot, but that's nothing in HK, even with free meals & housing. Something does not sound right.
  18. If the casinos are Chinese run, they'll be staffed with Chinese imported from China. Thais will be hired to clean the toilets and provide "relaxation" to the punters. If you look at China's Belt & Road Initiative as the guide for Chinese investment, they'll pay for everything, but they'll bring in their own people to work the investments. These people will even eat, live, and shop in Chinese-owned businesses which follow the flow of investment.
  19. Letsee if I've got this right, random stranger applies for eVisa and lucks-out with 2-day turnaround. Instead of appreciating his good luck, he now expects countries to "snap" when he reapplies. And after not getting same turnaround and not willing to call consulate, wants to complain to entire government, even accusing consulate people of corruption. Is this about right?
  20. Too bad the thousands of Call Center Chinese are being deported. IMO, they formed the best-behaved group of all tourists! You never see them, you never hear them because they're chained to the phones all day. They never go outside to make noise , spit on the sidewalk, clog the roadways, beaches, restaurants or shopping locales; and since they're packed into factory buildings or hidden in the jungles they don't compete or drive up rental prices! They are the best!
  21. Epic. He needs to write a book about how he managed to stay under the radar for so long. It will become the "bible" for every person wanting to disappear into Thailand, from backpacking bum to criminal. In my mind, he lived like one of those Japanese soldiers who refused to surrender after WW2 ended and hid out in the jungles for all this time.
  22. Are you a long-term stay at this hotel? If so, just buy yourself a mini fridge to keep things cold. The cheapest one on Lazada is only 600 baht.
  23. I drink almond milk nowadays. I actually prefer it over cows milk as it doesn't leave that coating on the tongue that cows milk has but has a clean finish. Goes great over granola in the AM, and I drink my coffee black. Seems to last forever unopened and then in the fridge for months.
  24. Cool story bro'! 👍 Too bad Penthouse doesn't print letters anymore because you could've sent this one in after changing the driver from a dude to a hot chick. She would've taken you home and 'administered' to your injuries all afternoon while her staff of professional mechanics rebuilt, upgraded, and even repaints your Harley. Then your friend Pete the Porker shows up screaming " What are you doing with my (18-yr old) daughter?!!!"
  25. Hey, even Sean Connery had 2 tattoos! One said "Scotland Forever" and the second didn't.
