  1. As much as the accused happens to be a Chef!
  2. Who knows how Thai law works. I do know that in US federal laws, if you pull a runner after posting bail, there is no Statute of Limitations. You could be found 20-years later and still be tried for that crime.
  3. OK makes sense if it was explosives packed-into an extinguisher. But did throwing a 50-lb extinguisher into a fountain/pond keep it from exploding?
  4. What a cheapskate bastage to stick Thailand with the bill! Couldn't he afford to go to a Swiss clinic to get his breast-reduction and anal-bleaching procedures?
  5. All I can add is that the medical first responders and medical care in Thailand is decades ahead of other non-Western countries. If this happened in other developing nations, the "rescuers" would have thrown the injured into the back of a pickup truck and given them a bumpy ride to the hospital. If they didn't have permanent cervical/neck injuries before, they would have by the end of the ride. So you have that to look forward to when drinking & driving in Thailand!
  6. It has nothing to do with weight distribution. It's another opportunity to charge more per seat.
  7. Yep. The Israelis overseas are doing everything they can to get back to Isreal, unlike the males of other countries who run and hide. Even Israelis with other citizenships like US, France, Germany, etc. have headed to Israel to rejoin the IDF. I know an Americal-Israeli in California, he finished his service 20-years ago, but he's already back in Israel. They understand the situation. As Golda Mier said: "We have a secret weapon. We have nowhere else to go!"
  8. Some of them probably worked at the farms along with the Thais, at least until Hamas took over Gaza in 2007, and Israel closed the borders. The Israelis actually have a good reputation for paying their foreign workers and Palestinians decent wages. Of course this never gets mentioned by all the BDS groups in universities working to ban all Israeli products & investments. Little do they know that Palestinians bring home $2 billion/year in income officially and up to double that if including undeclared wages.
  9. I'm sure the hostages led away at gunpoint will be happy to know Thailand assures that they are not special to Hamas. Too bad the dead won't get this message.
  10. What does this gf do exactly? If she's a professional, works for a large company, it'd be easier. If you met her at bar, forget it. The visa office would view a Brit wanting to bring a young Thai bargirl into the US as a likely case of human trafficking. It'd be easier for you 2 to visit Guam.
  11. Splendid idea! The Army should promote and appoint at least 20 new generals to investigate this!
  12. The biggest foreign buying group, China, will be out of the market for the foreseeable future. The RE market and banks who funded the bubble in China are sinking into oblivion, Chinese speculators are no longer able to leverage their over inflated RE in China and take cash out for Thai purchases. Don't be expecting any other groups to step-in an buy up all the building inventory in Thailand.
  13. So is there an official tally of how many Thais in Israel? I have read numbers from 20,000-30,000 with only 400 a day being evacuated back by Thailand. But do all these Thai agricultural workers want to leave Israel? I think that there won't be any physical intrusions into Israel for a long time, and mushroom farms won't exactly be on top of Hamas' rocket list.
  14. Those confiscated firearms look like garbage. Wait until Thai criminals figure out how to use 3D printers.
  15. Of course he's a businessman! He is probably employed in the perfectly respectable business of moving large amounts of methamphetamines and human growth hormones. Buying guns online is expensive! They cost 2-3-5x the cost of legal guns so this Swede is obviously a very successful businessman!
  16. I think Chinese visitors as a major group has ended for possibly decades. Most Chinese have gone back to squirreling away their money in preparation for some really, really hard times. If they vacation, it will be mostly domestic travel. The real estate market, which accounts for 20% of China's GDP, is crashing with no way to fix it. China has built so much new housing that even if their population (1.4 billion people) doubled, it still wouldn't be enough to fill all the excess capacity. Nobody knows what this will do to China, or the global economy, but if cash-strapped Chinese real estate investors start dumping their foreign holdings, RE and banking institutions worldwide would nosedive along with China.
  17. Sorry, I don't know of any brands in LoS. I suggest that you visit some vendors near where you live and see what they have. THC-infused gummies usually contain 5-mg doses each, see what is available. Be Careful! It is really easy to treat these like regular candy, so don't eat the whole bag while waiting for it to take effect!
  18. Find a cannabis store that sells THC in liquid sublingual doses. You can take the THC in measured drops under the tongue about 1-hour before bedtime, and you'll find yourself sleeping better as the THC works into your system. Once you figure-out what dosage you need, 5, 10, 15mg etc., you'll be able to control how much and what time before going to sleep. Or, you can do the same by eating THC infused gummies, etc. These are much better methods than smoking the stuff, which I've never really enjoyed.
  19. Sounds to me like the same pitch that was used to create Malaysia's 1MDB sovereign investment fund. Look how that turned-out.
  20. For every American abroad, the US Embassy can provide a Repatriation Loan. This is money lent to purchase a one-way flight back to the US as well as enough for food and sometimes lodging until departure. This is a loan, and the US will chase you down for it, and will place a restriction on your passport until it gets repaid. Why don't these homeless & destitute citizens take advantage of this? Seems like the govt of Philippines or Thailand would want to get these non-productive vagrants back to their own countries.
  21. First answer this, Are you building an ark? Have every species of animal been showing-up at your home in pairs? If you answered "yes" to both, please tell me so that I can book a spot on that ark of yours!
  22. As with everything in Thailand, the real action is happening under the table!
  23. There's some sort of leadership battle going on between different groups and it appears that one side has won. 1,400 police officers, Lieutenants to Colonels, that is a lot of field commanders.
  24. I also agree. You move into a village and suddenly expect them to change how they've lived for hundreds of years just to make you happy? If you catch it, take it for a long drive and drop it off on the the side of the road somewhere. Don't kill it, and definitely don't eat it. Somehow, those neighbors will find out, whether from your lack of eye contact, the pile of feathers in your trash, the smell of chicken soup in the air...
  25. Woo yeah, ridicule everything! This is definitely some political battle between 2 factions, but for the police who have to make a raid against a senior police official with access to all manner of exotic weaponry, they will wear at least basic "entry team" kit. I see cops wearing body armor including ballistic helmet and goggles. They are also armed with long guns because pistol calibers don't work against body armor and are also less accurate. I don't see "commando gear", and you obviously don't even know what it means. What I do see are police officers that would like to survive an armed encounter with possibly dirty cops with access to the same type of weaponry.
