  1. Next time read the whole story. He was shouting in Chinese during the incident.
  2. Burma is on fire. The Junta is in trouble and hunkered-down in their cities while all manner of ethnic minorities AND Burmese people have taken-up arms. They have lost control of the countryside and waterways. Over a very short time, the various rebellious groups have organized, trained, and rearmed themselves with captured weapons and from money funneled to their causes. The rebels started with old shotguns and 3D printed guns but now have modern weapons AND drones used in the same manner as by Ukraine. There is just no real world-wide interest because people just don't understand anything about Burma, it's past, and current politics. Burma is just some far-away land, just like the wars in Africa. Until there is a threat of spillover that would harm Western countries like Ukraine and Israel, most people just don't care.
  3. Never heard of these, and my orthos, pain doc, and neurosurgeon never mentioned them! I was intrigued-enough to purchase one and have it delivered to me a few hours later here in N. CA. Immediately tried it and can say it's not the same as inversion therapy. While the inflatable cervical traction device does help to realign the neck to reduce pain, it does not: 1) reverse the effects of gravity and what it does for neck pain. Even a slight inversion reduces gravity allowing the spine to straighten naturally, while the inflatable still lets gravity pull your head/neck downwards. 2) but what made this really uncomfortable was that you are effectively wrapping what feels like several towels around neck and face, creating a lot of heat & humidity discomfort. I wouldn't use this in a high humidity climate. I can see that it may help some, but not everyone will enjoy benefits.
  4. Get some recipes, available online and start baking! A lot of the THC can be simmered into butter for cookies, brownies, etc to be frozen or given to friends. Or freeze the butter. You can even hold a party to help distribute your bounty. I used to have a recipe for how to brew THC into beer even.
  5. Rubbish. The "Great Wall" is composed of a series of walls built over a span of almost 2,400 years. They were built by different Dynasties and not all linked together. There are no records of how many died during their construction, and as they were mostly built using convicted criminals, prisoners of war .and slaves, nobody knows how many died.
  6. Oh, and inversion tables can help a lot with relieving neck and back pain. -Just as long as you are in good enough shape to pull yourself back to rightside-up! If you can't, then you may die, but if you are in at least decent shape, an inversion table will relieve all the stress caused by gravity and even help pull your spine back into alignment, if temporarily. It can even be set so you lay at a slight decline instead of fully inverted, to relieve pain. It has helped me get through some bad times with my neck issues, and the guy who invented it was 2" taller at time of death than before he invented it! Look on Lazada
  7. Get an MRI. Not only could you have spinal degeneration, but there could also be stenosis (spinal cord narrowing and pinching or cutting into your nerves). With stenosis, massages can even cause more harm. If you catch it early enough, it can be treated a lot easier than if you let it get to the point where you'll need specialized surgery using bone grafts and a long recovery period (1-2 years). Even if it isn't stenosis but simple aging, you can get easy treatments like regular botox injections to relax the muscles, reduce pain & headaches, AND it will remove will the deep wrinkles on your face as a bonus! Believe me, I know this from experience.
  8. You make the assumption that they were all paid millions or billions. Probably only a few were paid and that money has already been spent. The rest collaborated because that's what they do to protect the extremely wealthy because they wanted to curry favor from the Red Bull family and future promotions. In all likelihood, nobody thought that this would still be in the news after a few years time. Even though, I think that most will be let-off with one individual to be si gled-out and made the scapegoat.
  9. Looky, looky. Hey guys! Remember that recent discussion about Chinese posting on AE, and I wrote that they always pose as white folks, and used names like "Joe in Australia" to try and blend in?
  10. Most phishing emails get caught and filtered, you're just seeing the ones that squeak through. Your OS doesn't matter because they're phishing email addresses. Just look at the sender's email address, it won't be an official corporate address. Besides, your first clue should be that since you didn't enter the contest, how could you have won?
  11. That's the thing. The Japanese are very big with referrals because they fear exactly this when dealing with foreigners. Likely because his accountant who referred this scammer, he did not question all the requests for payments. I wonder how the accountant knew this guy.
  12. Do not sell them in Thailand if you want to maximize your return. British gold sovereigns enjoy a mark-up in the UK, the Commonwealth, and probably W. Europe as they all know what sovereigns are. People still collect them as coins and they hold nostalgia value. But in Thailand, you will only get the melt-down value of the gold since they were never used in Thailand and there is no familiarity with them. In comparison, American Gold and Silver Eagles, and Chinese Panda coins are traded in Thailand..
  13. I had thought he would re-appear after 3-months, fully recovered from gender reassignment surgery and demanding to be called Simone.
  14. I do enjoy reading "Hard SciFi", which is SciFi stories based-on rational progression of real science, and not fantasy, which I consider lazy (like Star Wars, which sucks & swallows!) An example would be " The Martian", where the author consulted with scientists & physicists to create a logical world & science of 2035. Other examples would be the world of "2001, A Space Odyssey", another would be the movie " Ad Astra", or the excellent TV series "The Expanse". All based on books. Joe Haldeman's " The Forever War" is a classic example. If anyone wants to read a couple of fast & violent "cyberpunk" SciFi novels which has some foundations on unconstrained science and social commentary, go find: "Veteran" and "War in Heaven" by Gavin Smith.
  15. Why? Argument. Sucker punch. He fell and struck his head on the concrete, resulting in a probably fractured skull.
  16. Prayut, or any leader anywhere, will always have their supporters. It doesn't mean that the entire country is still supporting him. In Russia, there are still people who miss the Soviet Union. It doesn't mean that everyone does -but it does explain why people support Putin. Their economy, wages, and future is in the toilet, but Putin brought back feelings of a strong & powerful Russia. (No. I do not feel this way.)
  17. Obviously. However, I do condone the community beating of parents for the misbehavior of their children.
  18. I think the amount depends on yours/his circle of friends. At 13, he's going to want to start buying some of his own clothes, shoes, video games, whatever. Depending on his circle of peers, he needs to at least be able run with them without developing any problems of not fitting in. 1000-2000, whatever you decide, make him at least WORK for it. He needs to feel he is earning it from work. Chores, helping-out somewhere, perhaps peg it to his grades.
  19. You are correct that it's more than Venezuela! China, North Korea, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bangladesh, El Salvador, Mozambique, Namibia, and Rep of Congo, are also officially "socialist" countries. To be fair, Portugal is also a "socialist" country. But none of the Scandinavian countries are considered socialist anymore.
  20. Huh? Socialists will take alright, but more than just compliments.
  21. Whenever I see or hear " debunked", I know the person has identified themselves of having no individual thought, and certainly nothing informed to add, except for an almost rabid attitude towards using talking points. This includes both left and right of politics. I don't mind spirited discussions and I appreciate alternate views because it sharpens my own beliefs, but those who only deny & deny, usually throwing-in an ad hominem somewhere in there, are a waste of time and not worth engaging.
  22. There were a couple of Chinese "wu mao"posters here a few years back, pretending to be white. Don't know if they're around anymore. Maybe China's AI is good enough to not need real humans post anymore. What I've noticed about the fake China posters is that they'd always try to establish that they were white by choosing names like " Jay from New Zealand" (a real one) or "Joe from Australia" and similar. No matter what the discussion, they'd insert something like "The US started Covid" in a conversation about banks, for example. It got pretty easy to spot them because of their choice of names (always an Anglo name and claims to be from Australia, usually), and an attempt to blame the US even though the topic had nothing to do with the US. This has happened on several forums I been on, even in CNN, which is why they finally took it down. One amusing observation is that from the time stamp, they'd all start posting at the equivalent of 9AM Beijing time -beginning of their work day.
  23. Thaksin's voluntary return to Thailand has always been a mystery to me. What back room deal did he get to convince him to return? And now that he's back and has been convicted, then paroled, what fears does he have that we are unaware of? For someone who has likely socked billions away, he could probably arrange a secret flight out of the LoS on a runway made out of 1,000 baht notes.
  24. Rubbish. Denial is not a valid argument. You do not want to understand nor accept that Biden's attack on the Supreme Court is merely an election year ploy to stir up the emotions of morons, as any rational person would realize that a constitutional amendment could never be passed in 3-months time. After the election is over, this will be forgotten as new crises will be manufactured. By the way, do you really know what the Supreme Court does? They don't pass laws. Their sole purpose is judicial review to invalidate statutes and Presidential decrees which violate the Constitution. Checks and Balances. Have you ever read a Judicial opinion, both the majority and dissenting opinions? They are written by far smarter people than you or I and they reference case law going back centuries to support the decisions. Before you go screaming for change and charging corruption, perhaps you should understand what goes into each decision.
