  1. There's some sort of leadership battle going on between different groups and it appears that one side has won. 1,400 police officers, Lieutenants to Colonels, that is a lot of field commanders.
  2. I also agree. You move into a village and suddenly expect them to change how they've lived for hundreds of years just to make you happy? If you catch it, take it for a long drive and drop it off on the the side of the road somewhere. Don't kill it, and definitely don't eat it. Somehow, those neighbors will find out, whether from your lack of eye contact, the pile of feathers in your trash, the smell of chicken soup in the air...
  3. Woo yeah, ridicule everything! This is definitely some political battle between 2 factions, but for the police who have to make a raid against a senior police official with access to all manner of exotic weaponry, they will wear at least basic "entry team" kit. I see cops wearing body armor including ballistic helmet and goggles. They are also armed with long guns because pistol calibers don't work against body armor and are also less accurate. I don't see "commando gear", and you obviously don't even know what it means. What I do see are police officers that would like to survive an armed encounter with possibly dirty cops with access to the same type of weaponry.
  4. So your partner always wore the condom?
  5. Notice how strangely they run? That's because they've got their "frank & beans" tucked all the way to the back of those bikinis!
  6. Thailand pays in dollars and Euros. .6 is a huge hit when you think of the country, not a couple of farangs' personal interest. 2022 GDP of Thailand was US$495 billion. .6% of that is almost US$3 billion of lost trading value.
  7. Whether hours or months, I think his jail cell will not look like other jail cells.
  8. What liter capacity and temperature ranges do you need? First item that comes to mind are the soda & beer fridges that every small restaurant typically has sitting against a wall. Just a big rectangle if you take the racks out. If you don't care how it looks, you can place closed-cell foam sheets over the glass to better insulate it.
  9. Actually, Japan has a very high crime rate. It just happens to all be mostly white collar type crimes instead of assaults, robbery, murder, etc. Prostitution, gambling, bribery, corruption, sexual assaults, human trafficking, all are common, it's just that Japanese criminals cooperate with their local police to keep visible crimes like assaults and robberies down to almost zero. It's a facade, like supermarkets in North Korea. You just haven't peeked behind the doorway.
  10. Hope they had their wallets, watches and wedding bands taken. That'll be fun to explain back in S. Korea.
  11. So where exactly in the above article does it identify any foreigners who are "lauding" fee-free visas for Chinese citizens? And what is an "international stakeholder"? -China? It'll be another failure anyway. Chinese citizens will be hoarding their cash as their economy nosedives with no chance of it stabilizing. Just as their exports have dropped between 9-20% for the past 4-months straight, their RE bubble has burst -which is 29% of China's GDP. Eventually, China won't be able to force their banks to continue eating all the bad debt, and very fun things to will happen to their entire country. -Same things happened to Japan in the 1980's, and they still haven't recovered after 40-years.
  12. True. With three of them, they'll be able to protect themselves from the violence that Thai women inflict on foreigners inside prisons just for fun. They may even find useful employment acting as enforcers for one of the women gangs inside.
  13. Is Thaksin dying soon? Does he have some ailment which will end this man's life relatively quickly so he can't be a future political threat? I can't understand any other reason why he was allowed back to the LoS. This explains his immediate hospital stay and exam, so that the generals can verify this before completing whatever secret agreement they had to let him return. I guess Thaksin wants to die and be buried in Thailand.
  14. That Brit still has his heavy chain around his neck after the fight. The article stated that the Brit continued to be loud and disruptive, even wanting to fight the first responders, and it took the police to finally pacify him. Just based on that, I'd say the original Thais must have been provoked and weren't looking for trouble.
  15. That is not Preppy, THAT is Hipster. I went to prep school, wore Brooks Brothers and Sperry . I think I can identify what is considered "preppy". Anyone showing-up with his t-shirt sleeves pulled out from his buttondowns was obviously someone sent to fix the plumbing.
  16. I'm having problems finding carbon fiber amongst the PVC attachment, chickenwire, mesh, fiberglass, and sheet metal. My guess is that some farmer's rotgut still exploded because he was too cheap to use copper parts for it.
  17. Yes! I also do not speak dumb@ss and cannot understand the article. Even the headline confusingly combines Art & Toon, and even throws-in a mysterious jailbreak. Perhaps this is a leaked script for a new Thai soap opera?
  18. Wish I knew about the gents clubs earlier! I've been going to Pattaya just for the beaches
  19. Appears some of you didn't read the article where it says Landlord suspects the home was used as a marijuana grow house. Most likely the cabinetry were ripped-out to increase grow space and dark surfaces painted white to better reflect the glow lights. Unfortunate. With the roof destroyed by water, that home looks like it'll need a tear-down and rebuild. The tenant probably made enough money from growing weed to escape to his next destination.
  20. It's disrespectful in any country for the locals and especially tourists to walk around bare-chested. Especially in the cities. Extremely low class.
  21. I suppose things like this will happen when Russia has to pull mainboards and CPUs needed for their moonshot from smuggled consumer products like coffeepots, razors and digital cameras.
