  1. I suppose that's a good point when all the warnings have been ignored. Thais have amulets for divine protection but falang wishes on luck.

    Grab tips

Don't eat yellow snow, if that helps. I'm so stoned that I misunderstood. Anyway, just took Grab to weed shop and back and price was ฿73 each way and tipped ฿40 each way so ฿226 in total (circa £5.50) I think that's fair and in the UK I wouldn't get far on the equivalent of ฿73 baht, probably to end of road.

    Grab tips

For taxi is easy and no problem. Not tried food. I added my UK credit card to Grab and no problems. Very good service and easy as pie.
  4. I don't like bullfighting. So that's a minus living there.
  5. My wife was pleased as punch that a bubble tea cost her ฿24 here in LoS (wasn't really a thing last time we visited pre-Covid lockdown). £5 odd in the UK.
  6. Is democracy the perfect fit for Thai society? And is democracy what they're going to get?
  7. My wife and I visited Lao in 2011 and the residents didn't appear to be the happiest nation on earth and I can't blame them. I'm glad we visited to see the other side of the river, but won't be going back.
  8. Okay then, but not entirely certain. I'll meet you halfway. ????
  9. The way I look at it, you can kid the lessor (fine if nothing goes wrong) but you can't kid an insurance company (big problem if something goes wrong).
  10. Okay, so they're eating more but not sure we can ignore the convenience food aspect, i.e. Grab and 7-Eleven etc, whereas previously they'd have jumped on the motorbike and at least walked twenty metres to fetch the food from the vendor, now it's delivered to the door. ????
  11. Let's put this huge 'bust' into perspective. I've done the calculations and calling BS on ฿1M worth but here you go, anyway.
  12. ... and complete lack of exercise.
  13. ... but with the following caveat from your link: Europe and UK For the first order, personal cards can be delivered and activated in Europe only. Replacement cards can be delivered internationally.
  14. If Portugal is good enough for Ronaldo, then it's good enough for you, Gamma. Bon voyage and all that.
  15. Are you suggesting the OP's coffee shop owners have retired to a multi-million baht Jomtiem condo?
  16. Indeed. Ongoing issues include drug dealing, drug addiction, habitual sex offender and murderer, to name but a few.

    Thai beef

Makro sell a range of Thai beef and imported. Invariably have some nice aussie ribeye at reasonable prices. We purchased some Thai wagyu last week from the local Makro at ฿450 (probably about 0.5kg) and have to say it was top quality.
  18. Did that years ago in BBK but PITA really. Ended up getting BBK bank account and all sorted now.
  19. Do what you like but was clear enough. Take care and goodbye.
  20. Lovely but not really presidential, is it? Kind of ordinary. I'm trying not to laugh, but I can't help it.
  21. But all the crazy countries kept schtum during Trump's reign. And now, all of a sudden, they want a piece of the West.
  22. Very funny. ???? Please share where we can all enjoy the Presidential Suite for less than 1000 baht.
  23. No such card in the UK but I get by with having a BBK account so transfer funds over occasionally from UK and withdraw at LoS ATM.
