No 85% are kept in the home office----no cleaning lady, no visitor to the office, no tradesman when something goes wrong......& what do you think of the Thai people that installed it..? yes, its all a 100% a secret I'm sure.

Now your talking about hidden---& that's silly because there is no comparison to a cube standing in the corner of (what ever room no one is allowed to go in) to something level with the floor the size of a dinner plate.

    Did you read post #36

When things were quite & I had to move into sales for periods--Chubb instructed us to undersell the floor safes, it drove them mad, there was little profit compared to a great big shinny Kick $SS free standing safe.

I take it you have brought a free standing safe---I am sure your be happy and secure with it----Thailand doesn't have a culture like London /America etc.

Once again everything I am quoting is 40 years old--So where do I keep my gold / cash things that for me are irreplaceable. I pay 20 baht a week..(1,000baht a year) to keep them in a Vault surrounded by 8 inch steel & state of the art alarm systems --& with a security guard.

Yer I took out a safety deposit box at the bank.

Safety deposit boxes are inconvenient IMO, for example if you have documents in there you need a quick photo copy of ( weekends / holidays / working hours etc ).

Also the dimensions you mention are small, i'm sure bigger ones may be available albeit at a cost and less available.

what i wanna know is how they gonna know if your insurance covers covid 19 and covers the required amount? are they gonna check each insurance company and what it covers exactly? will be time consuming surely or are they just gonna want you to prove you have insurance and show the documents they you have got insurance.

You get a separate document from the insurance company that states you're covered for CV-19.

In another thread @G Rex mentioned he got a Covid-19 insurance from Regency Insurance (which I believe is a thai company) and that he got all the documents to satisfy the thai authorities for his return.

I have health insurance with Regency and can confirm the cover Covid.

Long overdue as far as I am concerned the people you refer to above only cause problems for the majority who stay here long term and comply with the law.

A prime example being the embassy letters relating to annual income for retirement extensions/ marriage visas.

Individuals make false declarations, and I know of three who openly bragged, about doing this, then a convenient process is stopped.

From the experience of myself and several expat friends we don’t have any concerns.

I agree, if you have all your ducks in a row and just go about your life minding your own business, no one will bother you here.

    That's been my experience anyway.

The 100,000 usd was specifically for the covid19.

Interesting reading a little while back, where the thai government had said that private hospitals were not allowed to charge for covid19 treatment.

The account should be referred to the government for payment.

So in other words, if you can't get public hospital treatment, the private hospitals are not allowed to gouge you, or your insurance policy.

(I should have kept the information)

Yes, when i was working in Vietnam, about 2009 ish, one of the guys i worked with got SARS, the company provided private medical coverage at the time but as it was classed as a government controlled disease he had to stay in a public hospital.

Yes I have same insurance as you from Roojai. Agree $100,000 is a crazy requirement even if people can get it, the price will be expensive

$100,000 is not crazy an amount if you're in a private hospital here for any amount of time, a fried of mine was in ICU for one night, they did loads of tests on him coz they had no idea what was happening ( he had two fits ), cost was 150K THB.

    Very interesting, thanks for sharing.

Did you have to take a full 12 months health policy with Regency, or is it available for say 21 days, 30 days etc?

    Did you need to:

    - Visit the Thai embassy in Sydney or wherever to get any of the required entry docs?

    - Get a very recent Covid 19 test report?

    - If you have recently got an air booking, would you please share what airline.

    Thanks, appreciated.

The Covid cover with Regency is annual in my policy, they also supply a separate document that says you're covered for $100,000 ( which may come in handy ).

At my age, I find a scooter to be far more comfortable. I had super bikes for many years. My favorite was a Triumph Daytona Super III. Amazing bike. But now my top choice would be the BMW C400. But at 399,000 baht, it is bit pricey, in these days of Covid. The second choice would be a 2020 Suzuki Burgman 400. At 200,000 baht it is alot of bike for the money. They are nice bikes. Well built, super plush ride, amazing suspension, and alot of fun to drive. My last choice would be the 2020 Honda Forza 300. It appears to be highly improved from the older model, which I thought drove like a river barge. Anyone who has driven both, do you have anything to say about an improvement in steering, and suspension? At 165,000 it is reasonable. I looked at the Yamaha X Max, and though it is a very nice scooter, the ride is far too stiff. I would need to upgrade the suspension, and with Olin shocks, we are looking at around 40,000 baht. And I still do not like the fit. Seems to be made for a smaller guy.

Can't find a weight for the bike (yet), seems Harley hasn't released that info yet. I recall reading awhile ago that this wasn't in production yet. I think they are doing testing and getting feedback before making alterations and adjustments. Maybe will affect the weight as well.

Saw one comparison to a Triumph Tiger 1200, which clocks in at 547 pounds (US) or about 250 kgs. Probably the "dry" weight. My Heritage Softail is about 325 kgs dry and sits a lot lower (but so does the exhaust and it doesn't have the clearance the Pan American has). Still, 75(ish) kilos less weight would make a fair difference when it comes to handling the bike, especially on non-paved roads.

I've take the Softail on some crappy trails and was thankful they were dry. Would have hated to had to manhandle it along muddy cow trails

Most BMs ( GS 1200 / GSA 1200 ) and Ducati Multi's are in the region of 200-225kg or thereabouts, that's with nothing in the panniers that may add 5-10kg per pannier.

You wife will need to be with you when you apply. You will need your marriage ceritificat and a copy of it, copies of your wife house book registry and ID card. Some offices may want a updated printout of your Kor Ror 2 marriage registry done at a Amphoe.

You will need proof of residence for where you are living to prove you are living within the designated area of the immigration office where you apply.

    The fee is 1900 baht.

You can only apply for one 60 day extension per entry to the country.

    Ok thank you.

So i can come in for 90 days + extend by 60 and then repeat this cycle?

  12. 1 hour ago, ubonjoe said:

There is no need to get the 60 day extension now since you can stay until July 31st under the amnesty.

You save the 60 day extension until shortly before July 31st and apply for it then instead of leaving the country for a new entry.

Getting the extension does not affect your non-o visas validity.

Thanks, what documents are required for 60 day extension and what is the cost?

Is there a limit to 60 day extensions as this may be a cheaper alternative to doing 90 border hops.
