  1. Advise same tests on point of use showers as have had an RCBO unit fail (was years ago and maker has changed system) due to corrosion of the trip reset bar (could not trip - breaker was supposed to trip from bar being released).
  2. As I said they indeed are the only Tops bulk potatoes than come up on web site - from Tops Food Hall Central Eastville source which supplies my area of the city. You may be looking at a different source but there is no choice - you order from the supply center for your area and selection is limited to what they have.
  3. Today until sale ends on the 26th.
  4. Actually those are the only available from Tops online at my location in Bangkok currently.
  5. That was then - these days most homes do have proper main and sub breakers for everything - but electricians are learn on the job and, as with most of us, don't like to change once we learn one way of doing things.
  6. But they deliver from a set supermarket for your area and your orders are based on stock at that location. I use them.
  7. New AC are much less power hungry and smaller units seem to just have plug to insert into normal outlet. In the past there were no breaker panels - just a plywood panel with main fuse and a couple fuse knife switches. AC was wired direct to a breaker/switch next to unit. Heaters to breaker/switch outside bathrooms (you turned breakers off when not in use). As for 32 amp feed being enough - probably - but depends on what else you may be using at same time (refrigerator/stove/toaster/pot/lights/fans/etc) - as a general rule would be best to upgrade to the larger meter normal 60 plus amp service that most homes use if they have more than fans/lighting.
  8. It seems to be an issue for most of the responders however. If his local Tops supermarket does not have mail order not likely to help as that ships from closest supermarket type store.
  9. But they want for 40 baht a kg range - will be double that from Tops.
  10. I have not used password sign on for Lazada for last six months or so - always had intermittent issues doing so. Now just log on using "G* Google" option and no issues since (but do seem to have to google translate most pages even when set for English). I just checked with VPN in USA and no issue log on to Lazada using above method.
  11. Understated - it will be burning hot - made that mistake on an open car port - never again - Insulated metal sheets now which greatly reduce tempeture and rain noise - electric LED lighting is cheap and windows without tint will give better light. You want insulated metal sheets or tile with a false ceiling well insulated.
  12. No effect on RCBO and add protection as any serious leak to ground in appliance will trip a normal circuit breaker. Only remove such grounds if you actually wire appliance to electric box ground.
  13. Yes - many have grounded neutral at electric poles - about every 3rd pole will have a ground wire running down it. If your main breaker panel has a link between ground strap and neutral buss that is what you should have. But not everywhere has that system so you need to check.
  14. Actually most in Thailand are main breaker panel type rather than the individual circuits/outlets often used elsewhere. Often fitted after main breaker to home for protection on all circuits.
  15. They complement each other - RCBO will almost always save your life as trips at only 30ma difference between load and neutral (alternate path to ground). Ground will trip circuit breaker at 16/32 amps or whatever after a time lapse. Good for fire protection but not so great for human life. But important shock protection also as it will remove the danger before anyone touches live frame/cabinet or whatever.
  16. But RCBO does not require ground to operate and save lives.
  17. Did you ask? When I bought always had to ask and then they found - but this was before grounding was normal for new constructions.
  18. Indeed - and it is a life saver and has a long history of usage here.
  19. The thread is about ground and RCBO usage. In almost all cases only two wires are used - an additional ground wire or replacement with 3 conductor cable is required for a grounded system. Which is why the whole house Safe-t-cut become so popular here some 45 years ago.
  20. I never had issues obtaining 3 conductor home wire from HomePro in the last several decades. https://www.homepro.co.th/c/ELT0309?et_feature13=3-CORE&pmin=&pmax=&cst=0&q=VAF-GRD+Electric+Wires+&page=1&s=12&size=100#plist
  21. There were a storm with a lot if lightning and short periods of heavy rain that came through early evening but quickly became only moderate to light rain.
  22. You are aware the electric system here is not intended to be the same as used in UK (ring circuit) so this might be an issue having it reviewed by your nephew?
  23. Last night heavy rain here in Bangkok - today a warning - normal fore(back)cast.
