  1. Yes it can - will have to add wire from metal frame to ground terminal of plug - can tape to two wire current cord (not have to remove parts/rewire compressor) This assumes you actually have ground wire from outlets.
  2. Check the main electric panel and see if there is an RCBO installed (push to test button is key - press and make sure power is cut to ref) or a Safe-t-Cut before the panel. If not owner might fund upgrade. But if you can not ground that ref make sure you walk in slippers or shoes and not touch barefoot. The danger actually hot (more than a few volts) is small but it could be life or death touch in worst case. No reason to make yourself more of a ground than necessary. Now if you have wood or carpet floor that would also help a lot for leg ground. What you never want to allow is one hand on ref and other on a good ground (electric through heart).
  3. As said many Thai appliances (Hitachi is made in Thailand) come with only 2 pin plugs as most upcountry homes only have that type - current Sharp rice cookers are still 2 pin. You are expected to wire a ground to such units. Guess how many do? One very good reason many homes do have RCBO protection.
  4. If it is a foreign deposit (SWIFT and such) it will be listed as Foreign. Wise is not a foreign deposit but a local bank transfer so if you do not have account tagged or select long stay in Thailand it will only be listed as foreign if the transfer account used is within Bangkok Bank (that is one of their standing accounts).
  5. But one thing not mentioned is RCBO - make very sure any electric run into shower/bath is on an external RCBO for your protection. Electric and dirty water/bare body is not a good combination.
  6. The question, on your question, is if this is a 24v pump is it attached to a 220v conversion source? You can not expect to attach a 24v product of any kind directly to 220v AC line. That you mention a plug seems to indicate it is powered by 220v but we can not be sure without additional information, such as name/model of pump unit.
  7. You did yourself at an ATM passbook update machine? If gave to teller they might have just updated current balance for you. If done yourself indeed it should have that transaction. But as said immigration key on annual bank statement as many passbook do not get updated often enough not to have entries missing.
  8. Foreign deposits (all deposits) will be entered in passbook - the foreign will have FTT code. But for extensions they will likely require a one year bank statement anyhow (obtained from brank branch) which will also have all the information.
  9. Sorry - reread and noted you were talking about another account but too slow to get the edit out.
  10. Not very long if using account for payments. And getting new book becomes even more of an issue if joint account and both have to visit (and one or both have travel issues).
  11. You are talking about a Thailand or Philippine bank. In Thailand all entries will be in passbook as almost all accounts are passbook accounts. But a bank employee could update with just balance or if more than several months since last update machine could do/have missing entries. But in a one month old account this should not happen.
  12. Suspect that was a general surgeon rather than plastic surgeon (huge price increase when go plastic).
  13. This is a 3 year old thread - but for Lazada find using Google option to log in takes care of my issues. Direct log in with name/password can be hit and miss.
  14. 30k I suspect is for wide margin surgery by plastic surgeon and biopsy report. But my reply was to OP - not to your post. Sorry for confusion.
  15. Not sure doctors here can identify BCC/SCC by sight as few Thai ever have. If surgery removal trust you did get a biopsy report? They often remove by laser here but would normally remove top layer for biopsy first and if positive then do a wide margin surgery to remove and test again to make sure margins clear. Others might use nitrogen freeze if unknown spot and if that not remove go the testing/surgery route. But as others pointed out it is rather hard to make rhyme or reason from your description. Just be aware very few doctors will expect skin issues to be cancer and actually test.
  16. The cataracts are causing real issues? If not there is no need to remove until they do. For low price you probably should be checking government/military type hospital.
  17. Suspect you are set to receive funds in Bangkok Bank New York for transfer to your account here via US ACH direct deposit. It is indeed a requirement for such accounts not to have card or internet access - you must present yourself in person to withdraw funds due to bank being responsible for repayment to US Government of any funds paid after your death. What you need is a new account that you can deposit funds for daily use in your name with debit card. There is no such requirement that an ATM card can not be issued to joint account holders for normal savings accounts.
  18. If still has balance should be OK. But there is a charge if account balance is below 2K which could have depleted funds.
  19. (CW) in his post would be Chiang Wattana (Bangkok) and as posted it is taking some time for approvals lately.
  20. It is taking a few days - mine done on 3rd and approved late on 8th this month.
  21. I did mine last week using computer and no issues - but I did use the mag glass to enter same information as previous report. All you should have to enter is your passport number - the icon fills in everything else as it was last time. Did you stay in a hotel by any chance? Have seen reports of that TM30 causing an issue recently (it should not).
  22. US Embassy issued alert at 1535 to those getting such and AFAIK this is the first time such an alert has ever been issued so it must be considered a very serious situation.
  23. Agree Thailand is an exception for Wise as they do not yet have transfer out ability (authorization) so standing accounts here have to have external funds to pay. Most countries the bulk of payments would be made using local received funds as they operate both ways. They do have an agreement with a firm allowed transfers out (Dee) so may be using that source for some local funds (am sure they are as payments are sometimes shown as from them).
