  1. As said replacement fee is 100 baht - are you sure this was normal MC card and did not include next years fee by chance? Charges are openly listed on internet here: https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Cards/Be1st-Smart-Card/Be1st-Smart-TPN-Mastercard
  2. That must not have been the basic debit card - which only costs 100 baht for replacement.
  3. I would do the eye tests if this is not something you have done recently - they can catch something before it becomes serious. As for other tests perhaps wait for results and then doctor can recommend any that might be appropriate. Tests can be very informative but can also lead down the wrong path to more and more tests without proper supervision.
  4. The only greed is the scammers - these calls are often threats by people posing as officials who could put them in jail for all kinds of false charges.
  5. How? They were under water of unknown depth and it is almost impossible to break car windows or open doors while under water.
  6. Thanks much for the information - appears BBL not offered until you click on arrow to bring up - then it says see how to pay via ATM making it appear you have to go out and do on an ATM machine. Will give it a try next order.
  7. I do not recall ever seeing that option from Lazada - Shopee had it until October this year but has stopped. Perhaps you mean mobile banking rather than internet banking?
  8. That was a bit of joke as you say you live: Location:La Luna Posted 7 minutes ago
  9. Well my 1985 Subaru was not top spec in PI but it had electric windows when imported from Japan. But you may well be right for normal imports to Thailand. In Florida always had a spring-loaded center punch taped to steering column. Cheap and effective.
  10. Which likely had electric windows that would not operate under water. In 80's Florida drivers were warned to carry glass breaker attached to steering column for such an event. But if truth in suicide post, and just paying worker might support that, can only send best wishes to them and any family. Suicide is rare in Thailand but seems to be on the increase.
  11. Indeed upcountry the normal donation will be much less - but in most cases the total cost will also be much less. Having to extend beyond 3 days will greatly increase the cost however (but as said they try to extend for family members not close).
  12. For those of us living in Thailand rather than the moon find much better information online rather than store manager (assuming you can actually access such) - as for actual item that will depend on logistics and other factors but for most things find home delivery a very attractive option.
  13. Suspect you are talking about paying extra for a private room and needing wife to help provide nursing service? Most general patients stay in open wards at government hospitals.
  14. Actually I get refund within a week to my credit card and card offers full protection from fraud. But understand using a local card could be problematic in that regard.
  15. As said Rutnin has CVFT ability, which if Glaucoma suspected will be a test needed and some hospitals will have have, so easy to just use them for everything. They are well regarded and set up and have been here for many decades.
  16. Some of us do not feel the need to move with the times and have our personal banking information on easy to lose phones. Suspect this is a major reason Shopee has ceased Bank App payments. I have had no issues over last 4 years using CC for payment of Lazada and much prefer having that protection.
  17. Actually if you do not personally inspect work it is just about useless as most customers will not have a clue. But that has nothing to do with buying online - which is today. There will always be some stores to provide immediate service but the world is changing to home delivery (and this was well established prior Covid and since has expanded greatly. It is not being lazy - it is making an informed choice by reading about various products prior to purchase rather than asking a clerk (who will likely only know what provides him the greatest profit) and ending up with c r a p.
  18. 1. A tabian bahn is not required for a bank account. A residence certificate or Embassy letter of address are common alternatives if this is asked. 2. 400k in bank 2 months is the requirement for one year extension of stay on basis of marriage. 3. Everybody got free covid vax and boosters, including tourists.
  19. Negative - he and anyone else can use (including Thai out of home area) Thai system as paying customers but marriage has nothing to do with that. Being married does not allow free access.
  20. Guess you didn't get the memo - there was a world wide pandemic and people were advised to stay home and order for the last 3 years. As for local business most Lazada and Shopee merchants are just that - local sellers rather than big retailers. OK I am also lazy and appreciate getting my money's worth.
  21. I suspect he is in the majority, just as I am. It is the unhappy campers that post - often due to their own misunderstandings. As for delivery companies I have issues about one in twenty or so (delivery after dark or not on day indicated) but would have traffic/check out/store issues if using actual stores.
  22. Actually it has been my experience that such were the problem at hotels and hospitals as could not adjust/hold temp. But have no experience with them in years so maybe they fixed such issues.
  23. Indeed years ago there were such cases - have not seen any reports of such still being the case however - there was no automatic blacklisting for overstay in the past.
  24. Actually employment is still an option and pay can be quite good even for basic fast food jobs. And there are a lot of jobs available.
