  1. You should not even be able to do so as you are far out of the reporting window.
  2. Was it due on the 14th or was the when you received email that it would be due? If actually due on 14th expect you will have to make a late report in person and pay fine (although if in Bangkok they might allow without fine due to 5 day holiday last week). If is actually due about 28th would make a new application and if not approved do in person within a week after due date.
  3. Yes crazy but computer logic is still a bit lacking - needs a set amount to key on. But this is nothing new as 10k has been a trigger as far back as I can recall (actually in Florida it was changed to 4k when I had to buy a house in 1989 due to the drug money there).
  4. It might be easier to transfer the DVD to USB stick and install from that. Suspect most shops could do for a low cost or perhaps your nephew could do if he has access to a player. But at some point it might just be logical to buy a cheap mini PC that can be attached to back of TV or monitor and start over. Below is example of what is available for about 4k (and should take care of any normal home computer tasks if not a gamer or doing major video work). https://www.lazada.co.th/products/mini-pc-alldocube-winbox-intel-n4100-4gb128gb-type-c-1-i3911100354-s15035089379.html
  5. Last year there was no regular mail service to Thailand - and would take months if ever got here. Blue Cross in USA was drop shipping mail overseas to get here and even then could take 2 months. US government mail was also sent from overseas. COVID has made a mess of the worlds shipping. Indeed the high payment private firms have been the only reliable transport - and even they have had issues. As for reason both are valid and suspect the money laundering is the key on possible limitations of transfers. Probably best to keep clam and keep accounts open as want to have as much fallback as possible. Although I did call it quits with the new Twitter - and will live without that.
  6. No more than normal. As for international transfers it is normal fraud prevention to require call in my experience (both with USAA and other US banks). Rather hard to recover funds from some countries I suspect. And currently Thailand is a prime transfer stop for Indian scammers so even more of an issue. I normally receive bank cards in normal mail envelopes as this seems to be the safest method (do not call attention to it). Have never had go missing (but live in Bangkok - upcountry might be more of an issue). You might want to consider direct deposit into Wise account for easy onward transfers to local account - saving use of foreign cards and easy access. Also transfers to Wise from USAA have not changed.
  7. Printouts mean nothing - anyone can make them. You will almost surly be requested to provide a 1 year official bank statement. This is a normal requirement now for those using income method if Embassy does not provide income guarantee letter so they know how to read and they are being asked much more often. If using Bangkok Bank that has to come from Bangkok Hqs and will take a few days so needs to be ordered early.
  8. Well I will add a complaining noise post - neighbor has old constant pressure pump with a solenoid that sounds like a jack hammer. They build an enclosure and there is a wall between house but had to remove window in bedroom to be able to sleep. It is noisy - but that is what you have in Bangkok where homes are very close together. But it does make noise a concern when buying. Grundfos was about the only pump that reported such data and our experience confirms they are very quiet - unlink Mitsubishi models we had previously used (400w models as large house). But the primary reason for the Grundos was ability to adjust water pressure to real levels (3.5-4) bar currently. I suspect there are other quiet pumps but so far have not seen actual measurements published (but that may just be me as not currently looking). But pump noise can be a real concern.
  9. Lets be clear he got a video USB3 to HDMI box with cables (not just cables) and installed any required software (which might be a bit hard if can not see current screen)? Perhaps move to a cheap mini computer (you have keyboard/mouse) and attach to TV or monitor. Should do everything you need for many years. and take up no more space than the all in one.
  10. Why would Amazon reviews on service have much to do with Thailand? I can not speak for that model but have used Grundfos pumps for about 20 years and highly recommend. My current CMB3 type unit is 8 years old with no PM and just had to replace pressure tank and appears set to go another decade (this is a pressure tank type unit so pump off most of the time even when using water).
  11. He mentioned his box could use 5MP camera - not that he was using one. This camera is full color day and night and indeed night almost looks like day. But a prime consideration was able to use old system hardware and know this name as have been using.
  12. Sorry for above - unable to get out of quote or to edit even after posting. Below is a current source for camera - but this is extreme wide angle so might not be what you want - most would likely want 3.6Mm rather than 2.8Mm. Both about same 1k price. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/ds-2ce12df3t-fs-28mm-hikvision-hdtvi-colorvu-2mp-i2621654236-s9400514138.html
  13. I have recently replaced a color day/bw night camera and it uses the same video/power coax and control box. New camera is wide angle HIKVision DS-2CE12DF3T-FS 2.8mm. It appears most equipment sold these days is wireless but this provides good quality view (have not tried to get audio - just basic camera to control box/monitor/HDD).
  14. If she is Filipina does she have previous foreign travel in her passport? PI immigration will not allow travel without proper documents and reasons for travel - to see a "boyfriend" without long documented history would be a huge red flag. Even with BF could be problematic. Immigration has full authority to deny travel if they suspect woman may be taken advantage of. Her current employment will also be a factor. For a current case you might want to check YouTube videos from about a month or two ago from this PI poster: https://www.youtube.com/@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234
  15. But that medication is bad for a lot of people - and often the results are hidden until too late to recover. It should not be prescribed for general use at all IMHO. And suspect if it were not so cheap that would be the case.
  16. Note price is very important to some. Cipo is often the cheapest broad spectrum antibiotic (was designed to be held as last resort for biological warfare) and even some doctors prescribe with no valid reason. This is the only drug I am sure have extreme issues with - would not recommend for anyone as anything but last resort and only after they read up on possible side effects.
  17. They are not a bank but the funds are held in escrow so unless total failure not much real risk. But as said not a place to park our suspected/expected millions if we actually have it.
  18. Suspect it depends on your country - for USA they highly advertise doing so (all information is provided including physical address). But as long as have another bank account working suspect best to continue and only use as an option in case needed. Easy enough to transfer into Wise account as needed.
  19. But those hundreds who came will have provided envelopes with donations (most cash in 500-1,500 baht range) so some/much (sometimes all) of the cost is offset). In our experience a close family member will take responsibility (pay) and receive the donations.
  20. I used to use direct transfer from BBL account and they ceased to accept middle of last month and officially said it was dead as of November 1. Believe they were using external service to process and no longer want to pay. As they will also not accept foreign credit cards they have lost my business (although know average of 15k a month is not that much).
  21. Although can not help with specifics it appears you may also want a visual field test (CVFT) and many hospitals do not seem to have such facilities.
  22. Will add that I had this doctor perform major cancer surgery (bladder removal) six years ago and highly recommend. Very good English and very calm manner. And he knows what he is doing (my operation was observed by international accreditation team and reviewed by US insurance MD) and he treats everyone with respect.
  23. You did read the post above? Even if it were possible your TV almost surly has a USB2 connector which is too slaw for even normal video. Does your android box have input for external video perhaps? Do not believe your TV is "SMART" as you mention the Android box but if it is perhaps can play USB files (but often limited to one hour or less). Expect Android box would have same ability - copy files to USB stick and plug into box and use menu there to play them (USB2 should be fine for that).
