Being caught for testing positive aside with like some weed was before it was legal already 5K by judge decision in court. It's just gonna become a money grab for the police, where you think the complaints come from to begin with, they want a piece of the pie. So they will soon charge all shops, and perhaps randomly take bribes from tourists too. Generally speaking I doubt any Thai nor people like me would care if it changes, keep smoking at home. I mean, they just finished building the 2nd biggest seed plant in Mukhadan, in the world. Seeds will be everywhere.

I never come too early anymore, most people do that already anyway, unless it is like peak high season. I do make sure to be there like at least 2 hours before if it is a more expensive international long haul flight though, in that case I usually like to hang out in free duty areas and a lounge beforehand anyway. On domestic flights I now can leave home 45 minutes before a flight, and still be in time, parking my bike at the airport for free and checking in online. It's almost like taking a bus hehe, just pay for a 1/5 row seat, then not have to deal with the rest of the herd loading and unloading too: 15 minutes driving and parking max worst case 25 minutes security worst case 5 minutes walk to gate

Recycled SIM Card Number Sparks a Year-Long Ordeal
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Funny, I mentioned exactly this in yesterday's post about sim cards and the scam calls. They re-use old numbers here too fast without a cool down period. Has nothing to do with a random shop she bought it for. It has everything to do with how thailand manages their SIM cards + how they enforce illegal callcenters spamming / scamming people. Basically, like everything else, they mess it up. I broke a phone last year while abroad, with a less important but still many years used SIM card for me (its mainly about the data for me), so when I came back to Thailand to get a new ESIM for my new phone, to replace it, I got told the number is now owned by someone else. He likely get calls of my contacts. All this was like 2-3 months only too. -
What is it with americans always talking gross numbers if it comes to how much they can earn and make while in reality they are often broke + need to go to work again. It always sounds like America is this amazing place where everyone earns 6 digits, while in reality everyone lives on creditcards.

Plenty of assumptions, you clearly didn't meet many pilots, seen enough look like him. Secondly, modern commercial flights, as he said he was, have plenty of space.

Have to say it is a very valid big annoying part of daily life in Thailand: traffic. The amount of people driving double lanes alone, that basically causes the traffic jams... I find myself ordering out often just to not get agitated and lose time due to this, while I love driving and nature is great. Last time I was counting for fun, assuming I would be recording, how many times I would fine people doing insane stuff, on a 15 minute scooter ride. I lost count really, but it was over 40 times, 40 different people and at least 5 near accidents.

It's already too late for this, Thailand is like the worst in the world, as all numbers and names in database basically have been leaked. So unless changing to a new number, they keep calling it again and again, as no enforcement for illegal phone call sales / advertising here too. Even with a new number, you likely use a old number of someone else. I get at least 4-5 of these calls a day sometimes, it is just that bad, I basically never answer my phone. Same with SMS messages. Easy hack: just turn off your sim card for calls etc and only use it for the data. Also when losing your phone or whatever, you better be fast, to get a new sim card under your own number, or they already gave it to a new customer, even these numbers are nowadays often linked with 2FA! There is barely any cooldown period!

How to pay cashless at 7-11?
ChaiyaTH replied to MichaelJackson's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Ehh, you must be really not knowledgable if it comes to technology, if you think we need cash, to learn more about you. Every time you walk insidea 7/11, in theory, your phone unique ID is already logged, and therefor, known to have been there. All these small data prints can be identified in seconds by systems that run on big data. Sure in the most simple example I wrote above, they would in theory still not know, what you exactly bought, but the reality for all data prints in total is different. To worry about cash is only if it comes to tax, else it is kind of silly already to use as a argument. Most launderers and criminals even use digital money in 2024 lol. If you want to live a normal life, there is nowhere to hide. Same to hide from USA, almost any financial transaction passes 7 banks of which 1 will be USA. The only issues governments or insurances have now, is enforcement; limited by employees. Imagine how that changes if laws change to allow AI doing it. -
Thai Vietjet Ends Direct Flights from Phuket to Chiang Rai
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
No wonder, there is barely anyone in Chiang Rai in terms of tourists. Flight routes to the north are getting worse and worse though, except if it is to Bangok. I used to be able and fly almost 2 times daily from Chiang Mai to Surat thani as well. Now it's often only 1 flight which also causes you to have to stay one night in surat thani instead of making it to the islands the same day. I am pretty sure this is all by design, they think they can force tourists to do what they want. -
Chiang Mai's 'Rot Daeng' Decline While Grab Gains Momentum

Seems your IQ is really hitting it today, perhaps, because they do not earn that much and this is the only affordable transportation method? -
Chiang Mai's 'Rot Daeng' Decline While Grab Gains Momentum
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
There is certainly not a decline and just as many driving around as always, they are also the biggest cause of traffic jams. Where does this information even come from? And there are actually less and less grabs, as it is super expensive here, more than a taxi cost in Bangkok. Don Muang to Lat prao-Ratchada around 150-160 baht incl the 50 baht airport fee. Chiang Mai for 1/4th distance same price. General ride from lat prao all the way to silom, maybe 150. Chiang Mai city to Homepro sansai; 200-220 baht (half the distance). -

Bad News For Weed Shops: Potent Cannabis Poses Mental Health Risks
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What exparts and what facts are you exactly talking about? That there is a chance for triggering mental issues using a substance in general? You are aware that statistically, the science you try to refer too, says that this is something that depends on the person using it and happens only with a super tiny minority of people? The same as that is the case with alcohol and many others? Or are you trying to say it is something new, that when you abuse a substance, in high doses, daily, for longer times, it could cause issues? Must be a lot of new discoveries... oh wait, nothing new, just Thai politics and commenters who want to join the screaming. To then say others say 'alcohol alcohol alcohol'. To run a country like this, and make decisions like this, that is what is a threat to society and people their mental health.- 233 replies

Thai Prime Minister Begins Diplomatic Tour in Europe and Japan
ChaiyaTH replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Soon more BS statements to come then i guess.. -
This is untrue, it is a nonsense thing many believe but puzzles etc do not prevent you to get alzheimers / dementia etc. It will have more to do with your brain in general, to keep stimulating it, so you also keep releasing the rights chemicals aside from psychical health. People who don't do anything usually get depressed to start with. To then speak of people who over time get memory loss or whatever, what ages are we even talking about. I mean by the time one even makes it to like 70 years old, any issues that come, are part of that age anyway.

I see, now i understand why this forum is dead. These are the subjects and details that make a forum relevant and the place to be, to know the latest things.....

What are the going rates nowadays for short time and long time. Used to be like 30-40 dollars shorttime or 50 for a pretty one.

Always think it's funny to read these type of topics, as I one was this hardcore seller for Lenovo and Dell. After i quit that job, I got a new job that came with a Macbook Air, never looked back ever since. Why I am saying this? Because windows seem to always have bigger and bigger hardware, insane amounts of memory, to then still be slower than my Macbook with like 1/3rd of those specs. Yeah unless it's like a heavy thing, but then I could also go for a macbook pro and still beat it. And this usually while we talk about 1-2 versions earlier even in terms of the model. So even a second/third hand mac is often a better deal in 2024. I think these new Mac Mini's with the M1 processor in it already, are only like 20-30K baht new. About to buy one for a permanent home computer.

You need to be married before the child was born, if not, you are not the legal father, even your name etc is in the birth certificate. In this case you will still need to marry and/or go to family court to get that done. Many offices now no longer extend for child visa in Thailand, when not having that, even they did before. The irony is that they do give you a non-o visa at embassies and consulates abroad, without it. This is about all anyone needs to know. Secondly I found it interesting that I also had to sign papers, when we made a Thai passport for the first time. Makes no sense for both if they look at it like above. Welcome to the country of nonsense 😉

Already had influenza shot in Hong Kong, get another in Thailand?
ChaiyaTH replied to david_je's topic in Health and Medicine
Maybe you can get another AstraZeneca shot, they were so good they are now not given to anyone in the west anymore lol. Hope you are aware that general influenza vaccines are known to be ineffective since like the 70-80s. Why they still give them? It doesn't hurt and makes them money like a placebo. -
You are really a tool lol, reading articles like this, to then think and know you are up-to-date, while this is like years old knowledge. Same time tons of solutions but whatever. These are the worst creatures; those who read that type of tech articles, while being entirely stupid about tech themself.
