Don't cut off the hands that feeds you
ChaiyaTH replied to RafPinto's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think everyone knows thailand is incompetent, but the point is that people are tired of ever changing rules and the lack of a stable climate. I know a lot people who start to experiment living in vietnam etc instead, this is already a trend since before covid, only get worse by the Year. Same thailand is more quiet by the year. -
Targeted Emergency Alert System to Be Put in Place

Yes, they always do things in small steps, but everything globally seems aligned for the same. Less privacy, more control. -
Rogue Immigration Officer?
ChaiyaTH replied to Marky Mark Mark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They just say random things, if it was worse enough, you would been first directed to another supervisor, who would then still let you in too. So take it with a pinch of salt, just to have the onward ticket and money is not that uncommon, specially if you come often. -
I don't think you need to thank god for that, it's not like any USA president was any good for the world, since so many decades. Anyway, I am not even an American but I know you are entirely wrong. They can easily request this information and they would not need access for that themselves. They might just not want to do that, because it likely will take time, to request it, get the result, and then hand it out. The fact that thailand sucks with papers, sure, does that mean America is smart with their action? Not at all, it stops helping Americans with what they need and Thailand is not going to change for America. Perhaps that is your thinking mistake, to think everyone listens to USA. Anyway, I thought this topic was about Norwegian embassy.

Confused about my visa options!
ChaiyaTH replied to Nedrapter's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Let me guess, another guy doing a long distance relationship, to realize nothing is what it seems as soon he moves here. And he then is asking about visa options already? This is gonna be a popcorn follow up topic for sure in a year. You can already tell the level of intelligence, as the Thai partner can't even explain the visa options to him lol. -
Any ideas for usage of excess solar energy?
ChaiyaTH replied to Pink7's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
If you want to make money, you have to do your own research. I already gave you the essential clues: ant miner up to 2K usd, bitcoin, no energy cost. The reason so few people make money, or make money with this, is because almost nobody is willing to invest some time into doing the research that is relevant to their specific situation, let alone to then also act on it. You can do it clearly, so do it, you will be happy in just 6-12 months already (will break even the cost). A few cents is when you mess around with a graphic card driver and also have to pay the average western rate of energy. Not comparable. If you assume it's break even in 8 months, and it lasts 12 months, you make 4 months money with 200-300 dollar per month, not sure your hourly rate, but sure that can deserve some time to invest into the matter to know. And it can easily run a few years. -
Tourism confidence in Thailand plummets amid economic jitters
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, India etc is horrible too as they nowadays all play middle men there, resulting in low quality or well, so many things, you know. My dream 12 years ago was always to start a Thai company, I already saw it before me, 4 staff and me, a work permit. Yeah sure, could have hired the staff the same week 12 years ago, but none had any skills, it would just cost me money, to then still need to hire more elsewhere. The ones that can do it, cost as much as someone in Europe cost. Even businesses here that do something else and make money, could make much more money, if the staff wast just slightly more competent. -

If you have quite a bit of energy and can afford a Bitcoin antminer for up to 2K dollar, you would actually be able to cash daily 10-20 dollars. Would not start with anything else, just do that, and even sit on the coin you collect as the price isn't that high now. It's kind of sad in a way, just to have this with solar, can be better than a fulltime job as a Thai. -

Mine crypto with the difference in energy if you otherwise waste it anyway, might be the most simple way to use it. I don't know how much you have. Growing weed is worth it too, even if you would sell it at 50 baht a gram, as of no energy costs. If you have quite a bit of energy and can afford a Bitcoin antminer for up to 2K dollar, you would actually be able to cash daily 10-20 dollars. -
Tourism confidence in Thailand plummets amid economic jitters
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Same we usually go to another country, Vietnam is populair among my Thai friends (in their twenties) too. No wonder, we can get 10 beers for like 300 baht there, a very nice room for only 400-500 (or they just book the entire dorm with 6 people for 80 each). But how are people surprised, same to blame covid, this down trend already started before covid. And it is the result of the Thai their actions. Will only get worse for them, Vietnam will basically do everything better than Thailand. They already produce 40K IT students yearly now, that are way better than Thais are. So far our company hired 2, in Thailand we found 0 in a decade. Many people just endlessly defend Thailand, because they so far were not the target, or because they are stuck here regardless, while not being objective at all. Anyone who has a bit of brains, and is realistic, knows this is all true. The USA could not even beat Vietnam, let alone Thailand.- 76 replies

You are clearly not an entrepreneur, you would be bankrupt in no-time. Normally Thais always pass and rarely can fail. I would actually think this might not be as bad as it sounds in reality, the teacher might have felt motivated to do his best more and the students will have pressure to do do their homework, specially as the parents tell them they won't want to pay. They also sign this paper themselves, I do not see any mention of it being forced. I would think it is worse if my son his teacher doesn't care, and just let him pass regardless.

South African-Thai Woman Crowned Miss Thailand World 2023

Guess the problem is that what is beautiful or not is subjective lol. Just looking at the majority people their taste, interior in their houses, clothes they wear, I have little faith in such statements lol. -

Not sure where you pull that from, most of the girls there in reality the ones who want fake boobs, fake nose, whitening creams and more. The only reason they did not do it = $$$ -
Pointless and stupid to grow autoflower outdoors, it is a waste of seeds even. If you want to grow outdoor, use normal seeds, and the time of the year is not relevant in Thailand like it is in in for example countries like UK, Netherlands, Germany etc weather wise. Even growing outdoor, I would still first start with artificial light.

I think you would use these to grow new seedlings with weed lol. Again and again it proves itself; paying for quality is so much worth it.

No reason at all to live the rest of the time in a low tax juridisction, you can simply live under 180 days in 2 countries and use a third as tax residency, with effectively zero tax. You can bet money on that many people will do this too, if Thailand enforces this. From that point onwards, Thailand will go downhill only faster than in the past 10 years. Because people will over time likely stop going to Thailand entirely, or only for a few weeks a year, if being forced out most of the year, due to this. So let's see what the monkies decide.

It's again more about the legal aspect, if it would be a criminal thing to hide it, and even they just find 1 dollar, it's not the tax of the dollar you worry about but the jail time consequences. Doubt any countries let alone banks or other providers would just start sharing all their info with Thailand. I mean, I doubt as much that the average western country looks into accounts in Cambodia or wherever, if it's not insane amounts. However technology and new money systems might change this within a decade. That is what one should fear hiding money while having to pay tax. I prefer legally not paying tax / minimizing it.
-
Well yeah, that is kind of what it comes down too if it does come to taxing for real. If I would become a tax resident back home in my country in Europe, I can actually, with my girlfriend not earning, having a child, earn easily up to 2500 euro without effectively paying any tax at all, as a small business owner. This while if I would earn this in Thailand, I'd end up paying 10-15K tax a month, getting zero in return on top, while in europe I would also get all kinds of other benefits + even a basic old day pension lol, well what is basic, it's actually near 50K baht. They lost their minds if they push this, while not even giving us permanent residency or other benefits in return. Wish anyone a lot of fun paying for it, if it does happen, I won't pay it here. Thailand has zero to offer, to make it worth paying taxes, as a foreigner. Unless it's just paying fake taxes, I mean like so many local foreign owners do here, paying 2-3K max.

There is like zero news in this entire post, or am I the only one who can read that from it? He is giving 4-5 examples that are the obvious to anyone in the first place, obviously you do not pay double tax if you already pay tax elsewhere. The entire point is how it works with for example savings that are older already. And how to prove that. Aside from that it effects people who live or run off-shore. And so many other things. If anyone was worried just because of what is explained in this topic, I am surprised.

Most do but still shortages on the dark blue milk in many 7/11's, has been taking longer than I expected. Better to just buy the big ones at makro, well better to buy anything there, it's way cheaper. And it still goes to the same owner anyway lol.
-
I think the corner 7/11 of a tourist his proximity earns more than the hotels and restaurants earn from the same tourist, in terms of net profits. Specially with backpackers. In fact, I think 7/11 earns the most on any Thai in Thailand, compared to all other companies and the government. Maybe the only exception would be banks or lenders, for those with a big mortgage and/or big loans. It's horrible enough in terms of monopoly, and a shame they not at least offer more quality take away food and drinks.
