  1. What you are stating is not what I am reading from the article. ''On 15 September 2023, the Thai Revenue Department issued Departmental Instruction No. Por 161/2566 (“DI No. 161/2566”) as a guideline to assist tax officers in determining the personal income tax implications for foreign-sourced income brought into Thailand by Thai tax residents. DI No. 161/2566 provides a new interpretation of Section 41 Paragraph 2 of the Thai Revenue Code: the assessable income under Section 40 of the Revenue Code derived by a resident of Thailand in the previous tax year — from employment, a business carried on overseas, or property situated overseas — that is brought into Thailand should be subject to personal income tax in the tax year that the said assessable income is brought into Thailand. '' So yes, you would pay taxes even it is earnings from a year ago in the new scenario, but you will still not pay any tax on the money you earn abroad, that you do not bring into Thailand, which is a significant difference. I suspect the part of ''that is brought into Thailand'' was also designed for the Elite, not to be friendly to us. This also makes the entire story logical. However the question would still be how this works for specific things like retirement, or money you saved up while being taxed in the past etc etc. There is not really a way to proof this.
  2. You thought to have survived all roads in Thailand to then die being hit by a speed boat idiot captain.
  3. That is with most things, same as for having goals in life, setting up a business etc. Most people just talk and complain or make excuses, but those who decide to really do it, usually achieve it sooner than expected.
  4. I sincerely doubt they would refuse it, more likely they even taught him how to shoot better.
  5. Obviously I mean at the end either a 30 or 60 day extension with papers as usual. They just suck in Chiang Mai, I already got hold via contacts of other offices who say it is nonsense to need a court document. For now, I just gonna fly out and get a new non-o visa, and then extend yearly down south. Leaving Chiang Mai forever within the next 3 months.
  6. I am not married but do have a Thai child since 5 years, I am obviously also on the birth certificate and have done non-o visa with extensions of 60 days, as well a while yearly extensions. This all without any issues, as well I did these 60 day extensions in Chiang Mai before multiple times. I was intending to just do a 30 day extension as of travel plans yesterday and had all papers required prepared properly. I was then told that I can not do a 30 day extension on a single entry non-o visa, which confused me. I then told my girlfriend/mother and son to come with me, aside of the additional paperwork for that, to do a 60 day extension instead. They then refused it again, saying I would need a document from court now, to be able and do that. This is complete nonsense, but I hit the wall, all he could do was a 7 day extension. I refused that obviously, and now plan to fly to Hanoi last minute, I guess. Can anyone confirm this to be nonsense or true? And can anyone tell me if it is nonsense, if i should be able to still do a 30 day extension elsewhere? That would be easier than leaving tomorrow already. I'm really starting to be done with Chiang Mai immigration, as well now this new tax law, then now the cannabis reverse, starting to get really on my end of limits. It was much easier down south, in Bangkok and Isaan. Never gonna deal with CM again, not even for yearly, as I do have 400K to deposit too. Done with them after this.
  7. If that was a argument you could probe all of them.
  8. He is wrong regardless, some services are not available in every place where the person lives but they do offer it in BKK / Pattaya.
  9. The old saying 'saam saam saam' with Japanese is for a reason. 3cm, 3 minutes, 3k baht. Chinese easily pay 5k even. Guess that is why we don't see the hot looking girls in the western bars anymore too. We westerners more like the 1500-2000 baht for 1 hour or longer.
  10. Not sure it is limited it to the teens alone, almost all of them are, even they work, they work so slow/inefficient that they either need 2-3 times the normal time for it, or they work with 2-3 times the amount of people for it, and sometimes even both. This also reveals that Thais could actually already earn 30-40K a month, if they were proper. This is confirmed by the minority who is, and earns that, or more.
  11. Go pay a consultant then, bye.
  12. You mean that a person in 2023 is considered good, if he is focusing on a lot of bad things and acting on it, even he himself keeps allowing other things to continue as usual, or has (had) interests in this now or in the past. And that a actual real good person, will be canceled, if one small thing goes viral, he did wrong.
  13. There is nothing to control on that anymore, they made young Thais their life so desperate, most don't even want kids. Same in the west. Birth rate is too low almost everywhere. Even I do not bad at all, I limited myself to 1, due to all the costs. Wanted 2.
  14. As far I know many teens used to experiment with yaba, they might now prefer weed, but that was already an upcoming trend before it became legal too. Together with those sloppy jeans or 90s style. Same time they have less money nowadays, drinking costs more too. It's completely stupid and backwards anyway, even they now close all shops, anutin and his team will be the only growers and sellers, most get their medicinal crooked license anyway. Aside from that, weed will be even more available, for lower prices, on the dark market. Plus people can just grow themselves, Thailand is flooded with grow materials and seeds, I have a 2000 watt setup with a 2.4M by 1.2M tent myself too, with some luck, lasts me easily 10 years. Always thought it was smart to buy that knowing Thailand changes direction all the time, I also have a fridge seed bank, might make me some money in the near future. Else I smoke it.
  15. Because of what? Is not like they found 5 bodies that just passed away a few days ago. There are way more horrific crime scenes than this, even the criminal act in this specific case is worse than most. Finding that sliced up Colombian must be worse, all tho, they been lucky as the head is still missing.
  16. This is really beyond belief, also the ignorance of people living around him. But again in Thailand it just seems totally normal, another day another story with these psycho events.
  17. Chickens are only a problem if they are not giving me eggs anymore. Then I eat them. Just wake up at the same time, it is a good time anyway, and buy a dog to make sure the chicken stays away. Problem solved. It amazes me how in 2023 western people their problem are things like a animal, or a tree taking their sun shine away, even it was there already for decades. If you really hate it that much, pay up 2K baht for some wood and net stuff, build them a nice chicken house, neighbors might even like you forever after that. They can then keep the loud ones in the dark longer too. Don't expect them to do that themself, it's your issue.
  18. Why would you do that? I honestly wonder this, why? Because you could keep things in Brisbane or even sell them, as it is much cheaper to buy almost any item new here again. Same for things like a TV etc. The costs and all that is a lot of hassle too. Would be much easier too if you just send some specific items or smaller things. The only time I would consider doing this, is if I leave Thailand to Europe, because then it is worth it. Not in reverse. If you ask me this is the most common rookie mistake of people who migrate.
  19. If you use apple you can just download the app from the appstore on your laptop I think. Otherwise you could also just use a emulator that can install and run apps.
  20. Maybe you were counting the white/orange stripes on the road too much, there is plenty of scenic view along the way. Also plenty of places you can stop for something. Bit useless to ask this from the OP side, you just drive without a plan, and then experience.
  21. Lol, you do not even need to be rich to eat at good restaurants in Bangkok here, let alone to get to start talking about the definition 'wealthy'. You pay here at a top end rooftop restaurant what you pay in a ordinary 2 star back home. Maybe you should move bubbles and learn to know different people in your life, there are plenty who earn decent and would not even meet up for less than a foreign food place. To live on one of the countries you name, and do like this, I would need to earn at least 15K or more, else I would not even consider it.
  22. Not really, you just told him to flash cash, short time alone is gonna cost around $71.94
  23. You are talking about the fact that what other peoples remember or think about in their lives, of when you lived your life, even at that point you yourself would no longer be around. 1) Who cares, you are not around so you won't even need to care or know. 2) How is this relevant to what matters in life, as life is right now, or your timeline individually from birth to present to when you are death, which you won't know at exact moment, so it will basically be birth to present until present stops. 3) Knowing 1 &2: Of course life matters, in the way you want your life to be, as that is all you know is sure for now. If you are unhappy with your life in general, that has zero to do with what you are saying in the topic. To answer your question, sure I know my grandparents, but my great grand parents not really, why? They died before I was even 7 and I remember little in general from under that age, if they somehow died much later, for sure i still had memories and sometimes a thought. What did you expect? I am gonna go back 100 generations and spend 1 hour per month to think about each of them, while that adds zero value to them or me? Just to maintain regular contact with your entire family, i mean entire, would be a fulltime job.
  24. I have a connection that ships for A grade indoor from 1 gram at 250 baht a gram, from 10 grams 200-220 baht a gram, from 50 grams 200 baht a gram, if you are interested. This is just from Thai growers, has nothing to do with import, it's normal. If you buy a lot the prices are even less, always been like that, if you know where to buy of course.
