  1. welp. mailed the passport day after return from cambodia. Now just sitting in no-mans' land praying they get it back to me in time for the extension. And honestly, after doing my first border run, I'll be looking for different visa to use. Losing a full day to travel (and the discomfort of it)...it's probably costing me more in lost monies than saving me. Plus I got to watch one guy get denied getting back in when a new girl came in at shift change. I don't like those kind of surprises.
  2. I haven't been home in about 3 years, but intend to fly back in sept/oct. I have one last land border run allowed which would take me to almost august. then I need to figure out a way to stay another 2 months ish. I don't qualify for retirement yet... and education, etc is overpriced for that short term. Wish it was as easy as places like the philipines, but hey...part of the fun I guess, right?
  3. thanks so much for the info. I assumed all that would be covered when I sent it in for renewal...but reading this post I got a little nervous for a second. Thank you again for sharing.
  4. Not the way people commit suicide. the ferocity, strength and determination to cut deep enough and fast enough to complete slit across the whole neck to die quietly in bed ? What, was he also Gaijin Samurai?
  5. Yes US passport. You are both saying letter automatically is shipped back with the passports? (this makes sense, but governments have no common sense usually). US Embassy. Land border Cambodia. Jomtien immigration.
  6. Yes, that's pretty much it. So according to you an additional letter will be needed from the Embassy will be needed for immigration to transfer the stamp at local immigration... ****(and not required to go to the border where I got the stamp, right?). so I will need to email the Embassy and make a special request for that letter to be mailed back to me along with my passports? this correct?
  7. I am awaiting a new passport from the embassy now. I'm currently on 45 visa exempt. Are you saying I'll need to travel to the border to get re-stamped/ stamp transferred in order to get my next 30 day stamp at immigration?
  8. I could actually go and eat Mcdonald's burgers for a month straight and not gain fat. Now, would my arteries be ok? No. But if stuck to their burgers and cheese only, you'd be fine weight wise....even lean up being protein and fat only. Now, part of the problem is the sauces they put on them and not just that its bread on the meat...they fill their processed bread with sugar too. But again, if you strictly ate their burgers, no buns, for a month you'd trim up. **now talking about their real meat. I think they sell two kinds still?
  9. can you believe this...they are calling the participation trophy's kid's kids the "alpha generation"
  10. That would be great. Thank you. By chance, can you tell me if you are looking more in the central pattaya beach area or more inland? My GF also is usually mistaken as Thai by other Thais, and the kids don't even speak Cambodian, only Thai. They've only been in Thai schools in their life as well.
  11. Which school specifically gave you this information? Yes, I'm also under this impression that not just thai kids go for free. *** I was also told by a woman here with two kids that she has enrolled other kids for her friends and THEY went free because she enrolled them under her Blue Book from owning a condo. So I assumed we would have to pay something more in lines with what Britman was saying...3-4k per term if not under a blue book. 15,000 is a big difference from 8k. And I'm trying to learn what the total would be too, as Britman also mentions another 5k for what would be two terms I believe. If 15,000 includes ALL the fees for 6 months that's not too bad. But are you positive of being listed in a Blue Book to attend? this seems contrary to other info.
  12. thank you. that makes perfect sense. Anyway to check on which close schools are "better'? Or is that not even a thing and all goverment schools the same?
  13. Basically 7/11 diet of processed foods, especially any and all drinks (95% of them all based around sugar ingredients) including fancy coffees and teas (that traditionally would be some of the best drinks for you dietary wise - but no longer). Same afflicition of western world
  14. Post online you have come into BIG money. Post pics with hotter girls. Take her back when she calls and say you can't live without her. You want to share your new luck with her. Tell her want to start new bigger biz, but have to sell bikes first. Break up again, but this time SELL BIKES FIRST. lol
  15. I think you are saying the same thing...but junk food sugar, processed food sugar, sugar drinks (coffee's, teas included). And of course their are healthy fats and unhealthy fats. But fat in of itself is not bad. Grass fed butter, meats, fish, coconuts etc is great for you. And no, sugar in your fruit and real/natural foods not gonna kill you. But sugar in all your other foods most certainly will, or adding it into all your cooking sauces, etc.
  16. What is the process (and is it even possible) to enroll Cambodian children into a thai government school? More details: the two kids are already enrolled into Thai schools and have been for 6 years already. They are more Thai than Cambodian in culture. They only have student cards, no other documents that I am aware of. However, the person sponsoring them will no longer be keeping them enrolled soon (details not required here). I am Farong, GF is Cambodian. I've looked up past posts here and it SEEMS like it would be possible to pay for them to attend locally, something like 3000 baht a term. But I'm unsure, and definitely 100% clueless on the process to get it done if it is possible. Can anyone share information on how to enroll them (in Pattaya/Jomtien area specifically if that matters). Thank you
  17. sugar would definitely be the number one cause. The vehicle for the delivery of that is the ease of consumption of it in all the processed foods and drinks thru convenience stores now. Of course, lethargy or lack of exercise is number two. You can fight thru bad diet if you are a physical labor machine (see Michael Phelps diet when he was competing). 12,000 calories and a huge amount of carbs while at it. For breakfast, this is what he ate: 3 fried egg sandwiches with tomatoes, fried onions, mayo, lettuce, and cheese One five egg omelet One bowl of grits 3 slices of French toast dusted with powdered sugar 3 chocolate chip pancakes 2 cups of coffee It seems that his intention was to start the day off really well. For lunch, he took it a little easier: A pound of enriched pasta Two large ham-and-cheese sandwiches with mayo on white bread 1,000 calories of energy drinks For dinner, he had perhaps his lightest meal of the day: Another pound of pasta One 8-inch pizza Several energy drinks
  18. I rolled laughing anytime I saw someone go to accuse turn themselves in for a 100,900 hospitel lock up
  19. never been there but dang so much hate in here
  20. YOu can try duck duck go search engine, Although I hear they have already been flipped to the dark side despite being created for those who didn't want the narratives only links displayed when doing searches. Still worth a try. but for shopping, it hard to beat google still imo.
  21. you do not want to use that for product searches. It's data is a year old. To chatgpt Iphone 14 isn't even out yet. besides, I see bad things coming from using something like this. It just gives an answer and you are supposed to take it as god's word, when really it's just the answer the powers be want you to hear: ie , yes, men can give birth to babies being such an example. on the flip side, I hear bing has already incorporated AI with their search and is fun to use at this stage in the game, and better than google.
  22. I feel like the reporter could have easily taken the time to discover what the 'posted' law is for that street, no? But if I'm seeing heavy traffic driving on a street, despite postings, and I'm singled out by non law enforcement I might stand my ground as well if pushed. Also. Are we sure these are swedes? Also look just like people from Finland.
