Just look around you...How many things in Thailand are murky and unclear? Loads of things.. Weed laws Vaping enforcement Alcohol sales hours enforcement.. The 10,000 baht payday for Thais.. How about the law landlords cant charge more than government rate for electric...This one was not worth the paper it was written on...lol Need I go on... They quite like things in a state of murkiness in Thailand...And this tax is a bonanza of murkiness, that I doubt will ever be made clear..... Just the way they like things....

People here forget this half baked mess of a so called tax is also for the millions of Thais too who know nothing about paying a tax because the never have....This is the common folks... You can be sure the very wealthy will make sure they never cough up a single baht for any tax...

If the government wants the weed shops closed they all must revive compensation.. But whats really going to happen is.. The weed shops will be told they are still free to sell legal weed with .02 THC or less........lol I am sure no one will have a problem with paying 100-200 baht a gram for dirt weed... Thousands of weed shop owners will be left in serious debt and bankrupt..

Thai government to tax all income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 The word '' ALL'' in this sentence is 100% incorrect....And I wish it would be fixed.. With a LTR visa there is no tax on income from abroad even if you never leave Thailand...

Forget the motorbike...If you want to save money ride the baht bus and always try and talk the driver down...Tell him you will only pay 5 baht not 10...

So expats could Gift each other 2 or 3 or 5 million baht a year... 2 expats with good harts giving each other money....I would consider that very legitimate....... And and to show what a true friend you are you might just want to gift your friend a few million every year....And your friend would return the favor.... Thailand can be known as country full of expat gift givers... Now that will be some good PR for Thailands expats...

The point of my post was, That compared to the 10s of millions of Thais who dont file taxes and the mega wealthy any money they might hope to extract from expats would only be a drop in the bucket.... The more well off expats would just get a LTR visa and not have to pay 1 baht in taxes ever for the rest of their life.... Which would only leave the expats of more modest means who budget and watch their spending much more closely so they can lead a decent life living off their pension and savings and maybe a few small modest investments.... This so called income tax will not tax the rich expats at all but will pick over the bones of those expats with the least amount of money to spare, who watch their spending and budget.. That is if this poorly thought out mess ever goes anywhere, which is very doubtful...

Pattaya beach?.......Yea before they cut down all the shade trees and removed most of the seating it was kind of nice... But now.....Pattaya beach is a very hot almost unusable place now during the day unless you pay to sit under a umbrella...

Not to mention the Chinese and Russians who seem to have zero interest in any of this tax nonsense.... Until then I would not worry..... The laughably small retired Expat taxes would barely be a scrap of food at a buffet........

I went by the beach today and saw almost ZERO people there........I have seen busier graveyards.....

The Chinese need to be bused every where....They do every thing in a group....So lots of buses are needed day and night...
