Supermarkets and Makro have their place for buying bulk stuff like potatoes,paper towels, soap etc.... But the selection on Lazada is so vast and well priced that I now do quite a bit of food shopping online... As far as the markets selling consumer goods....Forget it....Lazada puts them to shame.....

Yes you are correct regarding taxes being owed on the interest from the principal.....But considering I am a bit short of that billion dollars, I had not thought that far ahead...lol But no taxes would ever be paid on the principal itself excluding the interest paid....

This is one of many reasons this tax has more holes in it than swiss cheese.....Its all a bloody joke... And not one person here can say I am wrong... You can wire in 1,000,000,000 one billion USA dollars to Thailand stay 179 days leave and come back 6 months later and not owe a single baht in taxes ever in the future...... Sweet.....lol And hey this is only one of the holes in this ridiculous tax...

Like I have said before...If there were criminal penalties for not filing taxes, they would have to turn Thailand into a giant prison camp to house the 10s of millions of Thais who do not file or pay taxes.... Especially the poor and the rich Thais see no benefit to filing.... The middle class do get benefits from paying taxes like they should, including, top notch heath care for life, and old age Social Security so more middle class file taxes or should I say paying taxes allows them also to pay into these programs..
