  1. I guess too much information, so in very simple terms. Her long time (Danish) partner, who even after all those years never divorced, died and left her very little money. By the time she had paid outstanding bills etc, whatever money she could access here in Thailand has basically gone. She cannot claim any money that he had saved in Denmark, and his family won’t help. She has to empty their rented house and then fly back to the Philippines and start her life again.
  2. We live in Bangtalad, Pakkret, basically 2-3kms from Bangkok Immigration. Also has a lot of her daughters good quality clothing as daughter went to the Philippines to visit and got stuck there.
  3. A friend who lived in our village, he was quite old, died about three weeks ago. He had lived with his partner who is from the Philippines for at least twenty five years and that have a twenty odd years old daughter who is living in the Philippines. He never divorced his Danish wife. It appears that he has left her basically destitute with little to no chance of getting any help from the guy’s family. She just has the furniture in the rented house which we are all trying to help her sell. Her landlord says that she has to clear the house. Luckily she does have a few Philippine friends. Also her embassy might give some assistance in getting her back home. Her Retirement Visa runs out mid November. So I am wondering if, like there is in the UK, a house clearance company that could help clear the house and get her a little money. I wonder if a Go Fund Me for her flight might be possible, but don’t know how to set one up … guess Google is your friend. Also maybe I could try Baht and Sold. Anyone got any other helpful advice tks
  4. No, it’s not gone yellow and we bought the house new in 2004.1 It just doesn’t look new anymore but what can you expect after all this time. Let’s wait and see what this magic stuff that Mrs PF has ordered does. l’ll post a before and after photo.
  5. Thank guys for the inputs I bought some of that HG UPVC cleaner. Didn’t notice much difference, if any. Anyway Mrs PF has ordered some acetone based UPVC cleaner that she saw advertised. So will give that a try. I’ll update if it is any good. Certainly haven’t noticed any yellowing, there again my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be.
  6. Sorry mate, I should have been more tactful with my reply. Obviously caught the illness from reading too many TV posts ????
  7. It’s all being used now but yes it did. It certainly work well.
  8. I am not going to have all my white UPVC windows painted. They look OK to me anyway it’s just Mrs. I’ve seen a product by HG that looks interesting. I think HomePro have it.
  9. We are having the house painted so an ideal time to get all of your UPVC cleaned. When we bought the house, the builder Left some cleaner. I think it might have been CTC. Whatever it was it worked well. Can anyone suggest what they have had a lot of success with please. I’ve already tried the vinegar and hot water and it doesn’t work well.
  10. I’ve used my iPhone XS Max, in a phone holder when the car cam stopped working whilst out. Fantastic video compared to the car cam. I found it got a bit unless you you dimmed the screen to min. and give it some air con.
  11. Actually the ones that attach to the mirror are okay. You can easily adjust the angle of the lens if you have adjusted the mirror. Mrs and I are ‘not exactly’ the same height never needed to adjust the lens after adjusting the mirror. But be advised don’t get one where the camera picture is in the right side of the mirror. Car cams seem to accept the temperatures here and keep working BUT do tend to come unstuck and you are likely to find it on the floor when you return to your vehicle. Yes best to get one with a rear camera.
  12. Take or leave my advice, if you will. I am only asking that you first try celibacy for 20 years before reaching any final judgement. ************** Unfortunately, I am 75 years old, so very unlikely to be able to try that. it does sound a great idea though ????
  13. Every time I’ve been out I do about the same. Plus rinse out my nose with salt water and then drink water hoping to wash any virus down into my tummy… no idea if it works or not but
  14. Does anyone know what chemicals are normally use please. The English name or the time name. Chemicals for the routine maintenance, not to get rid of big termite mounds/ nests when you find them And I wonder if any company will actually provide a data sheet for what they use, probably asking that is just a waste of time.
  15. Tks. Is it Grand Pest Control? I see different phone numbers but will try that one.

  19. I get asked every year if I am still alive by the pension people so that is not really an option for long.
  20. Do you think I did that on purpose… if you report it a mod might fix
  21. I never considered that my wife would receive a government Widows Pension even though she is a British Citizen, now aged sixty five.. She never worked when we lived in the UK neither did she have an NI Number. A friend his circumstances are :- Now living in Thailand with Full UK Pension, he is aged 75. His wife lived in the UK and did get ILR and I believe had an NI Number His wife has been out of the UK for a few years so will have lost her ILR, as I understand. Someone can confirm? His wife is well under pension age. He thinks that she will be entitled to a widows pension. Can anyone advise on this as he needs to set up for the time when he is dust. tks
