I have a 2021 Benz so it has ABS and as well as me stomping the foot down it sounded the hazard alarm and brake assist activated when the sensors saw the danger. Lock-up was just a term I used to describe the scenario. Like I said, in a heavier vehicle with poorer brakes e.g. a pick-up he would have been hit. No doubt. My speed was an estimate, didn't have time to clock the speedo but I was in comfort mode and cruising.

I sounded the horn to alert him he was coming over possibly in front of me and was about to be hit. After I locked up and he was on the move he gave me the finger. Lol. I then pulled alongside him at the u-turn and gave him a bit of an ear bashing. Like I said, if I was in the pick-up or another work vehicle he would have been hit for sure.

I am driving along Sukhumvit in my car, doing about 80kph in the outside lane and an older farang on an orange cruiser bike, turned out from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, crossed three lanes to do a u-turn right in front of me, without looking. I had to lock-up my brakes to avoid hitting him. He was lucky I saw him early and knew what his was going to do. A local wouldn't have anticipated that. You would have been dead if I wasn't driving a car with decent brakes mate, if I was in a pick-up or SUV and I would have hit you. It was a wet road too. Another couple of bits of advice for you (sorry for sounding like old father Thames): 1. Don't go giving Thais the finger like you did me mate, if you anger one of the local nutters they will just ride you off the road. 2. You are a visitor in a foreign country, not to mention a senior, so tone down the aggression, or you won't last long. It's easy for anyone to find out who we are here!

How to Save Thailand and Malaysia From Rising Sea Levels
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As Malaysia and Thailand are both in the top ten of marine polluters, maybe they can live on the giant garbage patches in the ocean that they have created? -
Saudi – Thai relations ‘back to normal says Prayut
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We will probably never know: 1. What happened to the Blue Diamond? 2. Who has it now? 3. Whether any of the remaining jewelry was recovered and returned? 4. Whether Thailand paid reparations to normalise relations? 5. Whether Thailand apologised? 6. Why no-one has ever been caught and punished for the murders of Saudi diplomats in central Bangkok? All the important questions journalists here refuse to ask. -

Nice to see the working man's game being marketed as affordable to the masses. -
They have done an excellent job in reducing the number of overstayers. Some may argue and say that there's nobody here to begin with but I would counter by saying they have effectively used technology combined with cutting edge Policing methods and strong deterrents such as 5 year bans to eradicate one of Thailand's most pressing of problems. There's no farm or remote village 60 year old farangs can hide in now. Well done RTP!

‘Big Bike’ rider dies after crashing into Chonburi bridge
Mr Meeseeks replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
A bird the size of a pheasant hit me in the face and chest the other day. I was doing about 80km/h and had my visor down and my padded riding jacket on... Still, was a bit of a shock and I stopped to check if the bird was ok but no sign of it. I had mild discomfort with a bruise on my chest the next day. -
