  1. From the video it is blatant he is driving too fast. He is also in the outside lane.
  2. Pretty much. On that docu I mentioned they observed wood being used in the construction of the bus frames. Cue the Thai official saying that "we have the engineers" and excusing the poor construction methods and almost complete lack of safety.
  3. These types of VIP buses are also manufactured here by small businesses and not crash tested for safety at all, which is why, as we can see, they crumple like paper in a high speed impact. There was a documentary on British Channel 4 about these buses some time ago, after three English lads were killed in a similar accident to this one.
  4. No, the driver of the Porsche has already admitted to switching lanes quickly and hitting the motorbike, so we do know it's his fault. He's hinting at 'unusual wealth'. Isn't that what it is normally called here? Also making a point that a billionaire is not likely to be doing his Police Officer's job properly.
  5. Great article from Cod, and he puts it more eloquently and succinctly than I did on the other thread: "I am not saying there is corruption involved in the company. I am just saying Wirachai must be a hell of a business person to be able to run a clean energy company and also carry out his duties as a police officers." Indeed.
  6. Easy with a populace so uneducated and cowed. Nobody ever dares to ask their 'betters' a question. Thai kultcha innit.
  7. Pakistanis are not considered farang. The slang term 'kek' is used to describe them by Thais.
  8. For perspective, about the same amount of people die on Thailand's roads each day. Both statistics are a disgrace.
  9. It's pretty obvious that they should not be allowed big bikes as they are not responsible enough, competent to ride them, belligerent or a combination of all three. I think the government has the right idea about stricter, separate licensing for big bike riders, but I'm sure the implementation and system will be where it will fall down and it will not make any difference. Coupled with an almost complete lack of enforcement, I can't see the Thais being able to sort this. Maybe they need to admit defeat and seek outside help, from experts in the UK for example. Meanwhile there are more big bikes on the road than ever, less skilled riders than ever and these big bike fatality stories are a daily occurrence here in this news section.
  10. Better we just strive towards destroying each other as that is an eventuality for the human race imo. The prophecy will be fulfilled.
  11. Disagree. Any use of tactical nukes would be unacceptable and provoke retaliation. Even China, N. Korea and other Russian sympathisers would find the use of tactical nukes impossible to defend.
  12. They are mercenaries mate, meaning no fighting under a flag thus no escalation and Putin had given them fair warning previously. They know the risks. Advice for whom exactly?
  13. He inherited billions from his father so he must be an expert in everything. Thai kultcha innit.
  14. For the kids certainly, lots more hours spent watching tik tok or playing minecraft. Preparing them for a life inside the metaverse, being fed through a tube.
  15. The other thing they don't know is left foot down so they can hold the bike on the brake with the footbrake. They have never been taught properly how to drive. Similar to how they never look over their shoulder in the opposite direction when turning and never look over their shoulder before moving from a standing start. Just watching them it is obvious to a properly trained bike rider that they cannot ride properly.
  16. Nothing to be proud of for sure. It's no wonder the Police are feared and distrusted by local Thais, and condemned as an organised criminal organisation by some international bodies.
  17. There was one in Pattaya that ripped off hundreds of farangs to the tune of millions.
  18. It takes some effort to kill that many people in such a short period of time. Can you imagine our countries at war these days and those sorts of casualty figures coming through? There would be a national outcry and people out on the streets daily.
  19. I think you are being somewhat disingenuous or perhaps missing the point that most people are wanting to know how someone can start such a business on such a low Policeman's salary? It would be difficult enough to open and run a successful small-scale Thai food restaurant business on such a salary, for example. Much like Thaksin, being a failed businessman and a potless bankrupt to getting the concession for his mobile phone business. He also was a Police Lt. Col. don't forget. That also made him a billionaire within a fairly short period of time. But it was the questionable nature of that conscession that ultimately led to his success. It's the way things work here. I doubt he's a business genius in renewables in the sense of starting his own company in his shed a la Apple or Microsoft. You don't start a successful business like that here. I would even go so far as to say it's not possible. You do need good business acumen for the environment you operate in though, that is an absolute certainty.
  20. We had one land in the school playground in the late 80's for the combined cadet force to have a look at.
