  1. I should clarify, most diesels available in Thailand. Obvs some of the sportier German diesels will be quicker, no doubt about that.
  2. Yes, you can assume the bike was being ridden in a careful and proper manner, if you wish to do so. Those modified bikes with the anodized, lighweight components, skinny tyres and aftermarket mufflers are built for speeding. I note the mirrors appear to be removed also...
  3. For those fading the new A-Class and the A200 I have one as my daily. Looks great, one of the best looking Benz available imo. it will easily see off most Jap cars on Thai roads and all diesels and because it is 'just an A' it gets challenged a lot. ????
  4. Judging by the damage shown in the photos and the fact the driver of the pickup was catapulted 20 meters, I would suggest 100kph is conservative.
  5. Good luck with insisting what you want to the Thai Police. Last time I took a breath test the Police took me aside and used a different machine from the one that they were using to test the Thais. They tested me in a different area as well, with no surveillance. My Thai colleague whom I was travelling with insisted they were trying to set me up for extortion, even though I hadn't been drinking and wasn't over the limit.
  6. As per the full article, it seems as if the pickup has pulled out without looking, and the bike has hit it. Bike has racing mods, suspension, tyres etc, so we can assume it was not being driven in a careful or proper manner either. And... the carnage continues.
  7. Can they design and deploy a good looking functional website yet?
  8. I was being facetious, I would buy a new Streetfighter if I really wanted an Italian bike. One of my employees has pretty much the same bike as in the photo, even the same Termignoni exhaust system. I'm more of a British modern classic / retro guy myself, Triumph, RE, Norton etc.
  9. I've never seen that. I did however once adopt a soi dog puppy which I domesticated and kept as a loving pet.
  10. I wonder if the people controlling this emergency response are trained, experienced and qualified in major emergency management? ????
  11. Indeed, and with the ongoing nationalisation of the Thai oil and gas industry expect these incidents to become more and more commonplace. As an oil and gas professional, what passes for quality, safety and environmental management systems here is nothing but a joke.
  12. Correct, but aim even higher. BANGKOK, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Thailand mobilised its navy and other agencies on Wednesday to contain an oil spill after an estimated 160,000 litres (35,195 gallons) leaked from an undersea pipeline about 20 km (12.4 miles) off its industrialised eastern seaboard. https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/thai-cleanup-underway-after-oil-spill-off-eastern-coast-2022-01-26/
  13. How is this not a major story in the news section? It's an ecological disaster!
  14. Can you show me where you can get a Ducati Monster for 112,000thb please? I will buy one immediately. Thanks in advance.
  15. Welcome to the new Thailand. Get used to it, as it is never going back to the way it once was.
