Thaksin hit by storm that could sink Thailand’s main opposition party
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They know it's a Pheu Thai landslide at the next election. -
Even if they have previous convictions for rape?

They have always been the real powerbrokers mate, since the 1930's. They have used every opportunity to remove threats to their control, since I arrived 31 years ago anyway, and now they can pretty much do what they like as the only controlling influence there was is no longer with us. Remember in 1991/92 it almost went full blown Myanmar... What some people fail to realise (not your good self of course), is that despite late 20th century and early 21st century modernisation, Thailand remains a very insular, inward looking, backward South East Asian nation that has gone from a rural farming economy through rapid industrialisation in less than five decades, resulting in a lot of fancy infrastructure and money but none of the fundamentals have followed such as improvements in education, social security, Policing, etc. Those that have tried to divert money from the corrupt to make those improvements have been swiftly removed as from the very top down here there is no equality. Their culture dictates that due to the Dharma wheel and Karma, that you desrve what you get in this life from stuff you did in the past lives. It is, in essence, a caste society, with money as the defining measure. There's a reason the Buddhas are gold.

Security chief at Bangkok condo hired after raping a minor in 2013
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
How do Thai felons manage to get visas to enter UK, Australia and New Zealand? How do foreign criminals manage to remain in Thailand for extended periods despite warrants and Interpol red notices out for their arrest? How do rich Thai criminals that flee abroad manage to live and return after the statute of limitation on their crimes expires? Answers on a postcard please. -
They all ran out of money a long time ago. They are printing money out of thin air, while debt continues to soar by trillions every month. Guess what happens next?

Submarines are vitally important for Thailand - but not right now

Got them for jumping off the conn tower into the water. -
The beer girls at my local Thai place are all stunning, and I enjoy chatting with them when they come to refill my glass. They haven't been working there for a while though due to COVID. Some of them are students and some of the others have full time jobs. Most have boyfriends unfortunately. ????

Thai police in massive debt - they owe 270 billion baht
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Paying more doesn't work when the education system is so poor and corruption is so pervasive. The quality simply isn't there and the temptation for graft too great. Not only that, but the RTP are not the same as Police in the West, here they were thugs employed to protect the rich merchant classes, so modern Policing is almost an alien concept for them, indeed, for most it is an anathema. -

Yes, I did. But you said it applies to all foreigners because we can just go home and leaver credit card debts unpaid. -

You can usually tell who is really connected by their social status, job or business and whether they are cashed up. Singlet wearing slavers on a bar-stool need not apply. -

It's certainly not without risk, but with every risk brings opportunity. Decent cryptos will be a hedge against worthless fiat currencies and even more so when the economic realities start to bite. Trillions of unpayable debt, financial crisis looming, unemployment soaring... I know where I'd rather park funds. I took profits yesterday just before the dump as some of my alts were up 50 to 100% in 24hrs. When things are euphoric it's usually a clear signal to take profits and prepare for a bloodbath. -

From 31 years personal experience any Thai girl that says she is connected usually isn't. They like to talk it up though. My family this and my family that. All bravado. When they find out who I know they soon keep quiet.
