Thai Court rejects dual pricing case from expat in Hua Hin
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
You don't really care because labour is cheap, reasonably skilled and tax breaks for companies investing in Thailand are pretty good. Your foreign managers will not care either, as they will have packages that include comprehensive health care and local cover as they will be paying social., plus loads of bars to enjoy the demimondaines and get away from the trouble and strife. -
AMG C43 Coupe - good choice of car for Thailand?
Mr Meeseeks replied to CrossBones's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I just racechipped my 2021 A200 AMG Dynamic. Now pushing close to 200bhp on the dyno. Next mod Brabus exhaust with the carbon tips. I was looking at the AMG C43 too but opted for a new A-class instead after being won over by the interior and the fact it was 2m cheaper. I was looking at a CLS 300d too. -
Thailand's 'draconian' alcohol laws in the spotlight
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
After he and Purachai brought in the 2am closing which I think happened in 2001 iirc. Then there were the continuing raids on non-Police owned venues throughout the country in particular Bangkok, where venues deemed immoral were arbitrarily shut down. They had the pee-test bus rock up and test all the ladies, occasionally if they didn't like the look of you they may make a foreigner take a test too. Things certainly changed for the worse under Thaksin from the glory 'anything goes' days of the 90's and before.- 233 replies

OP-ED: England’s unfriendly travel regulations

Aww, those poor, rich Thai kids not being able to get to England more easily to continue their privileged lifestyles. Truly heartbreaking. -
Thai woman in Denmark “Happy to be deported”
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Invaded and conquered a lot of what is now England back in the day. -
We are in Thailand, a country that still requires penny whistles and cymbal crashes to amplify slapstick comedy. Thais respect military strongmen. Do not be surprised if this mob gets chosen at the ballot box again, although I'm inclined to think a Thaksin party landslide may again be on the cards, followed by another coup due to attempts to bring him and his sister back.

Motorway toll booths to become barrier-less
Mr Meeseeks replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I ride big bikes and there's no way Thais are competent or responsible enough to be allowed on highways on them. You are not suggesting scooters and mopeds should be allowed are you? Risible. -

Can you imagine the carnage if they were? ☠️ -
They did but that was mostly down to the US joining the war and Hitler's poor judgement on the Eastern front. We are talking performance of the armed forces, specifically land armies. Forget about the Luftwaffe and German Navy for a minute. In most land based engagements prior to 1943 the Germans came out on top and even were formidable in retreat and when they were on the back foot after Allied victory in North Africa. Up until that point, the British and ANZACs (among other troops) rarely won any engagements against the Germans, much to Churchill's fury. Indeed, without Ultra decrypts of German intelligence the war would have likely been lost. As to the Japanese, they had inferior weaponry but their infantry fought doggedly, and were generally man to man, superior and more determined fighters than any of the Western allies.

By whom and on what basis? In WWII the Japanese and Germans were by far the superior to their Allied counterparts.
