  1. After tens of thousands of these accounts were banned and kicked off Twitter and Facebook, the government was issuing strong denials that they were doing this. Yet more lies. Can we trust anything this government tells us? ????
  2. Add to that the fact that many old codgers come to Thailand and act as if they are in their prime again and invincible, doing high risk activities that they would not do back home. Just yesterday I saw an old codger that had had been knocked off his scooter at Dolphin Roundabout in Pattaya. Poor sod. If you are older you have to know your limits.
  3. Read, learn and understand. ???? In sociolinguistics, a world language (sometimes global language, rarely international language) is a language that is geographically widespread and makes it possible for members of different language communities to communicate. The term may also be used to refer to constructed international auxiliary languages such as Esperanto. English is the foremost—and by some accounts only—world language. Beyond that, there is no academic consensus about which languages qualify; Arabic, French, Russian, and Spanish are other possible world languages. Some authors consider Latin to have formerly been a world language. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_language
  4. Yup, I suspect this will be case also. I fail to see the logic in locking down when there's 500 cases per day and opening up again when there are 15,000! Don't get me wrong I am gagging to get down to the bar and have a beer but where is the logic?
  5. Why? The Sinovac is what the government ordered from Thai nationals and if you recall, Thais were given priority over foreigners from the beginning. Until the stipulation that foreigners should receive vaccines from the donations, foreigners may yet have been receiving no vaccines at all! The Thai government has the discretion to distribute the donation of Pfizer as they see fit, with the exception of the agreed upon amount to go to higher risk foreigners. They have decided to distribute them to Thai front line medical personnel. I don't see how it is unfair in any way, shape or form.
  6. Thais get the Sinovac, their government's choice of vaccine for the people. The Thai government did not order Pfizer for the locals. Expats get Pfizer thanks to the generosity and philanthropy of their governments, who donated millions of doses on the proviso that a percentage were given to higher risk foreigners living in Thailand. Seems very fair to me.
  7. As incredulous as it may seem now, if there was an election, they may even elect the same mob yet again! Never bet against stupid.
  8. This is the result of supporting coups and then subsequently voting for military-led administrations. No-one to blame but themselves. Thailand and its people will have to learn the hard way, and through their mistakes. Going to take some time though, in terms of political maturity, they are still somewhere around where England was in the 14th century.
  9. Not going to address the root causes of coral erosion in Thailand. Smells more like an opportunity for self-enrichment to me!
  10. I've never seen any of them busy in Pattaya. Money laundering would be my guess, just like all the tailors shops.
  11. Just in time to open up again on October 14th! Amazing Thailand!
  12. I think the case numbers will allow them to open up on the desired date so that they don't lose face and the Czar can declare victory against COVID. Any other scenario will not be allowed.
  13. Some would take the Thai police on their word. The same police force that forced a patsy to masturbate so they could plant his semen sample at the scene of a murder, that allegedly gunned down diplomats in central Bangkok and just last week were caught on camera torturing and murdering a suspect in custody. Odd.
  14. This is what happens when you are doing 100kph in the rain and you realise your agricultural utility vehicle doesn't have the brakes or handling of a sports car.
  15. They have to show they are winning the war against COVID so they can cling onto power longer and attempt to stem the growing dissatisfaction among the general public. I think we are already beyond any actions that will save this government though. The economy is toast whatever they do.
  16. Yes a good point, but the deed was already done and their colleague was dead, so time to get paid.
  17. I'm sure if the cop attempted to kill or even succeeded in killing the lawyer the video would have made its way to the media.
  18. If I managed anything this badly I would be instantly dismissed, and probably sued through the civil or criminal courts for something or other. But then, I am not a hardman or a mafioso.
  19. 1. She said she will be bankrupt if they have to pay for quarantine. The rest of the article is based on costs and lack of funds, if you bother to read it. 2. They are clearly whinging to the reporter in the article. Obvious when the article is read. 3. She says quarantine will bankrupt here so there is NO CHOICE but for them to stay where they are, which is the entire point of the article, if you have indeed bothered to read it. Now toddle off and troll elsewhere, there's a good lad.
  20. I got rounded on for suggesting this could happen within 10 years on another thread. ????
