  1. Still no positive proof that there is an Interpol red notice out for this guy. ????
  2. You mean gambled using it as collateral and lost it all to the loan sharks.
  3. It would be hilarious if this thug became PM. It would totally destroy what little credibility Thailand still has as a destination for foreign investment, as a democracy and no doubt lead to a critical worsening of political instability.
  4. Thailand markets itself as a safe tourist destination. False advertising?
  5. It has made the the BBC, Washington Post, DW and several other international news outlets now. Plus it is all over social media which is probably more viral these days. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-58112979
  6. Indeed, and I think that perception is a correct analysis of the current situation. What most don't realise about is that crime rates will rise exponentially due to the economic devastation this government has caused while trying to deal with COVID. This crime may or may not be an effect of that. To compound thievery there will be increased violent crimes against outsiders, including tourists and members of the expat community, as frustrations and resentments rise on the back of nationalist sentiment, which has been eagerly fostered by this jack-boot administration. This will markedly rise as Western countries emerge from the COVID crisis triumphant, while Thailand begs for vaccines and the rich horde their ill-gotten wealth. This was a coup for the rich, after all. As I have said before mass tourism is over for Thailand for the foreseeable and there is real trouble ahead. Even if Thailand does open up, we'll be back to the days of the backpacker and the ardent sex-tourist for many years to come.
  7. I find the title of this thread in poor taste. While times are tougher than normal, Pattaya residents have never faced hardships such as those faced by the citizens of some of the belligerent nations during WWII. The Thai government has again, totally failed in its duty to its own citizens, especially residents of Pattaya, but this is what happens when you have a low-brow mafia in control. This verse from the Bible came to mind:- Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. - Galatians 6:7
  8. If you think Koh Tao investigation was bad, remember that time they forced a hill tribe guy to masturbate so they could frame him for the murder of Kirsty Jones?
  9. Once upon a time the Prime Minister of this country said something similar..
  10. I will post up pics of mine once I have finished doing the current mods. Received a load of parts from TEC and Hitchcocks in the UK that have to be fitted to the bike. Still pondering over exhaust upgrade, will be ordering new header pipes but still not sure on type of silencers.
  11. Same company, their logo is "built like a gun".
  12. Ridden both and the 650 twins are superior bikes in terms of handling and feel. Loads of customisation options available for the 650 twins now, they were the best selling bikes in the UK in 2020.
  13. I don't keep any significant amount of personal money in banks now anyway. Banks are an outdated concept, allowing a third-party access to and to control your money seems now utterly bizarre to me. Not your keys not your coins.
  14. Worrying stat that indicates actual numbers will be far, far higher. Possibly six figures.
  15. Smells like communism. Countries that have invested in research and vaccine production, or purchased vaccines should not be punished for doing so. Nor should their citizens be placed at risk simply because of global inequality. As they say, beggars can't be choosers. Time for some third-world billionaires to get their hands in their pockets.
  16. They even hate the native inhabitants of the British Isles, and are spending billions on putting illegals up in hotels and destroying our communities, culture and way of life. Looking out for (majority white) expats is an anathema to the Impotent, self-loathing, Marxist commissars that now run the UK.
  17. That graph is best described as 'parabolic'. Indicative of the complete and total failure of this administration.
  18. This is happening already. Banks have been ordered by the government not to repossess on defaulted loans. It is building up to the perfect storm.
