  1. Great opportunity for the local criminal gang to clean up some competition and take over their businesses without any questions asked. Just wait until they realise how much they can make from seizing land and property owned in a nominee company name.
  2. If convicted, it shouldn't count back in England. Just as heroin smuggling convictions handed down by a court in Australia don't count in Thailand. Fair's fair.
  3. Big Joke is an appropriate moniker in English. Some on here were defending him as honest and upstanding, even when evidence suggested otherwise. 😆 Thai cops eh? 😂
  4. I've met with all ranks of Police in my 33 years here. Mostly from Lumpini and Thong Lor districts. The most honest one I met was a lowly traffic cop in Bangkok, who used to come into our local bar, he didn't drink though. Meanwhile, up the road a sergeant was allegedly supplying drugs to the bars for the farangs to deal to tourists.
  5. Great post. Just as I have been saying since Swissman David was being made an example of and was rounded on by many on here.
  6. Lucky that we have Mr. T back for another 'war on drugs'. A few extra-judicial killings like last time and the price of the pill will be up to 200thb again.
  7. Bingo. The Chinese gangster is back and the xenophobia and anti-foreigner sentiment as well it appears.
  8. I would be very nervous if I owned land or property with a nominee company now.
  9. According to these reports, the cop pulled them over for speeding. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/nz-brothers-hamish-and-oscar-day-remain-in-jail-after-appearing-in-phuket-court/UA7MC6ZTHRDZFFVADULDUDDTCY/
  10. What I saw was the two farangs restraining the cop, taking his gun off him and making it safe. There is an additional video and photos of them all standing around together after the incident. What led up to the assault happening? Maybe the cop held a gun to their head over a traffic violation? Point is we simply don't know and are just speculating.
  11. What happened before the video to spark the incident? If you know, post it here, otherwise don't waste my time.
  12. Seems the most likely scenario. Hopefully the parents tell the brothers' side of the story to the NZ media, and we get to hear it. Got to be more to it than we are being told.
  13. Torture, coercion, and extortion is common with the Thai police, see the recent exposure of Joe Ferrari as a prime example. Not sure why folk here are so quick to believe their version of the events. The Deputy Police Chief is currently facing charges of corruption related to an online gambling syndicate. 🫣
  14. You are all muddled, there are no Thais accused of a crime here.
  15. Statistics in the UK are properly collected and measured, this is not the case in Thailand where deaths in hospital, after an accident are not included.
  16. No Thai lawyer is going to tell them to stand their ground. Thais admitting their guilt to reduce their punishment is nothing new, and has nothing to do with them lying to save face or refusing to take responsibility.
  17. Wrong. I was invited, by letter, by the Thai Govt. as a foreign expert to work in their petroleum industry.
  18. That would indicate that they believe they are in the right. Bizarre, but there's a lot we don't know that happened prior to the video. From experience, Thais will absolutely lie to save face or avoid taking responsibility for their behaviour. Maybe that is what happened here?
  19. This is exactly what I was warning about when the mobs were gathering to lynch Swissman David. The dirty Chinese gangster is back in control and so is the rampant xenophobia and anti-farang sentiment that accompanied his first term in office in the early 00's.
  20. I have met a lot of Thai police in my time here, and a lot of them are nutters. Won't go into the gun for hire services (allegedly) and other stuff they get involved with.
  21. Wrong. Thailand has the death penalty and the method is lethal injection. Prior to October 2003 it was death by firing squad (well, one guy with a machine gun).
  22. I'm still pretty handy, but I would not have got involved at all. There were hardly any Aussies here even back in the late 90's and early 00's. Mostly Yanks and Brits.
  23. Looks like a fly tipping area. No way they would be daft enough to have a landfill there.
  24. I know that intersection well. It is not clear if the sedan ran the red light turning left, which nearly all drivers do, and what I suspect it did.
