It was toll-free for the holidays when the accident happened. Bus driver likely thought he could go through the right hand MPass lanes. Gwen sonteen. With the speed he was going you can see he wasn't driving with due care and attention. If his brakes did indeed fail (they didn't), then he should have stayed on the main highway and allowed the bus to decelerate under its own momentum.

No attempt to slow down or brake by the car driver either. Playing on phone, not paying attention, speeding?

Correct. Another Thai man-child that should not be anywhere near a position of responsibility i.e. driving a bus full of passengers. It is like putting a 12-year-old child behind the wheel. Another reason (as if I needed one) to completely avoid having Thai men drive me anywhere.

Never believe a Thai if they tell you they will give you money. Everybody knows, but are all too cowardly to take a stand.

Thailand was the most dangerous tourism destination for Brits and Swedes for many years back in the late 90's until the mid 2000's. I wouldn't be surprised if that is still the case given the many incidents we hear about on a daily basis.

Daily Mail on Pattaya: "Embarrassed officials have made progress in gentrifying the region with family tourism projects but a ravenous nightlife industry and corrupt police have hampered their efforts, with undesirables from all nations still attracted to the seedy city." 🤣

Did you actually see men brutally beating women on the show? Was it a regular occurrence? You do not see this in the UK, as it is not culturally acceptable to regularly show men beating women on TV. There may be scenes of domestic violence, but it is dramatised to show it is unacceptable, which is not the case in Thailand, where it is regular, often validated and considered acceptable due to the victim 'cheating'. Thais are far more likely to mimic what they see on TV than people in the UK.

Easy to eradicate if they had a Police force that actually did their job. There's no real punishment for speeding. People will either pay the 500thb fine as it is of no consequence, or simply ignore it and continue on as normal. Mai bpen rai.
