Tourist visa to the uk
malthebluff replied to malthebluff's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
It's an English degree 6 years the teacher caorse was another that run along side she was doing 2 degrees at the start and is now working as a teacher and still in uni doing english as far as I know but i will ask her as for a sponsor for a uk Visa they must write a letter saying they will sponsor and also show bank statements I cant see many organisations in the uk going to do this even if she know of any. I could do it from Thailand I think but the fact is to why they would need a sponsor if they have money and a good job and reasons not to stay in the uk. Why cant she just go on a holiday like any uk or USA citizen can I'm the sure bkk elite dont need a sponser -
A friend of mine asked me to try find out if they can go to the uk for a months holiday. She is in her final 6 month of a 6 year english degree. And will become an English teacher here in Thailand so wants to go to the uk in the hope that the experience will make her a better english teacher. But looking online everything is for taking your girlfriend or partner to the uk or having a sponsor. She is a single girl with savings in the bank and no connection with anybody in the uk so cant get a sponsor boyfriend. She has been in touch with lots of Visa agents and they all saying having a sponsor is the easiest way but she feels as I do that these agents are more geared for the bar girls and farang new life together sort of thing So I would like to know as to why a thai citizen can not just go for a holiday if they can afford it. Let's say a rich student at the end if a degree course no job but has been offered many teaching jobs and will start work once back in Thailand not have farang boyfriend or girlfriend and no intention of staying in the uk I had a look online and was surprised that she was right theres us nothing even the uk gov site says about sponsors or boyfriends

You and your siblings (if any ) were all treated the same but that rarely happens in thailand boy and girl children are treated differently here girls learn to work to support the family where as boys when they marry support their wifes family so as children there is no pressure on boys simply because the family unit hopes they will grow up and leave but that's not always the case

Thai women conned into selling sex in Bahrain - woman arrested
malthebluff replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It's all about saving face nobody would tell to others the bad things they only say about how much money they make and paint the picture in bright colours. So in effect it's a circle for naive young girls trying to support their family -
Money in bank vanished
malthebluff replied to john smith's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Download the bank app to your phone it sends real time notifications for any money going in or out and you can stop and start the atm card with it. Check balances and even transfer money around saves you going to the bank -
Price going up 6 baht a pack so everybody buying and storing them to sell later

The thing that jumped out at me in this statement ( the successful reopening of Phuket and Samui islands ) I'm sorry but where was the success. They also talking December 1st before alcohol being sold in restaurants so bars will be next year. And what's the point of having 2 covid tests within the 72 hour window. One being no less then 72 hours before the flight and one after you land.

Well 7 days ago i went from surat to Bangkok and back again with vietair no covid test and i was then not fully vaccinated it says on their web site must be vaccinated or have a test so went to airport 3 times and asked but 3 differant people they all said I dont need anything. And they were all right I wasnt even asked going or coming back to show anything. Yet when I asked at the smile desk they said needed so not all airlines are doing the same

Reading between the lines like an Agatha Christy novel thai man madly in love with a rich mans wife even leaves his wife for her he comes into money and thinks I can give her the same now so has a few drinks and goes to see her to ask her to leave showing her the money he has. But takes a gun just in case rich man tries to to stop them. He gives the girl the money telling her it's yours if you runaway with me Rich man kills him after finding both of them together.. police called and woman knows nothing as was in bed drunk now she still has rich husband and 300.000 baht hidden that she was given and to her its belongs to her now because she was running away but some of that money will have to go in a brown envelope

Can we trust the Thai government to keep its word on November 1st?
malthebluff replied to Scouse123's topic in General Topics
I'm in the same boat and thinking the same things but if worst case happens its 7 days quarantine no big deal cant see them going back to 14 days and losing face -
It makes no difference for me I left the uk 25 years ago but I think lots of people have been waiting for this and lots will leave Thailand this will mean a lot less money being spent in Thailand and we all know the thai they like it when we spend so as soon as the realise theres even less money going around things will change quicker and they will open the bars less quarantine less curfews all a little late but I think they will forget about covid and the deaths and start opening up

Mexico, Thailand and more could be removed from red travel list
malthebluff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As I understand it its not the vaccines they are concerned about as lots have had astra or pfzer it's the administration of the vaccine that is the issue and is not recognised hence the vaccine passport or certificate is no good if going to the uk. It's like they dont trust Thailand I wonder why -
Thailand to introduce 500 baht tourist entry fee from Jan 1st
malthebluff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not the way to encourage tourist this and duel pricing. They are forgetting that covid has had devastating results in every country with people losing jobs and a lot less to spend so by making it even more expensive to come here I think people will opt for cheaper places to holiday. And where is the time limit on this extra expense will the surcharge stop when they have recovered the money lost to covid i think not
