  1. @op Honestly, to me it just seems like you want kids because you're bored and want something to do. I would say not only is that a pretty terrible reason to have kids, you're only kicking the can down the road and once they've grown up and flown the nest you'll be back to square one and trying to figure out what to do with your new found spare time. Only at 70 it may be much more difficult to find a new hobby or interest to engage in.
  2. It's a known problem, but it's not a common one (if it was it would most likely have been fixed). Nobody seems to know exactly what triggers it but, yes, if you only use mobile data and don't have wifi switched on it's likely it would never affect you.
  3. That would have to be his hime country. And by the sounds of things, he isn't in his home country right now.
  4. If prostitution was legalised would it also be on the protected profession list; jobs that foreigners may not apply for?
  5. I didn't realise that there were any EU countries where prostitution is legal. And I certainly didn't realise that there were any specific EU regulations on the industry.
  6. I have a Redmi Note 9 and, while it's been a great phone for the last 3 years, it's suffering from the dreaded disappearing storage space bug. Some devices, for whatever reason, fill up the system partition with wifi logs and these never get deleted. The net result is that the available internal storage space slowly goes down and down and there's nothing you can do about it without rooting or performing a factory reset. I currently have about 6gb of storage used out of 64gb that's supposed to be available, but there's only 3gb free! It's a shame because it's an otherwise great device but they have been aware of this issue for years and have done nothing to fix it. Every time a firmware update comes through (which, to be fair, happens pretty regularly) I get my hopes up of being reunited with my lost storage via a fix. But every time I am let down. I therefore really couldn't recommend them.
  7. No. The reason I said it was because it doesn't happen. The issue to which you are referring to happens when somebody tries to change the assigned driver letter when installing windows to, for example, D drive. Many older programs are hard coded to install their dependencies in "C:\Windows\..." which can result in odd behaviour. If the OP performs his new install of Windows correctly, his new install will boot with the drive letter C assigned to it. The old drive will either have a different drive letter or no letter assigned to it at all on boot. There is no way a new install of Windows will start writing system files to a different device unless the OS is installed on a non standard drive letter, and there is another drive assigned to the letter C.
  8. It doesn't sound that way to me but I don't want to get into a geek-off about it. "Sometimes strange things happen, also with new versions. even if they shouldn't happen" That is a very broad statement and I agree whole heartedly. The claim you originally made, however, is incorrect.
  9. Okay. So price was the point you were debating. Thank you for clarifying.
  10. It amazes me that people are willing to take that risk. Potential legal implications of travelling on a canceled passport aside, say you do successfully leave Thailand... What if you are then denied entry upon your return? The only option left, I would think, is to return to your home country and somehow retrieve the new passport that has been sent to Thailand. It seems like an awfully big risk to take.
  11. The OP has stated that he doesn't want to do that.
  12. It won't be
  13. He's already said that he wants to use the internal drive for storage. If he installs windows correctly to an external drive there's zero chance of it starting to use the internal drive for temp folders. It might be worthwhile disconnecting the internal drive while he is installing windows on the external drive, just to make sure he doesn't accidentally re-install Windows on that drive (either over the top or as a double installation) as opposed to the usb drive, but other than that he'll face no issues with the internal drive being misused in the manner you suggest.
  14. Which of the three points quoted are you arguing against and what makes you think that way?
  15. I noticed that too. I guess there's no helping some people ????????‍♂️
  16. That's a totally different argument to the one you made, and which I responded to.
  17. Grab taxis are horrendously expensive in Phuket. Or at least they were last time I was there.
  18. I really don't understand how you can be on overstay when you're not even in the country, but... If a student left without first "cancelling" their extension, can they retrospectively get a letter from the school before they next re-enter the country? Or is there no way out of that situation? If the "overstay" is more than one year in duration, will that student then be turned away and banned from re-entering the country for a year?
  19. Making people pay their taxes would be a good start. As I said in my previous post, though, I'm ducking out of this conversation now.
  20. Well as long as you did well for yourself I guess it doesn't matter what happened to the rest of the country ????. Anyway, as you say, time will tell. I don't have the energy to get into a political debate. Whoever form the next government, it certainly won't have been influenced in any way by what I post on here ????.
  21. It depends if they mean soda water, or soda as in a sugary fizzy drink such as Coke, which will certainly contribute to dehydration.
  22. There's plenty of money in the UK. It's just in all the wrong places. And that's a direct result of "what he is [and isn't] doing". "I fail to see what Labour could do other than make things worse." Well luckily for all of us, you'll have the opportunity to find out after the next election how they can improve things.
  23. It's an extremely quiet, some may even argue silent, way.
