  1. @JonnyF I am perfectly happy with what I wrote and I am perfectly happy that any sensible person reading what I wrote will be able to interpret it correctly. If you believe that you have scored points with your interpretation, then I'm happy for you.
  2. If you want English comprehension lessons then you'll have to pay. I don't do freebies.
  3. Penang is very nice. An especially great place if you like Indain food at Thai street-food prices.
  4. No, but it would make it racist, although somewhat odd, to say "go home you ****ing beer drinker". Or to do something that is designed to incite others to make similar remarks.
  5. I thought the primary objective was to get a new passport?? You can only stay in Vietnam for one month at a time, as far as I'm aware. So that won't be long enough to get a new passport.
  6. Well I dislike flags in general, but it seems to me a flag, or symbol of any kind, to represent what you believe or what you stand for seems somewhat more sensible than a flag to represent where you just happen to have been born... ????????‍♂️
  7. When I applied for my METV there were a lot of slots requesting upload of documents that weren't relevant to a tourist visa. In these cases I just uploaded an image of a white background with the text "Not Applicable" in big letters.
  8. Well done on using a hideous story of suffering and abuse as an excuse to vent your political issues. Very classy.
  9. But trade barriers have more than negated any impact from the fall of the pound's value so it's a net loss. These are the simple facts. As a direct result of brexit policy: Imports are more expensive Local produce is down Anyway, as I've already said, you've shown that you're not interested in serious debate, and only looking to score cheap points and make yourself look "smart". I hope you feel you've managed to do so.
  10. A weak pound is better for imports. You shouldn't have needed me to tell you that.
  11. Yes. I don't know why you can't comprehend it... It's happening right now. You're following the typical folly of "If we do A, it will be reduce B therefore it must increase C". It shows a basic lack of critical thinking which explains why you were presumably willing to believe the lies spread by the leave campaign. If you want to stop yourself being conned for the rest of your life you need to learn to understand that it's perfectly possible to create a policy that will make everything worse. As for your ramblings about the weather in Morocco, I have no idea what you're talking about and I have no interest in trying to debate with somebody who is clearly desperately trying to deflect the argument in order to try and save face.
  12. Yes we do. Yes I can. And yes it can. Even *with* increased tarifs and red tape when importing goods, they will still be cheaper than they would if you increased the salaries of everybody involved in the UK production process. And it will still be more expensive than if you hadn't imposed those trade barriers. It's what is called a "lose-lose situation" and brexit has imposed many examples of such.
  13. Stop it @Chomper Higgot You're letting little things like facts get in the way of a good rant, now!
  14. Yes it is. Which is why if the farming industry is destroyed, as appears to be your wish, we will have even worse supply issues than we do now.
  15. That was the topic of conversation as there are particular shortages and food is going rotten. As you have proven that you just want to deflect the argument in another direction any time you're challenged, I have no interest in branching out into discussions of other areas like supermarkets I'm not even sure if they are actually short of staff - I certainly haven't heard of any shortages in that area. And as for hospitals... training for positions like that take years and could not be filled by the type of people who are currently unemployed, anyway.
  16. Thanks @Pattaya57 and @Des1 Okay I've looked at the website. It's 500bt more expensive than a regular extension for a 7 day turnaround, and you still have to go to the immigration office to get your stamp. I can see why it's not exactly set the forum alight ????
  17. I'm not the one saying that there's anything wrong with the videos available, and I'm certainly not claiming that I could do a better job.
  18. "I could do better but wont" ????????????
  19. I don't think anyone on here has heard of that, either. Are you sure it wasn't about booking an appointment online? Did you happen to get a copy of the picture of you posing with the poster? As it would be extremely useful information if they have, in fact, launched a way to extend permission to stay online!
  20. I want everyone to be paid a decent wage. But I also live in the real world. Wages go up, prices go up. Prices go up, other people's wages have to go up. Export market collapses, government has to subsidise. Government can't afford to subsidise. Government collapses. There's a reason work like this was generally popular with either people from poorer countries, or for people who came to earn extra pocket money for thier summer travels. Unless you want a total revolution, you are providing criticisms without solutions. A true brexiteer if ever there was one.
  21. If by "do" they mean make, then I don't know. If by "do" they mean "enjoy watching" then they're way off. Most of the Thais I know love to watch TikTok videos of people dressed up as the Line bear doing "pranks". I don't know where they're filmed; maybe Korea or Japan. Some are tame and even mildy amusing on occasion. But many are way more invasive on the subjects than anything you'd ever get away with in the west.
  22. I'd suggest that you have probably only recently taken that stance because you think that it works to back up your current argument. It is, of course, a poorly thought out stance. Inflation is already in overdrive and, in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, you want to push the costs of locally produced fruit and veg up even higher. Of course that will mean local produce is no longer able to compete price-wise with imported goods so the businesses just fold because they have nobody to sell to. Unless your newly-found concerns for the poor fruit pickers includes the government paying some pretty impressive subsidies, it's unworkable.
