  1. I guess he means wearing out the battery.
  2. Well that's not an offence "committed by foreign nationals renting accommodation from them". That's an offence they themselves have committed. But you're probably right; I guess that may be what the article is referring to.
  3. Well that's not quite what you originally claimed... they can apparently only use money that you have saved with them in another account. To be fair, I think this practice is indeed common in the UK. But they can't cone after any assets outside their own organisation.
  4. Where is "back home"? In the UK, at least, credit cards are unsecured debt and the multi-national banks that issue them have zero right to seize any assets if the debt isn't repaid.
  5. Indeed. I'm sure whatever shopping mall or hotel complex takes it's place will be a great improvement... ????
  6. For reference here's a similar email I got on the subject. It looks like the OP is probably a scam, unless they use significantly different emails for other types of Microsoft account.
  7. How is the (grammatically correct) "The Microsoft account team" a "bad use of capitals"? The date formatting could simply be based on the country of origin. There's nothing suspicious about the link presentation. It's exactly the way Microsoft present the link in the genuine email. (edit... no they don't... see other post) The only way to tell for sure if it's a scam would be for the OP to post the header from the email or tell us where the link directs the user to.
  8. I can't happily throw away 1,500 gbp. But even my basic knowledge of economics leads to an understanding that list prices change for a variety of reasons and expecting a refund is ridiculous. I am also reasonable enough to be happy for somebody who got a better deal than me, rather than getting angry just because the planets didn't align for me on one particular occasion. ????‍♂️
  9. He's been using his gmail account for 15 years. The email refers to a Microsoft account which uses the gmail address for login.
  10. More than likely not!!! More likely is that the OP signed up for a Microsoft account for some reason or another, and hasn't used it since!
  11. Because?
  12. Your car would have dropped much more than 1,500 in value the moment you left the showroom. What a ridiculous prospect of holding the manufacturer responsible for depreciation. I bought a phone last week and there's since been a price drop. Should I be able to claim that back from the manufacturer?? Why couldn't you just be happy for your neighbour for lucking into a good deal?
  13. It may be genuine. Microsoft allow you to sign up to their services using an email account with any email address, even gmail. One way to be sure is to right click the login link and inspect very carefully the url they're trying to send you to. That being said, Microsoft don't generally close accounts down until they've been dormant for a very long time, so even if it is genuine, chances are the OP doesn't actively use the service that's being shut down anyway.
  14. An ED visa obtained in-country only allows a maximum stay of one year from the date that you enter the country. That being the case, you may as well get it done as soon as you arrive on visa-exempt; extending for 30 days first will just waste 1,900bt.
  15. No they do not. They are self-employed.
  16. Have you tried Googling this error?
  17. Umm... The government have been the ones crying loudest about the immigration "problem".
  18. How do you have 40 days left on the stamp? Vista exempt stamps are only valid for 30 days. [edit I just noticed you're from Brazil so perhaps you got a 90 day stamp?] No you can't get a re-entry permit for a visa exempt entry as far as I'm aware. Can you not just get another visa exempt entry on your return from Japan?
  19. If you're going to Penang, why not take the train? That way you're crossing via land and therefore should have no problem getting a visa exempt stamp.
  20. It's hardly a massive U-turn. From narrowly entering recession at growth of -0.2 (or whatever it was) to narrowly avoiding it with growth of 0.4. Obviously it's better to be growing than retracting, but there's still a long way to go before it can be considered significant.
  21. I think it's a poor translation. I guess it meant to read "becoming addicted to cannabis is harder [more difficult] that becoming addicted to alcohol and cigarettes...."
  22. 60 days isn't enough time to guarantee a new passport will be processed in time.
  23. It's possible that they don't want to release this information as the exact number is something that only the murderer could now. This can be used to validate a confession or trip up a suspect in questioning.
